MRS. JOSEPH MARTIN
Mrs. Joseph B. Martin, R.R. 1, Elmira, died at the K-W Hospital on Sunday aged 74 years.
The former Elizabeth Wideman, she was born in 1876 in Woolwich Township. She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Mannasah (Katherine) Martin and Mrs. Amos (Leah) Brubacker, both of Hawkesville; Mrs. David (Mary) Martin, Three Bridges; and Miss Lydia Martin, at home; one son, Henry, at home; seven grandchildren and three brothers, Enoch of Hawkesville and Noah and Menno at St. Jacobs.
The funeral was held Wednesday from the residence at 9:00 a.m. to North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House for service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

On Sunday, July 22, 1979, at her home, in Hawkesville, Katie Martin, wife of Mannasseh Martin, age 71 years.
Sister of Henry of Route 1. Elmira, Mrs. Amos (Leah) Brubacher of Hawkesville and Mrs. David (Mary) Martin of Route 1, St. Jacobs. One son and one sister predeceased her.
The funeral service was held from her home in Hawkesville, on Tuesday, July 24, at 8:30 a.m. standard time. Removal was then made to the Linwood Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Herbert Wideman of Mannheim, formerly of Elmira, died Friday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 60.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wideman, he was born at Galt, Nov. 10, 1908. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Susannah Bowman, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Jim, of Elmira; two brothers, Cecil of New Dundee and Robert of Hespeler; a sister in Tonawanda, N.Y., and five grandchildren.
The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor for funeral service in the chapel Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Richard Holm of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.

George went to be with his Lord on November 6, 2020, passing away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel, a month shy of his 90th birthday. He is survived by his wife MaryAnn of Floradale; children Jean Bowman of Kitchener, Kevin Bowman of Wawa, Harold (Jolene) Shoemaker of Elmira, Cecil (Lorna) Shoemaker of Waterloo, Glen (Verna) Shoemaker of Elmira, Paul (Lucy) Shoemaker of Montreal, Marj (Kirk) Pomerleau of Floradale, Joyce (Ben) Onyeka of Waterloo, Ken (Carol) Shoemaker of Wellesley, and Merle (Christina) Shoemaker of Kitchener. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Will be missed by brother-in-law Ivan Martin, and sisters-in-law Edna (Levi) Shantz, Matilda Martin, and Sarah Bowman. Predeceased by his parents Ishmael and Rachel (Martin) Bowman, first wife Eileen (Martin) Bowman, and brothers Sidney, Norman and Ephraim.
George was a longtime resident of Floradale, and enjoyed working at the feed mill for many years before starting his own landscaping and gardening business. George always wanted a big family, and got his wish when he remarried MaryAnn Shoemaker in 2001, growing his family from three to ten! He would often be seen on his riding mower or tractor; he always kept his furrows straight, and never met a cat he didn't love. He will be missed by all. Thank you to the staff at Caressant Care for their wonderful and compassionate care of George during his stay there.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 9-10 a.m. at Crystal View Mennonite Church, 2167 Floradale Road, Floradale. Masks are mandatory. Please remain in your vehicle until a parking attendant invites you in. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Horse Kicks Boy in Head; Lad Dies in K-W Hospital
Kicked in the back of the head by a horse as he was returning home with his parents last evening, Amos Wideman, aged three, was fatally injured. He died in the K-W Hospital last night about eight o'clock.
The little boy was riding on the floor of the buggy when the horse reared and kicked, one of the hooves striking him on the head.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Wideman of Three Bridges,
who were riding in the buggy at the time of the accident, which happened about three quarters of a mile west of St. Jacobs.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the Conestogo Meeting House. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
The body is resting at the Lippert-Gruhn Funeral Home until this evening.

WIDEMAN, Harold - Died peacefully at home with his family by his side, on August 30, 2009, after being recently diagnosed with cancer. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Delphine; beloved father of Brian(Lee), Fred (Caroline), Jeff (Mary); proud grandfather of Sarah and Rachel, Jacob, Nick and Sasha, Matthew, Mark and Meredith Maw. Dear brother of Dorothy (Bill Sittler), Ruby (Amsey Weber), late Clare (Lucille), Jim (Christine), late Edgar (Beatrice), Carol (David Ringer), Erma (Bob Martin). Harold spent most of his working career at Wallenstein Feed and Supply. After retirement he kept himself busy with golf and a number of charities. Visitation will be held at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira, on Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the Elmira Mennonite Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2. Interment immediately following the service at the Hawkesville Cemetery. WIDEMAN, Rev. Clare - Died peacefully on May 29, 2009. Cherished husband of Lucille Wideman. Beloved father of Kevin (Melanie Rose-Wideman) and Bonita (David Hammond). Proud grandfather of Isaac, Connor and Renae. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Clare's ministry included pastoral care in the community and at the Regional Mental Health Care, London for 25 years. He was a valued professional mentor and colleague in his role as Supervisor in the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE). Clare volunteered his time on numerous boards including, Craigwood Youth Services, Ontario Association of Children's Mental Health Centres, Ontario Chaplains Association and Sydenham Community Credit Union. BRUBACHER: Marvin, James (Merch) with deepest regret, died suddenly on August 11, 2004 at 57. Merch will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife and best friend Barb (Weichel), daughters Heather and Robyn (son-in-law John Brett and family). Also leaves five brothers and sisters, Glen (and friend Emily), Elverne (Faith), Grace (Rick) Rodriguez of B.C., Lorne Snider, Adele (Larry).
