BATTLER, Howard David - Went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 17, 1987, Howard Battler of 67 Joseph St., Breslau, aged 76 years. He was a member of Breslau Missionary Church; a long time employee of Hunsberger Lumber, Kitchener.
Dear husband of Caroline Isabelle (Belle) Battler; loving father of John and his wife Penny of Kitchener, Dan and his wife Gloria of Breslau; brother of Elton of Brantford and Nile of Waterloo. Also survived by three grandchildren, Tori, Vicki and Brent. Predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Battler's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Water- loo, 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. At noon Monday, transfer will be made to Breslau Missionary Church for funeral service at 2 p.m., Rev. Ted Losch officiating. Inter- ment Breslau Mennonite Cemetery. Donations to Emmanuel Bible College or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Funeral service was held Monday in Waterloo for Marie Battler, of 228 Murdock Avenue, Waterloo. She died November 14, 1986, at K-W hospital. She was 73.
She was the mother of Joseph Lehmann, of Elmira, William Lehmann, of St. Clements, Helen Putnam, James, Terrance, and Bruce Lehmann, all of Waterloo, Elaine (Mrs. James Crowe), Catherine (Mrs. Theodore Bowman), and Susan (Mrs. Michael Fehrenbach), all of Kitchener; sister of Nile Battler, of Kitchener, Howard Battler, of Breslau, Elton Battler, of Brantford, and Elizabeth Leyes, of Waterloo; also survived by 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lehman, her parents, Wesley and Ida Battler, and two brothers.
Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery, Waterloo.

LEYES, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Battler) - Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary's General Hospital. Kitchener. on Monday. July 8. 2002. in her 88th year, following a stroke.
Betty had been a resident of Lanark Place Retirement Home for the past three years. Betty was born in Wilmot township on January 16, 1915. She was predeceased by her husband. Norbert. on June 18, 1979.
Survived by her children, John and his wife Esther of Miami, Fla., Joanne and her husband Ian Pirie, Joyce Siege Jane and her husband Barry Vetero, Norbert (Buddy), all of Kitchener and Janine and her husband William Loth of Waterloo. Also survived by six grandchildren, Michael Leyes and his wife Jennifer, Matthew Leyes, Tara Chapman and her husband Joel, Michelle Lehmann and her husband Jason. Lindsay Loth and Stephanie Vetero and by two great-grandchildren, Darby and Troy Lehmann.
Betty was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, G. Wesley Battler (1959) and Ida Christner (1987) and by her brothers, Christian, Clarence, Howard, Nile and Elton Battler and by her sister, Marie Lehmann. Also predeceased by one son, Joseph, in infancy.
Betty is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Genevieve Nauman, Belle Battler. Marjorie Battler and Wilhelmina Battler.
Betty was a longtime member of St. Agnes RC Parish in Waterloo and was also a member of St. Agnes Catholic Women's League. In addition. she was a member of Knights of Columbus Retired Members in Waterloo. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held at St Mark's Catholic Parish, 55 Driftwood Dr.. Kitchener, on Thursday. July 11.2002 at 11 a.m. Immediately following the mass, friends and relatives are invited to remain at St. Mark's for refreshments and a time to visit. A private family committal service will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo
