    ELMIRA - A former mayor of Elmira, Bertram H. Brown, 68 of 6 Cross St died Wednesday at Tavistock shortly after he was discharged from Westminster Hospital, London.. Ont., to return here. He spent six weeks in hospital.

    He had stopped to visit a brother when he died.

    Born Feb. 21, 1891 in Pembroke, he was a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. George Brown. He served on town council many years, and was mayor for three terms. He was a veteran of the First World War, a member of Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elmira, and the Elmira Branch of the Canadian Legion.

    Surviving art his wife, the former Mary Annette Bricker: two sons, Murray of Elmira, Grant of Kitchener. one daughter Mrs. Norman (Beth) Clement of Elmira; one brother. Wilford of Tavistock: one sister, Miss Miranda Brown of Toronto: eight grandchildren. One brother predeceased him.

    The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor where the funeral will be conducted Friday 3 pm. by Rev. J. W. Siebert. Burial will be In Elmira Cemetery.

    Bertram married Mary Annette "Nettie" Bricker 5 May 1920, Elmira, Woolwich Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Mary (daughter of John C.     BROWN, Murray H. - On Tuesday, April 7, 1987, at his home, 54 Ann St., Elmira, age 65 years.

    Beloved husband of Geneva Thomas; dear father of Brian of London, Ont., Linda (Mrs. Harry Liese) of Drayton, Bruce, Beth (Mrs. Brian Beatty), Brenda Brown, Brent, Barbara (Mrs. Alex Lee) and Bradley, all of Elmira, Robert of Millbank and Blair of St. Jacobs. Fifteen grandchildren also survive. Dear son of Mrs. Annette Brown of Elmira and the late Bertram Brown; brother of Grant of Kitchener and Beth (Mrs. Norm Clement) of Elmira.

    Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), until Thursday at noon, when removal will be made to Trinity United Church, Elmira, for funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Art Veidhuis officiating. Interment Elmira Union cemetery.

    The family will receive their friends at the funeral home today (Wednesday), 24 and 7-9 p.m.

    The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 409, Elmira, will hold a memorial service, tonight (Wednesday) at 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

    CLEMENT, Beth (Mrs. Norm) - Peacefully, on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Beth (Brown) Clement, in her 80th year, of Elmira. Beloved wife of Norm Clement for almost 58 years. Loving mother of Peter and Diane Clement of Chattanooga, Tenn. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Cale and Caroline Clement. Dear sister-in-law of Geneva Brown of Elmira. Also lovingly remembered by a number of nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Bert and Nettie Brown; and two brothers, Murray and Grant (Kathleen) Brown; and one nephew, Blair Brown. At Beth's request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira for memorial visitation on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service for family and friends to celebrate the life and faith of Beth will be held at Trinity United Church, Elmira on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 3 p.m. with Rev. David Jagger officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be in Elmira Union Cemetery. In her memory, donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

    BROWN, Blair Douglas - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing. after a short bout of cancer, on Thursday. July 1, 2004, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Blair Brown, in his 49th year, of St. Jacobs.

Beth and Brian Beatty. Brenda and Gary Cooper, Brent and Kathleen Brown. Barb and Alex Lee and Brad and Natalie Brown. Brother-in-law of Carol and Grant Czarny and Bonnie and Pete Horst.     Blair was a longtime employee of Zehrs Markets.

    The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Sunday, transfer will he made to St. James Lutheran Church. St. Jacobs for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Brill officiating followed by interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. St. Jacobs.
