    Mrs. George Israel

    The death of Mrs. George Israel, 82, occurred at her residence, 127 Walter St., Saturday.

    The former Catherine Otterbein, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper Otterbein, and was born in Woolwich Township Oct. 24, 1884. Her marriage to George Israel, who survives, took place in Woolwich Township, Sept. 25, 1888.

    Surviving are three sons, Walter, Pontiac, Mich.: Sylvester. Kitchener, and Harold, West Montrose; one daughter Henrietta (Maude) of Kitchener. Five grandchildren also survive.

    The body is resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday followed by a service at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2: 15. Interment will be made in Union Cemetery, Elmira. Rev. Arthur. Eissfelt will officiate.

    Sylvester J. Israel, 64, of 127 Walter St., died at K-W Hospital today after an illness of three weeks.

    Born in Peel township, he has been a resident of Kitchener for 30 years. He was employed by Kloepfer Coal Company for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

    Surviving are two brothers, Walter, Pontiac, Mich.; Harold, West Montrose; one sister, Henrietta (Maud) Israel, Kitchener. His wife, the former Edith Lorsch predeceased him eight years ago.

    The body is at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1: 30 p.m. by Rev. Arthur Eissfeldt of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in St. James's Cemetery, Elmira.

    Sylvester married Edith Phillipina Lorch 12 Feb 1925, Elmira, Woolwich Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Edith (daughter of Albert W.     ISRAEL, Miss Henrietta (Maude)-At St. Mary's Hospital, on Saturday Oct. 14, 1989, in her 96th year.

    Miss Israel was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a member of the Happy Gang and was employed with Eaton's for 25 years until her retirement.

    Predeceased by her parents, George Israel and the former Catherine Otterbein and three brothers, Walter, Sylvester and Harold.

    Beloved aunt of five nephews and their families, Raymond Israel and his wife Margaret of Kitchener, Kenneth Israel and his wife Marion and George Israel all of West Montrose, Lorne Israel and his wife Barbara of Prince Edward Island and Walter Israel of Kitchener.

    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 2 p.m. Sunday, continuing until the funeral and committal service in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel, Monday at 2: 30 p.m., Rev. Roger Winger officiating. Interment Elmira Union cemetery.

    SRAEL, Kenneth James 1927 - 2016 Ken passed away peacefully, in his 90th year, at home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Beloved husband of Marion (Goodwin) for 63 years. Loving father of Alan Israel (Susan Woodruff), Sandra Kendall (John), Barbara Israel (Albert Loberg) and Carole Reeves (Terrence). He will be sadly missed by his ten grandchildren Emily (Gordon Kennedy), Evan and Eric Israel; Heather (Scott Weber), Laura (Scott Vandoormaal) and Ian Kendall; Christine and Robert Loberg; Jack and Thomas Reeves; and his great-grandchild Bennett Weber. Survived by his brother Walter and his sisters-in-law Connie (George) and Barbara (Lorne). Predeceased by his parents Harold Israel and Sarah Jane (Letson); brothers Raymond (Margaret), George and Lorne. Ken was a Bell employee for 41 years and a full-time farmer after retirement. He was a faithful member of West Montrose United Church and served on many committees during his lifetime. Ken was a member of Woolwich Council for 21 years and Deputy Reeve before Regional Government. Ken was also a member of the Upper Canada Two Cylinder Club and served on the board of the UCTCC for three years. He owned and showed his antique threshing machine and his restored antique tractors at many farm events, including International Plowing Matches. Ken was also a member of several Square Dance Clubs, an avid Bridge player, a member of the Bell Pioneers and a volunteer driver of the Kiwanis Bus. Ken leaves behind many wonderful friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive their relatives and friends for visitation on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. In memory of Ken, donations to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre of Grand River Hospital would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.     ISRAEL, Walter Jacob Passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the age of 84 years. Walter was the beloved father of Vicki and her husband John Trowhill, the late Todd Israel (2017) and his wife Tara, and Blair Israel. Loved grandfather of Kylia and Kelsey Trowhill; Kaelem and Cody Israel; and Madison, Tyson, and Makenzie Israel. Loving great-grandfather of Lillian Raymond. Also remembered by Pamela (Gibson) Israel. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Sarah (Letson) Israel, and siblings Raymond, Ken, George, and William "Lorne" Israel. Walter spent his career in law enforcement. He appreciated being around the farming community where he was raised. In his retirement he enjoyed family activities with his grandchildren and especially loved to share his passion for baseball with them. Visitation for relatives and friends will take place on Thursday, June 21, 2018 beginning at 12 p.m. until the funeral service time at 2 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Interment will follow in West Montrose Cemetery.
