    Mrs. Charles F. Roehr, 87, of 140 Talbot St., formerly of Dekay Street, died Saturday at K-W Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born Jan. 20, 1878, in Woolwich Township she had resided in Kitchener for 63 years. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Steffler. He husband predeceased her in March 1965. Surviving are one son, Gordon of East Palatka, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Rita) Oberholtzer, Kitchener, and one grandchild. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by three sisters, two brothers and one daughter in infancy. The body is at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held at 2: 30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. A.A. Schweitzer of St. Mark's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Notes:

    Oberholtzer, Rita - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre in Waterloo in her 95th year. Loving mother of David and his wife Anne of Waterloo. Dear grandmother of Jeffrey and his wife Lisa Hutfloetz of Waterloo and Julie Tedesco and her husband Nate of Wilmington, Delaware. Cherished great-grandmother of Easton Oberholtzer and Laila Tedesco. Predeceased by her husband Lyle (2005); parents, Charles Roehr (1965) and Emma ((nee Steffler) 1965); brother, Gordon (1982) and a sister in infancy. Rita was a long time member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she served in the Nursery and as a Sunday School Teacher. Special thanks to the staff of Columbia Forest for their care over the past three years and to St. Mark's Church Congregation for their visits and prayers. Rita's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service to celebrate Rita's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. followed by reception. Rev. Liz Kuglin-Alyea officiating. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
