For the second time within several months did the Grim Reaper Death call at the home of Mr. Byron Schwartz, when, on Sunday morning his beloved wife, (nee Eliza Lederman), passed away after a month's illness with Bright's disease, at the age of 44 years, 1 month and 3 days. Deceased, who had been living here for a number of years, had, by her genial disposition, her pleasant and winsome ways, made many friends who sincerely regret to learn of her passing away while yet in the prime of life. There are left to mourn the death of a loving wife and mother, her husband, 3 daughters and 2 sons, namely, Evelyn (Mrs. A. Holm) of Kitchener; Violet, of Waterloo; Roxie, Willard and Harvey at home, also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Lederman, of Baden. Four brothers Charles of New Hamburg, William of Conestogo, Harry and Alex, of Baden, and two sisters, Mrs. Amos Leach, of Walkerton, and Mrs. Robert Knarr, of Conestogo, also survive. One daughter, Ruby, died last summer and one son also died some years ago. The funeral took place last Tuesday afternoon from her late home to the Methodist Church, where services was held, after which burial took place at the M. B. C. Cemetery here. The bereaved family will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their affliction.

A bright young life was brought to an early close by the death on Wednesday evening, last, of Ruby May, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Schwartz. Deceased was taken ill about seven weeks ago with appendicitis, for which she underwent an operation. Apparently she had recovered fairly well, when a second operation became necessary, a few days after which she began to fail and sank steadily until death relieved her of all earthly ills and pains on Wednesday evening. She had reached the age of 11 years, 7 months and 9 days.

She was of a bright and cheerful disposition and will be sorely missed by her many young friends, as well as by her bereaved parents and her brother and sisters, who have the heart-felt sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement.

The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon and was largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near.

SCHWARTZ, Harvey Irvin - Peacefully at Trinity Village Nursing Home, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1996, Harvey went to be with his Lord, at the age of 80 years.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family at St. Mary's Hospital on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the age of 90.
Beloved husband of Doreen (nee Morgenroth) Houston for 67 years. Loving father of Donna Wile (Malcolm), Dan and David (Karin). Greatly loved grandpa to Christina "Chuck" Kemp, Dani Cudney (Robin), Michael (Gina), Jessie Percival (Chris) and Wes. Dear great-grandfather of Damien and Kayden Cudney

Dear brother of Peggy Shantz (the late Maurice). Will be missed by nieces, nephews and cousins.

In 1925 Jack was born in Kitchener. In 1944, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the HMCS Uganda. He was an accompanist for the Schneider Male Chorus and the Director of the Knox Presbyterian Church Choir for 47 years and was also a member of the Kiwanis Club. Jack retired in 1985 from J.M. Schneider after 42 years of dedicated service.

Jack's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. A memorial service will take place at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2015 followed by a reception in the Elizabeth Room of the church.

SHANTZ, Margaret Arlene "Peggy" (nee Houston) April 13, 1928 - March 22, 2016 Peggy died peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener, at the age of 87, just a few weeks shy of her birthday. Predeceased by her husband Maurice (Moe) Shantz and brother Jack Houston. She is survived by son Jim and his wife Heather, daughter Cathy McConnell and grandchildren Michael and Leah Sonnenberg. After completing high school at KCI, Peggy graduated from Normal School (Teacher's College) in Stratford, ON. She began her teaching career in a one-room school house on Fountain Street near Breslau. She later taught at Humewood School in Toronto. She then worked as a Supply Teacher in Kitchener from 1961 to 1970. After her teaching career, Peggy delivered Meals on Wheels for 25 years, as well as driving for Care Ring and helping out in the Gift Shop at Freeport Hospital. Peggy was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. She was co-founder of the Thrift Shop, choir member, church secretary for a number of years, and served a term as President of the Women's Association. Friends and family will remember her for her kindness and great sense of humour. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the compassion and care provided by the staff at Buttonworks Wing, Sunnyside Home, over the past five months. In addition, thanks to the staff at Emmanuel Village for their help and thoughtfulness during Peggy's time in their care.
