    Notes:

    Gingerich. - Susannah, daughter of the late Nicholas and Veronica (Gascho) Wagler, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., March 15, 1877; died at her home, in Baden, Ont., Sept. 28, 1949; aged 72 y. 6 m. 13 d. On March 20, 1900, she was united in marriage to Aaron Gingerich, who predeceased her Feb. 1, 1942. Surviving are 2 sons (Isaiah, Wilmot, Ont.; Elmer, Baden.) 4 daughters (Lavina, at home; Emma-Mrs. Chris O. Erb, Wellesley, Ont.; Laura-Mrs. Isaac Ruby, Tavistock, Ont.; and Mabel-Mrs. Henry Wagler, Shakespeare, Ont.), 16 grandchildren, one brother (Menno Wagler, Baden, Ont.), and one sister (Mrs. Rebecca Bender, New Hamburg, Ont.). One grandchild and one sister (Mrs. David R. Bender) preceded her in death. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and became a faithful member of the Steinman A.M. Church near Baden. In failing health the last year, from a heart condition she spent much of her time reading God's Word. Death followed a three-day illness. Funeral services were held Sept. 30 at her home by Ben Gingerich and at the Steiman Church by Peter Nafziger and Moses O. Jantzi. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    GINGERICH, LAVINA Passed away, at her residence, Nithview Home, New Hamburg, Lavina Gingerich, formerly of Baden.

    She was born in Wilmot township 94 years ago, a daughter of the late Aaron and Susannah (Wagler) Gingerich. She was a member of Steinman Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden, and had worked at the Baden Cheese Factory for over 40 years.

    She will be missed by a brother-in-law, Henry Wagler of Millbank and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ruby of New Hamburg. Lovingly remembered by a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by two brothers, Isaiah and his wife Marian Gingerich, Elmer and his wife Sarah Gingerich; three sisters, Emma and her husband Chris O. Erb, Laura and her husband Isaac Ruby and Mabel Wagler. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

    On Friday, June 12, 1998, transfer will be made to the Steinman Mennonite Church for the service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Herb Schultz officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Nithview Home or Steinman Mennonite Church.

    He was born in Wilmot Township 91 years ago, a son of the late Aaron and Susannah (Wagler) Gingerich. Isaiah was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden and a member of the Especially for Senior's, Baden, where he enjoyed playing crokinole. Beloved husband of Marian Gingerich who predeceased him December 26, 1994. Loving father of Stanley and his wife Marie, Stephen and his wife Sharon, all of RR 1 New Hamburg, Catherine and her husband John Rudy, Mildred and her husband Sam Roth and Edith Gingerich all of New Hamburg and Margaret and her husband Ken Ruby of Tavistock. Lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Lavina Gingerich of Nithview Home, New Hamburg. Also missed by brothers-in-law, Henry Wagler of Millbank and a sister-in-law Mary Ann Ruby of New Hamburg. He was predeceased by a son Leighton in infancy; a brother, Elmer and his wife Sarah; three sisters, Emma and her husband Chris O. Erb, Laura and her husband Isaac Ruby and Mabel Wagler.     GINGERICH, Elmer -- On Saturday, April 7, 1979, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Elmer Gingerich of Route 2, Baden, age 72 years. He was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Route 2, Baden. Lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Sarah Jutzi, whom he married in 1932. Dear father of Elroy of Route 2, Petersburg, Harold of Route 2, Baden, Irene (Mrs. Alvin Schultz) of Milverton, Viola (Mrs. Jock MacGillivary), of Burnaby B.C., and Leola (Mrs. Elmer Roth) of Baden. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, one brother Isaiah of New Hamburg and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Erb, of Wellesley and Lavina Gingerich of Baden. He was predeceased by his parents, the late Aaron Gingerich and the former Sussanah Wagler and two sisters, Mrs Laura Ruby and Mabel (Mrs. Henry Wagler). The late Mr. Gingerich is resting at the Ormand-Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg Chapel, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg until noon on Tuesday, April 10, when removal will be made to Steinmann Mennonite Church where service will be conducted at 2: 30 p.m., with Rev Vernon Zehr and Rev. Elmer Schwartzentruber officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

    Gingerich.- Elmer, son of Aaron and Susan (Wagler) Gingerich, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Aug. 6, 1906; died at St. Marys Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Apr. 7, 1979; aged 72 y. On Nov. 16, 1932, he was married to Sarah Jutzi, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Elroy R. and Harold R.), 3 daughters (Leola-Mrs. Elmer Roth, Viola-Mrs. Jack MacGillevry, and Irene-Mrs. Alvin Schultz), one brother (Isaiah), and 2 sisters (Lavina and Emma-Mrs. Chris Erb). He was a member of Steinman Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Apr. 10, in charge of Vernon Zehr and Elmer Schwartzentruber; interment in Steinman Cemetery.

    LEIGHTON GINGERICH By Record Correspondent

    HAYSVILLE, Nov. 18.- Funeral service for Leighton Gingerich, Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Gingerich of Southwest Wilmot, who died Friday, was held this afternoon at Steinman's Amish-Mennonite church, Baden. Bishop Mosos Jantzi officiated. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    The child had been ill a week with pneumonia. He was two months and 31 days of age. Surviving are hie parents, a brother, Stanley and two sisters. Catherine and Margaret, all at home.

    ROTH, Mildred Ann Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, March 30, 2018 at her residence. Mildred was born 76 years ago in Kitchener, Ontario, a daughter of the late Isaiah and Marian Gingerich. Beloved wife and best friend of Lloyd "Sam" Roth. Cherished mother to Andrew Roth and his wife Jennifer Helmuth. Loving grandmother to Samuel Roth. Mildred is survived by her brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Stanley and Marie Gingerich, Catherine and John Rudy, Margaret and Ken Ruby, Edith Gingerich, Stephen and Sharon Gingerich, Mildred Roth, Anna Maschke, Leola Roth, Gordon and Carol Roth, Ruth and Bruce Steinmann as well as by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Jean and Harold Schultz, Albert Maschke and Elmer Roth. Mildred was a teacher for 35 years and a life long learner. She was an active volunteer who served on numerous boards and supported female leadership in the Mennonite church and broader community. Her pioneering spirit, zest for life, gracious friendship and commitment to peace and justice enriched those around her and will live on for years to come. Family and friends are invited to a time of visiting at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, TODAY Monday, April 2, 2018 from 5 - 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. where pastors Myrna Miller-Dyck and Steve Drudge will officiate. Interment in Steinmann Mennonite Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations would be appreciated to Interfaith Counselling, Shalom Counselling or MEDA Mennonite Economic Development Association.
