    Derbecker, Wilson G. ---On Monday, June 17, 1985, at Scott Pavilion of the K-W Hospital, after a lengthy illness, Wilson George Derbecker, in his 80th year, of 45 Caroline St. N. Waterloo. Dear husband of the former Olive Wettlaufer; loving father of Barbara Ann and her husband Stan Otterbein of New Hamburg and Linda Plummer of Waterloo; brother of Florence and her husband, Rev. William Brown of Walkerton; grandfather of Bradley and Douglas Otterbein, Karen Haffner, Brenda and Lorrie Plummer and Shelley McGuire and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother, Stan and his parents, Conrad Derbecker and the former Ida Helwig. Mr. Derbecker was employed at Cluett Peabody and Co. Ltd,; farmed in Dover Twp., and owned and operated general stores in St. Jacobs and Kirkton, until his retirement. Mr. Derbecker was active in church work during his lifetime and was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was also formerly a member of the St. Jacobs Lion's Club. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 1985, in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel conducted by Rev. Luther Eberhart.

    BROWN, Florence Mae (Mrs. W.T.) - Peacefully, on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at Chateau Gardens, Elmira, Florence (Derbecker) Brown, in her 93rd year, of Elmira, formerly of Hanover.Beloved wife of the late Rev. W. T. Brown (1988); dear mother of Carolyn and David Playford of Elmira, Richard and Karen Brown of Toronto; also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Todd and Kerri Playford, Scott and Libby Playford, Sean and Rachel Playford, Heather and Jennifer Brown and by her nine great-grandchildren.Predeceased by her parents, Conrad and Ida (Helwig) Derbecker; brothers, Wilson and Stanley; son, Douglas (1975).The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Wednesday until service time, followed by interment in Hanover Cemetery.In Florence's memory, donations to Canadian Bible Society or Chateau Gardens Auxiliary would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy by the family.     Otterbein, Barbara Ann (Derbecker) - August 25, 1933 - August 6, 2009. It was in peace that Barbara passed, in the comfort and familiarity of her own home. Barbara's unquestionable faith and mighty determination carried her through this always-uncertain journey with cancer. A longtime resident of New Hamburg, Barb was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Barb enjoyed all aspects of God's creation. She loved the land, wildlife, gardening, flowers, and cottage life at Macey Bay, Honey Harbour. Barb was an award-winning photographer, an avid reader, a compassionate and gentle woman who saw beauty in the simplicity of life. She is sorely missed and dearly loved. Beloved wife of Stan Otterbein, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage on June 23, 2009. Loving mother of Brad and Claire Otterbein, Karen and Rick Haffner, all of New Hamburg, and Doug and Elaine Otterbein of Enniskillen. Sadly missed by grandchildren, Mike and Lori, Nathan, Meghann and friend Kyle, Adam, Devon and Misty, Lucas, Sophia, Brett, Eden and Georden, and great-grandson, Trent. Dear sister of Linda Potter (Fred) and sister-in-law of Earl (Charlotte) Otterbein, Arthur Otterbein, Edward (Carol) Otterbein, Helen Raymond, Louise Riepert, Lorraine Bolduc and Marie Herter. Barb was predeceased by her parents, Wilson and Olive (Wettlaufer) Derbecker; great-granddaughter, Willow Otterbein; and by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann Otterbein, Garfield Raymond, Eldon Riepert, Lincoln Bolduc and Bill Herter. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg on Monday. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Andre Lavergne officiating. Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg
