    Addison Geiger, 87, RR 2, Kitchener, died today at his home after a lengthy illness.

    Born in Wilmot Township July 22, 1875, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Geiger, he farmed all his life in Wilmot. He was a member of Bethel United Missionary Church, New Dundee.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Ann Myers, whom he married in Baden in 1904; two daughters, Mrs. Ezra (Vera) Schwass, RR 4, Stratford, and Ada Geiger, at home; one sister, Mrs. Henry Wettlaufer of Tavistock, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, until 10 am, Thursday, when removal will be made to Bethel United Missionary Church, New Dundee, for service at 3 pm. Rev. J. E. Montgomery will officiate and burial will be in Union Cemetery, New Dundee. Donations to the Women's Missionary Society Memorial fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Mrs. Ezra Schwass. 62. of RR 4. Stratford, died August 1 at Stratford General Hospital.

    The former Vera Geiger, she was born in Wilmot Township, June 11. 1906, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Addison Geiger. She was a member of the South Easthope United Church.

    In Nov. 1937. she married Ezra Schwass. The couple lived near New Dundee until 1947 when they moved to South Easthope Township.

    Surviving are her husband, Ezra John; two sons, Howard and Vernon, both of Tavistock; two daughters. Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Hatch. 28 Frederick St.. Stratford; Jean, at home: one sister. Miss Ida Geiger, Tavistock, seven grandchildren.

    The service was held at the Francis Funeral Home. Tavistock August 3 and burial was in Union Cemetery, New Dundee.

    Friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock, Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16 at 1: 30 pm. The Rev. Paul Field of Grace United Church, Tavistock, will officiate. Interment in New Dundee Union Cemetery.

    Donations to the Elevator fund of Grace United Church, Tavistock, would be appreciated.

(at Westmount Road), Kitchener, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday), where service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Interment Mannheim cemetery, Rev. Robert Gates of United Brethren in Christ Church, New Dundee officiating.

    WHOLE FAMILY STRICKEN - WITH DIPHTHERIA - ONE DEATH - Mannheim, Jan. 15. - The 7 months old child of Mr. and Mrs. J. Knechtel died on Saturday afternoon of diphtheria, after being ill only about 24 hours. The rest of the family are also down with the same sickness. Cherished grandfather of Douglas (Raffina), Kim (Jeff) Brenner, Tim (Tammy), Lisa (Tim) Koch; great-grandfather of Amy and Shereen Knechtel, Drew Rees, Nicole Brenner, Thomas, Katelyn and Kalea Knechtel, Dean and Erin Koch. Predeceased by a grandson, Gary, who died tragically in an accident in 1976. Joseph is predeceased by his brothers, Clarence, Richard, and a sister, Olivia Cober. James and Doris Cober of Kitchener, Bruce and Pauline Cober of Wellesley, Ardys and Richard Brenneman of New Hamburg, Catherine and James Winger of Fort Erie, Dorothy and Andrew Fraser of Tavistock and mother-in-law of Audrey Huber of RR 2, Petersburg. Sadly missed by 37 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Also remembered by a brother, Joseph Knechtel of Breslau; half-brothers and half-sisters, Esther and Eric Burkhardt, Jake Knechtel, Ella Fleming and Ruth Glasgow all of Kitchener. Olivia was predeceased by a son, Peter C. Cober; a number of grandchildren and siblings. Olivia was a member of Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church, RR 2, Petersburg where she served 40 plus years as a deacon's wife. She entertained many ministers, evangelists and missionaries from around the world in her home and acted as a second mother to many others as well as her own twelve children. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Tuesday, May 13, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Transfer will be made on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, to Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church for visitation from 9: 30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10: 30 a.m. Interment to follow in Rosebank Cemetery.     Howard worked at the J.G. Field Woollen Mill from 1955-1986 and at Martin Mills and New Life Mills from 1986-2003.

    He was predeceased by his wife, the former Esther Jutzi, on January 9, 2020. Howard is survived by four son, James and wife Cathy Schwass, Richard and wife Jo-Anne Schwass, Bruce Schwass and husband Matt Peck, Greg and wife Donna Schwass; three grandchildren, Daniel Schwass, Matthew Schwass and Meg Kau, and Olivia Schwass; his sister, Margaret Tugwood; his brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Linda Schwass; sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, Hilda and Elmer L. Wagler, Mary Ellen and husband Emanuel Brubacher, Nelson and Barbara Zehr along with several nieces, nephews and their families.
