    Alfred H. Schefter

    Requiem high mass for Alfred H. Schefter, 75, of 230 Murdock Cres., Waterloo, will be solemnized Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Louis. RC Church.

    Mr. Schefter, a blacksmith in Waterloo since 1914, died at work Tuesday. The body is at the Walsh Funeral Home, Waterloo, where prayers will be said Friday at 9: 45 a.m. The rosary will be recited there Thursday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Mr. Schefter was born Jan. 1, 1886, in Guelph. He was a member of St. Louis Church, the Holy Name Society, the Canadian Order of Foresters and League of the Sacred Heart.

    Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Minogue of Chicago, Mrs. William (Patricia) Michaels of Cleveland; three brothers, Frank of Detroit, Herman of Guelph, Frederick of Kitchener; ,two sisters, Mrs. Mary Harper of Guelph and Mrs., John (Lillian) Kerney of Toronto, and five grandchildren. Two. brothers and two sisters predeceased him.

    Alfred married Marie Anne Ferguson 17 Nov 1926, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Marie (daughter of Frederick K.     SCHEFTER, Reverend Charles - Passed away peacefully on June 1st in his 90th year. He was predeceased by his parents Herman and Gladys, brother Austin, sisters Verda and Mary (Johnson), and brothers-in-law Ray Middletown and Ray Norris.

    The family wishes to thank the nursing staff and PSWs at St. Joseph's Health Centre. They all came to love Father as he lived in their facility. The family also wishes to especially thank Dr. McPherson for her kindness and support during Father's stay at St. Joseph's. Father Charlie was ordained on May 26, 1956. His first parish was in Oakville and finished at St. Clement's in Cambridge.

    He served in parishes in Hamilton, Kitchener, Maryhill, Fergus, Elora, and Brantford. He loved golf and gardening at the cottage. He was especially kind to his mother in her declining years. Sunday supper with his mom and family was a regular occurrence.

    Visitation for Father Charles will take place at St. Clement's R.C. Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Clement's R.C. Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019. Interment will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery, Maryhill.
