    Sad Death

A very painful accident occurred in Dumfries on Wednesday last week, resulting in the death on Thursday of a young child of Archibald and Isabella Glover. It will be remembered that a very heavy wind prevailed on Wednesday, and the accident occurred through the mother having taken a pot of boiling water off the stove and standing it on the floor. The poor child at this time was standing close to the outer door, and the mother found it necessary in the course of her work to pass out of the room. When she opened a door to do so, a draft was created that caused the outer door to fly open with a force of the wind, striking the unfortunate child and throwing her directly into the pot of hot water on the floor. She was so badly scaled that, notwithstanding medical aid was at once procured, she sank from the shock on Thursday. The parents have the sympathy of the neighborhood in their severe affliction.
