    Notes:

    The latest victim in this district is Gilbert Becker, son of Mr. August Becker, of the Waterloo-Wilmot town-line, 3 ½ miles North West of Roseville. The deceased succumbed on Monday from an attack of pneumonia after a short illness, aged 28 years. Mrs. Becker, who is a daughter of Mr. Fried, Roseville, is also ill. There are three small children in the family.

    "BEAN, Margaret (Marg) -On Tuesday, March 4, 2003, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, at 86yrs of age, at the KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital.

    She was recently a resident of Pinehaven Retirement Home, but lived all her life in New Dundee, where she was a member of United Brethren Church.

    Marg, beloved wife of the late Oliver Bean (1985). Loving mother of Earle Bean and his wife Lorene and John Bean and his fiance Karen Kreutzweiser.Daughter of the late Gilbert Becker (1919) and Loretta Fried (1969) and step-daughter to the late Wilfred Wanner (1953).

    Grandma Marg to Dave Einwechter, Kellie, Mitchell, Brieanna and Darlene, Brad and Mallory Bell. Dear sister of Myrtle Vanderscoot, Susie Good, Ivy Musselman, Dorothy Shantz, the late Willard Becker, the late Ward Becker,the late Rita Hofstetter and the late Cleo Brodhaecker.

    VAN DER SCHOOT (Rosenberger), Myrtle - Passed away, on Friday October 10, 2008 at her residence Nithview Home, New Hamburg. Myrtle was born 90 years ago in New Dundee and was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Lauretta (Fried) Becker. Beloved wife of the late Peter Van der Schoot (1981) and the late Lorne Rosenberger (1949). Loving mother of Nancy and husband Ron Varley, Keith Rosenberger all of Baden and Ruth Ann Ramseyer of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by her 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Susie and husband Leroy Good of New Hamburg, Ivy Musselman of Waterloo, Dorothy Shantz of Mannheim and sister-in-law of John and wife Marg Hofstetter of Plattsville. Myrtle was predeceased by step-father, Wilfred Wanner; son-in-law, Clare Ramseyer; daughters-in-law, Emmaline Rosenberger, Maryann Rosenberger, Dorothy Holdenmeyer; two grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Kathleen Becker, Margaret and Oliver Bean, Ward and Helen Becker, Cleo and Harry Brodhaecker, Reta Hofstetter, Wayne Shantz, Elgin Musselman, Melvin Shantz, Layton and Flossie Rosenberger, Stuart and Doris Rosenberger, Hilda and Elgin Reist, Vera Rosenberger, Delton Rosenberger, Al and Tony Van der Schoot and a number in Holland. Myrtle was a member of Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, New Dundee and had fostered many children. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Monday October 13, 2008 from 5-8 p.m.. A memorial service to celebrate Myrtle's life will take place on Tuesday October 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lloyd Oakey officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery, New Dundee.     BECKER, Kenneth George Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener. Ken was born 76 years ago in New Dundee, Ontario and was the son of the late Bill and Kathleen (Miller) Becker. Beloved husband of Shirley Becker whom he married on September 14, 1963. Loving father of Lance and his wife Linda Becker of Seaforth and Lori Becker of New Hamburg. Cherished grandfather to Heather, Luke, Dalton, Amanda and Holly. Dear brother of Larry and Vivian Becker, Wally and Hana Becker, Ron and June Becker, Gord and Sheena Becker, Russ (Predeceased) and Lana Becker, Bryan and Susan Becker. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Ken worked for many years for Paul Weber Construction and went on to working for himself when he started his own company in 1996. Ken was a member of the New Dundee Optimist Club, President of Ontario Rural Softball enjoyed playing hockey and baseball and was also a part of the Canadian Dove Association.     BEAN, John Robert (Retired - O.P.P. Senior Detective Constable; formerly of New Dundee, Barrie, Bala and Oak Ridges) Passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital following a difficult, courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Karen (Stockie) Kreutzweiser. Stepfather of Kendra Ann George (Philip) and Kevin Kreutzweiser. Much loved Papa of Matthew William and Lillian Violet. Dear brother of Earle Bean (Lorene). Predeceased by his parents Marguerite (Becker) and Oliver Bean. John will be missed and remembered by both his and Karen's nieces and nephews, especially the "Daisies". He will also be missed by David Einwechter (Kellie) and their family, who were so loved by John. John was a dedicated O.P.P. officer who served "33 years, 1 month and 9 days". His dream appointment was as Drum Major of the Commissioner's Own Pipes and Drums of the O.P.P. He was a Past President of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobilers. John served as bodyguard for the Queen's visit as well as for Premier Bob Rae. He enjoyed the opportunity to travel to Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum. John finished his career with the O.P.P. as a Field Coordination and Intelligence Officer at Pearson International Airport. In his retirement, John had interesting adventures working as an international courier and assisting deportees back to their homeland. Special thanks to the CCAC Palliative Care Team, especially Sandra. The support of the Palliative Care Team at Freeport Hospital was exemplary. John's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 and from 10-10:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467. Memorial Service in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at New Dundee Cemetery following the reception.     BECKER, Glen Allan Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Glen Becker of RR#1 New Dundee in his 66th year. Glen was the son of the late Ward and Helen (Jones) Becker. He will be remembered by his sisters Doris and husband Perry Miller of RR#2 Petersburg and Kathy and husband Thom Martz of Roseville. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews Kevin and Wendy, Brad, Amy, Emily, Jeremy, by grandnephews Jordan and Jacksen and by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Glen had worked for J.M. Schneiders, Kitchener until his retirement.
