On March 20, 1900, she was united in marriage to Aaron Gingerich, who predeceased her Feb. 1, 1942. Surviving are 2 sons (Isaiah, Wilmot, Ont.; Elmer, Baden.) 4 daughters (Lavina, at home; Emma-Mrs. Chris O. Erb, Wellesley, Ont.; Laura-Mrs. Isaac Ruby, Tavistock, Ont.; and Mabel-Mrs. Henry Wagler, Shakespeare, Ont.), 16 grandchildren, one brother (Menno Wagler, Baden, Ont.), and one sister (Mrs. Rebecca Bender, New Hamburg, Ont.). One grandchild and one sister (Mrs. David R. Bender) preceded her in death. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and became a faithful member of the Steinman A.M. Church near Baden. In failing health the last year, from a heart condition she spent much of her time reading God's Word. Death followed a three-day illness. Funeral services were held Sept. 30 at her home by Ben Gingerich and at the Steiman Church by Peter Nafziger and Moses O. Jantzi. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Bender.--Barbara, daughter of Nicholas and Veronica (Gascho) Wagler, was born in Wilmot, Waterloo Co., Ont., Feb. 24, 1883*; passed away at Stratford General Hospital, May 15, 1945; aged 63 y. 2 m. 20 d. In early youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and was received into the Wilmot A.M. Church by her grandfather, Bishop John Gascho. On Oct. 6, 1904, she was joined in holy matrimony to David R. Bender of the East Zorra congregation. She transferred her membership to the East Zorra Church and remained a faithful and consistent member until called to her reward. She leaves her bereaved companion, 2 sons (William and Lorne, both of Wilmot Twp.), 2 daughters (Fannie--Mrs. David Lichti, on the homestead; and Mary Ann, at home), ten grandchildren, one brother (Pre. Menno Wagler, Baden, Ont.), and 2 sisters (Susanna Gingerich, of Baden; and Rebecca--Mrs. John Bender, of Wilmot). One daughter (Alma) and four grandchildren predeceased her. Funeral services were held at the home by Dan Wagler and at the East Zorra A. M. Church by Nelson Litwiller and Daniel Jutzi. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

She will be missed by a brother-in-law, Henry Wagler of Millbank and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ruby of New Hamburg. Lovingly remembered by a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by two brothers, Isaiah and his wife Marian Gingerich, Elmer and his wife Sarah Gingerich; three sisters, Emma and her husband Chris O. Erb, Laura and her husband Isaac Ruby and Mabel Wagler. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

RUBY, Violet - Passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at her home in New Hamburg. Violet was formerly of R.R. 2, Tavistock. She was born 91 years ago in Wilmot Township and was the daughter of the late Menno and Leah (Brenneman) Wagler. Beloved wife of the late Orlando Ruby, who predeceased her August 31, 2002. Loving mother of Anna Mae and William Kuepfer of Listowel, Arlene Hohner of Brunner, Paul Ruby of Manitoba, Dorcas and Arvel Shepherd of New Hamburg, David and Diane Ruby of Brandon, Manitoba, Deborah and Timothy Johnson of Medina, Ohio. Sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; John David and Jane Keeper and their children Anna and David, Charles and Virginia Keeper and their children Caleb and Naomi, Mary Beth Saunders and her children Renee and Brianna, Eric Shepherd, Rebecca and Steve Lachine and their children Isabella, Daniel and Micah, Rachael and Layton Schwartz and their daughter Lila, Joshua and Stephanie Ruby and their children Oliver and Kieren, Laurel and Ben Loewen and their daughter Evalette, Daniel, Aaron, Jeremiah, Maria and Nathan Johnson. Remembered by sister-in-law Mary Ann Ruby of New Hamburg and a number of nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her step-mother Sarah (Brenneman) Wagler, son Glen Ruby, infant son "Samuel", brothers Elmer and wife Selena Wagler, Clayton and wife Dorothy Wagler, sister Elmina and husband Ben Ruby and sister-in-law Frieda Wagler.

Violet was baptized in her youth at Steinmann Mennonite Church where she was a life-long member. Violet enjoyed knitting, crocheting, rug making, flowers and gardening. He was an active member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg and was a past president of the Haysville Sunshine Club. Beloved husband of the former Selena Ruby who predeceased him December 22, 1986. HAYSVILLE, Nov. 18.- Funeral service for Leighton Gingerich, Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Gingerich of Southwest Wilmot, who died Friday, was held this afternoon at Steinman's Amish-Mennonite church, Baden. Bishop Mosos Jantzi officiated. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

The child had been ill a week with pneumonia. He was two months and 31 days of age. Surviving are hie parents, a brother, Stanley and two sisters. Catherine and Margaret, all at home.

Her pioneering spirit, zest for life, gracious friendship and commitment to peace and justice enriched those around her and will live on for years to come. Beloved wife of Ron Zehr whom she married on July 28, 1956. Cherished mother and grandmother to Bob and wife Connie Zehr and their children Celene & Eric; Don and wife Wendy Cressman Zehr and their children Tess and partner Jake and Michaela; Lynn and wife Julie Zehr and their son Blake; Will and wife Shannon Zehr and their son Lliam; Kathy Zehr and her children Elisabeth, Malcolm and Sheldon; and Mike and wife Denise Maurer and their children Mike, Matthew and Marc. Ruth is survived by her sister Marj Kaethler and brother Cleo Bender and his wife Joan, sisters-in-law Katie Bender and Joyce Zehr and brother-in-law Glenn Zehr and wife Mary Ellen as well as by her many nieces, nephews and extended families. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Vernon and wife Katie Zehr, Art and wife Dorothy Bender, Olive and husband Orville Bender, Armand Bender, Lillian and husband Sam Lichty and Daniel Zehr.

Ruth was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. Ruth was a long-time volunteer of the Wilmot Horticultural Society and the New Hamburg Thrift Centre and in her later years became an Author.

Family and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 2 \endash 4 & 7 \endash 9 p.m. for a time of memorial visiting. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg with Pastors Jan Steckley and Kevin Peters Unrau officiating.
