GINGERICH. - Veronica (Lichti) Gingerich was born Sept. 29, 1867, near St. Agatha, Ont.; died Sept. 25, 1935, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Aaron Moshier, near Lowville, N. Y.; aged 67 y. 11 m. 25 d. She was married on Jan. 19, 1888, to Daniel M. Gingerich who passed away Nov. 21, 1929. She leaves 6 sons and 5 daughters: David of Alden, N. Y.; Moses, Samuel, Nicholas, William, Rachel (Mrs. Joel Wideich), Saviera (Mrs. Aaron Lehman), and Fanny (Mrs. Aaron Moshier), all of Lowville, N. Y.; Olive (Mrs. Manassah Cressman), Tillie and Henry of Baden, Ont.; also 33 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, and a host of friends. She united with the Amish Mennonite Church in her youth, and remained true to the faith till death. Throughout her suffering her faith and trust in God never wavered. She had a deep concern for her children and prayed for them, that they should all be brought into the fold of Jesus Christ. She was always glad to have visitors, desiring them to read the Word of God and have prayer with her. Short funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Aaron Moshier of Lowville, N. Y., on the evening of Sept. 26, 1935, after which her remains were brought to Baden, Ont., to the home of her son, Henry, where funeral was held Sept. 28, 1935, with further services at the Steinman Mennonite Church. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. The services were in charge of Moses Jantzi, assisted by Moses Roth, Christ Schultz, and Moses M. Shantz

Mrs. Fanny Lichti Gingerich, 67, died Wednesday night, September 25, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Aaron Moshier, New Bremen. She was born in St. Agatha, Ont., September 29, 1867, and resided there until a year ago, when she came to live with her daughter. Mrs. Marie Erb, 74 died at her residence, 60 Mt. Hope St. Born March 16, 1873 in Wilmot Township, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lichti. She was a member of the St. Agatha Amish Mennonite Church. Her husband, Christian Erb, predeceased her on March 19, 1943.

Surviving are one son, Irvin of Holt, four daughters, Miss Clara and Mrs. Aaron (Lydia) Weltz both of Kitchener, Mrs. Soloman (Amelia) Roth of Tavistock, and Mrs. Menno (Lucinda) Roth of Bright; a brother, Noah Lichti of Tavistock and three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Gascho of Kitchener, Mrs. Catherine Kropf of Philipsburg, and Mrs. Moses Mayer of St. Agatha. Sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be held at the residence, at 1:30 p.m. Friday followed by service in St. Agatha A.M. Church at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Peter Nafziger will be In charge of the service. Remains are resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until four p.m. on Wednesday when the removal will be made to the residence.

In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and became a member of the Wilmot A. M. Congregation, later transferring to the East Zorra congregation, where he was a member till called to his reward. On Dec. 10, 1895, he was joined in matrimony to Sister Magdalena Roth of East Zorra, which union was blessed with 1 son and 1 daughter, together with 1 adopted daughter. He died June 16, 1940, at the home of his son in New Hamburg, Ont.; aged 65 y. 1 m. 4 d. Surviving are his sorrowing companion, son (Daniel) and daughter (Mrs. Simon Roth), both of New Hamburg, and Mrs. Irma Brozio of Kitchener, Ont.; also 9 grandchildren, 1 brother (Noah of Southeasthope), 4 sisters (Barbara, wife of David Gascho; Mary, wife of Christ Erb, Waterloo; Catherine, widow of Rudy Kropf; Rachel, wife of Moses Moyer, Wilmot). Services were conducted at the home by Bro. Peter Nafziger of St. Agatha, and at the East Zorra A. M. Church by home ministers, Brethren J. R. Bender, Menno Kipfer and D. S. Jutzi. NEW HAMBURG. June 17.- Ill for the past year. Abraham S. Lichti. 65. died Sunday at the home of his son, Daniel. Born in St. Agatha, he retired from the farm 15 years ago and in recent years had been employed in New Hamburg and Kitchener. Mr. Lichti attended the Amish- Mennonite church on the 16th line of East Zorra. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lichti.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son. Daniel of New Hamburg, two daughters. Mrs. Simon Roth of New Hamburg and Mrs. William Borzio of Kitchener, two brothers. Noah Lichti of South Easthope and Nicholas Lichti of Waterloo, four sisters. Mrs. Mose Moyer and Mrs. David Gascho, both of St. Agatha. Mrs. Rudy Kropf of North Easthope and Mrs. Chris Erb of Kitchener.

The funeral will be held Wednesday with a private service at the home of his son at 9.30 a.m., followed by public service at the Amish-Mennonite church. East Zorra, at 10.30 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Daniel Jutzi will officiate.

Mrs. Rudolph Kropf
New Hamburg - Mrs. Rudolph (Katie) Kropf, 218 Jacob St., New Hamburg, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital on her 85th birthday. Born Catherina Lichti at St. Agatha, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lichti, Mrs. Kropf has been a resident here for the past eight years. She was a member of the St. Agatha Amish Mennonite Church. Her husband died in 1938. Surviving are three sons, Aaron of Waterloo, Lorne of Kitchener and Clayton of Philipsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Milton (Elmina) Boshart of Waterloo, Mrs. Irvin (Barbara) Litwiller of Kitchener and Mrs. Henry (Arleatha) Zehr of New Hamburg; one sister, Mrs. Mose (Rachel) Moyer of Kitchener, 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased also by one son, one daughter, five brothers and four sisters. The body will be at the Futher-Omand Funeral Home here until noon Friday, when removal will be made to the St. Agatha Amish Mennonite Church for service at 2: 30 p.m., conducted by Rev. MAYER, Rachel (Lichti)

Mrs. Moses Mayer of 526 Stirling Ave. S. died Sunday at her home after a lengthy illness. She was 91.

Born near St. Agatha, she was the former Rachel Lichti, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholaus Lichti. She and her husband farmed near St. Agatha for many years. After the death of her husband in 1952 she lived with her daughter, Mrs. William (Viola) Gingerich.
She was a member of the St. Agatha Mennonite Church.

Surviving are three sons, Elmer of Kitchener, Clarence of Lowville, N.Y., and William of RR 1, New Hamburg; four daughters, Mrs. Gingerich, Mrs. Simon (Adeline) Gingerich of Lowville, N.Y., Mrs. Jeremiah (Elmina) Wismer of Bright and Mrs. Elmer (Mabel) Streicher of Tavistock; 28 grandchildren; and 56 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, Allen, Edgar and Aaron, five sisters and five brothers.
The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Wednesday when removal will be made to the church for service at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Gerald Schwartzentruber and Rev. Elmer Schwartzentruber. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Donations the church building fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

RITES FOR MOSES GINGERICH, PINE GROVE, TO BE TUESDAY

Lowville, Oct. 10. Funeral for Moses Gingerich, 70, of Pine Grove, who died Saturday morning in Lewis County General hospital after an illness of three weeks, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Conservative Mennonite church, Croghan, with Rev. Lloyd Boshart, pastor, officiating. A prayer service will be held at the family home at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Conservative Mennonite church cemetery, Croghan.

The body was removed from the Virkler funeral home to his home at Pine Grove where friends may call, Mr. Gingerich was born at
Baden, Ont., Sept. 4, 1890, a son of Daniel and Fanney Lichti Gingerich. He came to the United States in 1924 and had lived in the Lowville area since then. He married Nettie Boshart, July 22, 1913 in Wilmott county, Ont.

Y., March 28, 1942; aged 48 y. 5 m. 5 d. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases. She was sick two weeks and was in the hospital only two days. In her youth she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, was baptized, and became a member of the Amish Mennonite Church, to which she remained faithful until the end. She was united in marriage to Joel E. Widrich of Lowville, N. Y., on Dec. 29, 1920. To this union were born 4 daughters and 2 sons. LOWVILLE - Samuel Gingerich, 81, Croghan. R.D., retired farmer, died Friday afternoon at 5: 40 in the Lewis County General Hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 18. He had been in failing health several years. The funeral will be Monday afternoon at 1 at his home and at 1: 30 in the Conservative Mennonite Church, Croghan with Rev. Richard Zehr, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Calling hours at his home will be at the callers convenience. The Virkler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Croghan Conservative Mennonite Church Library Fund in care of Mrs. James Martin, Croghan, or to the Heart Fund. Mr. Gingerich is survived by a son. Beryl, Lowville, R.D.3; two daughters, Mrs. Sherwood (Joan) Zehr, Carthage, R.D. 2, and Mrs. Kenneth (Lila) Widrick, Croghan, R.D.I; two brothers, David, East Aurora, and Henry, New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada; three sisters, Mrs. Olive Cressman, Kitchener, Ont., Mrs. Saviera Lehman, Castorland, and Mrs. Fannie Moshier, Lititz, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Two sisters and three brothers died before him. Mr. Gingerich was born at Baden, Ont., June 13, 1895, son of Daniel and Fannie Lichti and came to the United States in 1914. In 1921 he married Barbara Lehman who died April 13, 1924. He married Melinda Martin in 1928. Mr. Gingerich purchased a farm on the Schnell road which he operated from 1923 to 1946 and then purchased the farm at Croghan which he operated until his retirement in 1960. He and his wife resided in a home adjacent to the farm. Mr. Gingerich was a member of the Croghan Conservative Mennonite Church.

Mrs. Noah L. Erb The death occurred at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, June 3, of Mrs. Noah L. Erb, nee Nancy Gascho, of near (Mannheim after serious illness for three weeks. Prior to this she had been in poor health for some time.

The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Gascho of St. Agatha, where she was born 53 years ago. She was married on January 14^th, 1913 to Noah L. Erb, who, besides five sons and two daughters are left in bereavement. The children are Vernon of Hespeler, Melvin of Rosebank and Clayton Wilfred, Ray, Louella and Edna at home. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Gascho, two brothers, Aaron of St. Agatha, Herbert, Louisville, N. Y., and five sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Rickert, Hespeler, Mrs. Allan Litwiller, Waterloo, Mrs. David Ropp and Mrs. Lorne Roth, Tavistock and Miss Edna Erb of Casterland, N. Y.

The funeral was held on Monday afternoon with public service at the St. Agatha A. M. Church of which the deceased was a faithful member. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. William Seyler, 72, of 79 Church St., died Jan. 20 at K-W Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Seyler, the former Magdalene Lichty, was born Jan. 21, 1895 in Wilmot Township. A resident of Phillipsburg for many years, Mrs. Seyler lived in Kitchener for the past 12 years.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg; the Lutheran Church Women, the Senior Citizens and Jolly Oldsters. Her husband died in 1955.

Surviving are two sons, Edgar, RR 1, Wellesley; Wilfred, RR 2, Baden; two daughters, Mrs, Lloyd (Helen) Launtenschlager, Kitchener; Mrs. Elmer (Hilda) Hohl, RR 1, Wellesley; one brother, Herbert; five sisters, Mrs. John (Marlon) Kropf, Wellesley; Mrs.Moses (Lavina) Bast, Shakespeare; Mrs. Noah (Sarah) Boshart, Batavia, N.Y.; Mrs. Lome (Emma) Martin, Wellesley; Mrs. Henry (Barbara) Gerth, Kitchener; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The service was held Tuesday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. E. A. Feiker officiating, and burial followed in the church cemetery. The Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home was in charge.

ROTH, Mrs. Lucinda (Erb)-On Wednesday, August 3, 1977, at Nithview Home, New Hamburg, Lucinda Roth, aged 78 years.

She was a member of Steinman Mennonite Church and employed at the K-W Hospital prior to her retirement. Wife of the late Menno L. Roth. She is survived by one son, Edgar of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Doris) Stere of New Hamburg, Mrs. Richard (Eileen) Wilhelm of Route 1, Wellesley, and Mrs. Gerald (Betty) Schwartz of Kitchener. Nine grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Erb, one son, one brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at the Omand-Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, on Thursday and Friday, August 4 and 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at Steinman Mennonite Church on Saturday, August 6, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Of 250 Jacob St, New Hamburg, passed away at his residence Dec. 6, 1973. Aaron Kropf

Funeral services were held Friday for Aaron Kropf, a native of St. Agatha, who died last week at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, after a lengthy illness. He was 64. A lifelong resident of the Twin City area, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kropf, and was born at St. Agatha. He was a member of the St. Agatha Mennonite Church and was employed at Sunshine Office Equipment Ltd. For 28 years. Illness forced him to retire in March of 1965. He is survived by his wife, the former Annie Herner, whom he married in St. Agatha Aug. 29, 1925; one son, Wilbert E. of Waterloo; one daughter, Mrs. William (Verdella) Wynowsky of Waterloo; one brother, Lorne of Kitchener, two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Litwiller of Kitchener and Mrs. Henry (Arleatha) Zehr of New Hamburg; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. The service was held in St. Agatha Mennonite Church Friday afternoon and burial was in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Mrs. Milton Boshart, 60, of 63 Avondale Ave. S., Waterloo died today at K-W Hospital following a lengthy illness.

The former Elmina Kropf, she was born in St. Agatha, Oct. 16, 1905, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kropf. She was a member of the St. Agatha Mennonite Church, and had lived in Waterloo for the past 10 years. She had formerly lived in Bridgeport.


Surviving are her husband, whom she married in St. Agatha on March 19, 1924; three sons, Berl and Robert, both of Kitchener, and Gary, Waterloo; one daughter, Mrs. Lee (Reta) Horst, Kitchener; three brothers, Aaron, Waterloo, Lorne, Kitchener, and Clayton, Wellesley; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Litwiller, Kitchener, and Mrs. Henry (Arleatha) Zehr, New Hamburg; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Wilfred, and a son, Floyd. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon on Friday when removal will be made to the St. Agatha Mennonite Church for the service at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Clayton Kropf, Wellesley, died at his home Wednesday following a heart attack. He was 52.

Born March 12, 1915, in St. Agatha, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kropf.

Employed at Waterloo, for the past 25 years, Mr. Kropf had resided in Wellesley for the past year.

He was a member of Lisbon Evangelical United Church.

His first wife, the former Clara Bast, died in January 1965.

Surviving are his second wife, the former Vera Yost whom he married April 9, 1966, in Wellesley; three sons, Arthur and Bruce of Kitchener and Ronald at home; one stepson, Wilson Cook, also at home; three daughters, Mrs. John (Kelsey) Kuepfer, R. R. 1, New Hamburg, Mrs. Patrick (Shirley) Hergott of St. Clements, and Berniece, at home; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert (Irene) Jutzi, Kitchener; two brothers, Aaron of Waterloo, and Lorne of Kitchener; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Arleatha) Zehr, New Hamburg, and Mrs. Barbara Litwiller, Kitchener, and seven grandchildren.

One brother and one sister predeceased him.

The body was at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley, until noon Saturday when removal was made to Lisbon Evangelical United Brethren Church for service at 2: 30 p.m.

Rev. Lynn Snyder officiated. Internment was made in St. Agatha Mennonite cemetery.

The death of Wilfred Kropf, 42, occurred at his home in Kitchener last Thursday following a heart attack. The deceased was born at St. Agatha, Dec. 12, 1917, a son of the former Katherine Lichty, now of New Hamburg and the late Rudolph Kropf, who died 20 years ago. He moved to Kitchener from St. Agatha three years ago and was employed at the Dominion Tire factory. He was a lifelong member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church.

Born in St, Agatha, Ontario Canada, on August 10th, 1906, the daughter of Moses and Rachel Lickti Mayer, she attended school in St. Agatha, Ontario, She came to the United States to seek employment in 1926 as a domestic housekeeper. She married Simon Gingerich Sr. on October 3rd, 1928 at the Lowville Mennonite Church with Rev. Christian Nafziger, Pastor, officiating. She and her husband purchased a dairy farm on the Vary Road in the Town of Harrisburg in 1933. They sold the farm to their son Simon in 1953.

Mr. Gingerich died on April 5, 1998. After her marriage she worked on two dairy farms; one for
John Widrick arid the other for Mrs. Henry 0. Weller. She also worked for Earl Stanton and Earl Barnes families as a domestic housekeeper after her husband's death, and she continued to work for various families in the area as a housekeeper until her retirement.

She was a member of the Naumburg Mennonite Church, Naumburg, NY. For many years she was active in the Lowville Mennonite Sewing Circle, and she also served on many committees for the Mennonite Church. She also enjoyed most kinds of needlework and quilting. She especially loved gardening and the outdoors.

Mrs. Violet Bast Dead

BLACK RIVER-Mrs. Violet Gingerich Bast, 55, Black River, R. D. 1, widow of Elmer Bast, died Sunday morning in St. Joseph's hospital, Syracuse, where she had un dergone open heart surgery Wednesday.3 1968

Long in poor health with asthma. the heart surgery had been planned, even before the death of her husband on Sept. He died unexpectedly at the age of 59, of a coronary aftack suffered while unloading grain from a truck on his farm. Local residents had responded to a call for B positive blood for Mrs. Bast's operation.

OWVILLE - Gordon Gingerich, 94, Dowling Park, Fla., formerly of Division Street, died Saturday morning, January 9 at his extended care residence.

Born on February 22, 1921, in Baden, Ont., son of the late Moses and Nettie Boshart Gingerich. He attended schools in New Bremen, West Martinsburg, and Lowville School and Free Academy.

He married Loretta Zehr on June 3, 1945 in the First Mennonite Church of New Bremen.

Gordon worked for Crown Zellerbach as an electrician for 11 years. He opened his own business, Lowville Electric, until 1973. He was an electrical inspector until 1978. He and Loretta moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1980. He operated his own electrical business, Heritage Electric, for 10 years. He was a member of the Copenhagen and then the Lowville Rural Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed spending time at Chase Lake where he had built two camps. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with his family.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter; two sons. Gordon was also survived by his grandchildren; also great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Loretta; brothers Clifford, Howard, Vernon and his sisters Violet Bast, Rita Western, Alice Moshier, and Frances Burlingame. A grandson, Zachary Komorowski, also died before him.

A memorial service will be held in Florida at Beulah Baptist Church.

There will be a service with burial in West Lowville, in late August, for family and friends.

Luella was born 87 years ago in East Zorra Township on November 3, 1922, the daughter of the late Noah and Nancy Erb. Beloved wife of the late Roy Nafziger (November 9, 2008). Dear mother of Sheryl of Kitchener and Gail of Waterloo. Special aunt to Wendy O'Brien Ewara and her husband Ewara Monday Ewara and Grandma to their children Emmanuel, Eyo and Emelia (Eme).

Survived by her sister Edna O'Brien and her husband Gerald of Waterloo, and brother Wilfred Erb and his wife Rita of Collingwood, sisters-in-law Vera Helmuth and Dora Wagler both of New Hamburg. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Luella was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church .

Predeceased by her parents, brothers Clayton Erb and his wife Marjorie, Melvin Erb and his wife Edith, Vernon Erb, and Ray Erb and his wife Lucy; brothers-in law John Nafziger and his wife Mildred; Lorne Wagler, and Norman Helmuth.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, December 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Luella's life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, December 19 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Snyder officiating. Reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at St. Agatha Mennonite Church prior to the service.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter (Rose Marie), 3 sons (James, Peter, and John), all at home, his parents of Wellesley, Ont.; 3 brothers (Mervin, Bamberg, Ont.; Clarence, Kitchener, Ont.; and Elton, New Dundee, Ont.), and 6 sisters (Irene-Mrs. Menno Albright, Petersburg, Ont.; Barbara - Mrs. Elmer Roth, Britton, Ont.; Idella - Mrs. Alvin Leis, Wellesley, Ont.; Janet - Mrs. George Rush, Kitchener, Ont.; Burnetta - Mrs. Ralph Ruby, London, Ont.; and Mary - Mrs. Steven Gingerich, Zurich, Ont.). He accepted Christ as his Saviour in youth and remained loyal to the end. Funeral services were held at the Riverdale Mennonite Church, Milbank, Ont., May 25, in charge of Menno Zehr and Orland Gingerich. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Millbank - Earl Kropf, 38, of Millbank, died at Listowel Memorial Hospital early today.

In ill health for six months, he had been in hospital for 10 days.

Mr. Kropf, son of John Kropf and Mary Ann Lichti of Wellesley, was born near St. Agatha May 12, 1920.

He married Selina Lichty of Millbank at Riverdale Mennonite Church, Aug. 31, 1949.

Mr. and Mrs. Kropf lived in Wellesley for two years where Mr. Kropf operated a shoe repair shop.

They moved to Millbank in 1951.

Mr. Kropf was employed at the Hergott furniture plant in St. Clements.

Surviving are his wife, his parents, three sons, James, 6, Peter, 5, and John, 2, one daughter, Rosemarie, 8; three brothers, Mervin of Bamberg, Clarence of Kitchener, and Elton of New Dundee and six sisters, Mrs. Menno (Irene) Albright, Petersburg; Mrs. Elmer (Barbara) Roth, Briton; Mrs. Alvin (Idella) Leis of Wellesley; Mrs. George (Janet) Rush, Kitchener; Mrs. Ralph (Burnetta) Ruby, London, and Mrs. Stephen (Mary Ellen) Gingerich, Zurich.

The body is resting at the home in Millbank where a private funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. Public service will follow at Riverdale Mennonite Church at 2: 15. Internment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Menno Zehr and Rev. Orland Gingerich will officiate.

Helen Seyler, born in Phillipsburg, Ontario and former resident of Kitchener and Elmira, was the beloved wife of 64 years of Lloyd A. Lautenschlager. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Jeff) Beisel, Jeffery (Penny) and Gregory (Adrienne ) Lautenschlager, Erin (Jeremy) Carpenter, Andrew and Matthew Mundell, and great grandmother of Rebecca and Tyson Lautenschlager, Kayla and Courtney Beisel.

Dear sister of Hilda Hohl (Elmer predeceased) of Kitchener and Wilfred Seyler and wife Rita of Wellesley. Aunt Helen will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother Edgar and his wife Catherine.

Mrs. Lautenschlager was a long-time and faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran in Kitchener and the Historical Automobile Society of Canada.

Sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. On Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonard Roth of Baden.

He was born in South Easthope township 63 years ago, a son of the late Solomon and Amelia (Erb) Roth. He was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg where he had enjoyed fellowship in the cluster groups. He had volunteered at the Annual Mennonite Relief Sale in New Hamburg for many years and enjoyed gardening as his hobby. Len was a participant in the Wilmot Seniors Woodworking Shop in Baden.

Beloved husband of Ruth (Gerber) Roth whom he married September 28, 1957. Loving father of Karen and her husband Isaac Tang of Vancouver, B.C., Barry Roth and his wife Sharon of Kitchener, Darryl Roth of Victoria B.C., Melanie and her husband Paul Smith of London. Ever remembered by two brothers and one sister, Vernon Roth and his wife Ruby, Lorne Roth and Florence Roth, all of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norman and Madelene Gerber of Millbank, Sydney and Esther Sauder of Milverton and Stanley and Mary Ropp of Tavistock.

ROTH, Curtis L. On Tuesday. May 25, 1993, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Curtis Roth, of New Hamburg.

He was born in East Zorra township 73 years ago, a son of the late Simon and Selma (Lichty) Roth. He was a member of the Steinmann Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden and had owned and operated C.L. Roth Transport for a number of years and latterly worked at Erb Transport. New Hamburg. He was a member of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fel- lowship, Stratford Chapter; a member of Truck Stop Evangelism, Woodstock and had formerly been a councillor and mayor of New Hamburg for a number of years.

Beloved husband of Pearl Mary Brenneman, whom he married. March 5, 1941. Lovingly remembered by one son. Richard and his wife Gloria of RR 1, Milverton; one daughter, Judy and her husband Ken Barker of RR 4. Woodstock. Ever remembered by three grandchildren, Nancy and Ken Riegert, Spencer and Fraser Roth and one great-grandson, Adam Riegert. Dear brother of Howard and his wife Helen of Fergus and Marjorie and her husband Edgar Minke of White Rock, B.C.

Curtis was predeceased by one daughter, Carol.

Howard was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church, Kitchener. Rev. U. K. Weber performed the wedding ceremony in Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church Saturday which united in marriage his granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Weber, and Mr. Walter Carl Litwiller. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Weber, R.R. 3, Kitchener, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Litwiller, Richmond Ave. White gladioli and asters decorated the church for the ceremony. Mrs. Richard Simmons, sister of the bride, sang " The Lord's Prayer" and "A Wedding Prayer." Organist was Miss Helen Weber. Entering the church with her father, the bride was gownes in slipper satin fashioned with a nylon lace yoke, lily-point sleeves and a full skirt extending into a train. Imported flowers held her nylon fingertip veil to her satin halo headdress. The bride carried a cascade of sweetheart roses and white feathered carnations and stephanotis. Miss Elaine Rohr was maid of honor. Her leaf green taffeta gown was styled with bouffant skirt, and the bertha collar formed brief sleeves. A halo had and mittens of self material complet- ed her costume. She carried a cascade of yellow talisman roses. Miss Sara Ann Weber was bridesmaid and Miss Evelyn Ann Weber, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. Both were gowned in mauve taffeta which was styled similarily to the maid of honor's. Halo hats and mittens completed their ensembles. Both bridesmaids carried cascades of Queen Elizabeth roses. Mr. Manley Koch, Hilda Pl., performed the duties of best man. Mr. Walter Workentin, Waterloo, and Mr. Wilfred Erb, R.R. 2, Petersburg, were ushering. Eighty guests were received for dinner at the church by Mrs. Weber who chose for the occasion a Florida blue dress of faconne crepe with navy accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy crepe dress and navy an light blue accessories. Mixed corsages with red roses were worn by both mothers. Mr. and Mrs. Litwiller travelled to Muskoka and other northern points for their wedding trip. The bride donned a powder blue ny- lon dress, navy accessories and pinned a white gardenia at her shoulder. She carried a pink shortie coat. The couple will reside at 24 Richmond Ave. Children

WALTER "WALLY" LITWILLER 1929 - 2009 Wally passed away suddenly, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Thursday, February 26, 2009. He was 79. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Weber), to whom he was married for 58 years. He is the loved and respected father of Michael Litwiller and his wife Janice of Waterloo, Kim and her husband Don Bowman of Toronto, Kevin Litwiller and his wife Sandra of Kitchener and Maureen Litwiller of Waterloo. Wally will be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Nicole and her husband James Hruden, Christopher Litwiller and Ellysia Turnbull, Rebecca Bowman and Joshua Bowman, Ruby and Sophie Litwiller and three great-granddaughters, Cianna, Gemma and Lila. Brother of Neil Litwiller and his wife Joyce, Arlene and her husband Walter Brenneman of Kitchener, and Ray Litwiller and his wife Carol of Waterloo. He was predeceased by his parents, Barbara (Kropf) and Irvin Litwiller. Wally was employed at Waterloo Printing for 30 years. In 1977 he became the owner and operated the business for an additional 17 years. He retired in 1994. He was an active member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church where he sang in the choir from the age of 17 until his last practice a week ago. He also sang in the Grand Philharmonic Choir and was a member of Westmount Golf and Country Club. A special place for Wally was the family cottage at Diamond Lake near Bancroft. Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, Art Kropf passed away in his 76th year after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday January 27, 2013. Loving husband and best friend of Therese "Teri" Kropf (nee. Koebel). Predeceased by his parents Clayton Kropf and Clara Bast. Cherished father of Kevin (Wendy) of Australia and Brenda Kersey (Rob) of Princeton. Beloved grandfather of Alanna, Chad, Matt, Josh, Brandon, Keenan (Lynea) and Shelby and great-grandson Sebastian. HEIDELBERG-Roger Mayer of Heidelberg died at his home early today after a lengthy illness. He was 17.

A lifelong resident of Heidelberg, he was the son of Mrs. Edgar Mayer and the late Mr. Mayer. He was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church.

Besides his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Arnold, Robert and Leonard, all of Heidelberg, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Rachel Mayer of Kitchener.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by two sisters.

The body will be at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley, until noon Sunday when removal will be made to St. Agatha Church for service at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Gerald Schwartzentruber and Rev. Elmer Schwartzentruber. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

CJET's Kitty Bast tries for record

Smiths Falls, Ont. Kitty Bast, known locally as "the lady with a heart" will try to break her own on-air marathon once again this year. She will be hosting a special broadcast, beginning Feb. 12th and hopefully running through to Feb. 17. The marathon will be presented in memory of the late Jack Pollie, founder of CJET, who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. Monies received through the broadcast will go to the M.S. Society for their work in research and patient services. Close to $30,000.00 has been raised in this way in the past two years.

Fellow broadcaster Terry Shea began the marathon idea with a special broadcast lasting close to a week. Kitty has done the show for the past two years breaking the record each time. This year, to set a new record Kitty will have to stay on the air from Sunday night at 11:30 and go through to Friday night at 7:30 with a 90 minute break each day.

Country entertainers have been quite supportive of the marathon, dropping by to give a hand during the course of the show. More than 40 country personalities helped out last year.

Kitty, who has overcome a bout of cancer and a heart attack, knows what it's like to be bedridden. She maintains a regular schedule of visiting her "21 local friends", most of whom are shut-ins, and all of who will be rooting for her to best her own personal record of 102½ hours.

Kitty always had a love for country music and performing and was inducted in the Canadian Country Hall of Fame. Thanks to the nurses and staff for their kind care. Marlene had a passion for quilting, cooking and baking, and enjoyed the many activities her and Clare would be a part of in the Morningside Community. She will be dearly missed by all her friends.
