On June 6, 1926, he was married to Ida Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters (Catherine - Mrs. Charles Vergien, Mary - Mrs. Richard Steinman, and Stella Gretchen - Mrs. James Federspiel), 6 grandchildren, 3 brothers (Aaron, Ezra, and Amos), and 4 sisters (Mattie - Mrs. Aaron Kipfer, Nancy - Mrs. Amos Zehr, Sarah - Mrs. Rudy Jantzi, and Elizabeth - Mrs. Emmanuel Gerber). He was a member of the Clarence Center Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 1, in charge of Edward Diener; interment in Good Cemetery.

    KUEPFER, Mrs. Magdelena (Mattie)

    On Friday, June 13, 1980, at her home, Magdelena Kuepfer (Steckly) of RR 1, Newton, age 81 years. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Mennonite Church.

    Wife of Aaron W. Kuepfer; mother of Lorne, Ezra and Mrs. Laura Carter, all of RR 1, Newton. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ezra Steckly and Amos Steckly, both of Wellesley and two sisters, Nancy (Mrs. Amos Zehr) of RR 3, Wellesley and Elizabeth (Mrs. Emmanuel Gerber) of RR 1, Millbank. She was predeceased by her parents the late Nicholas Steckly and the former Catherine Jantzi, two brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

    The late Mrs. Kuepfer will be resting at the home of her son, Lorne Kuepfer, Lot 8, Con. 9, Mornington township, RR 1, Newton, after 7 p.m. (DST), Saturday, June 14, 1980, until Monday, June 16, where service will be held at 1 p.m. (dst), with Bishop Rufus Kuepfer officiating. Interment to follow in the 7th Line Amish Mennonite cemetery, Mornington township.

    Arrangements are through the Mark-Jutzi Funeral Home, Milverton Chapel.

    ZEHR, Mrs. Amos (Nancy)-Peacefully, on Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at the Brunner Nursing Home, Nancy Zehr, formerly of Millbank, she was born in Wilmot township, 93 years ago.

    Daughter of the late Nicholas Steckly and the late Catherine Jantzi. Nancy was a faithful member of the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. Beloved mother of Katherine and her husband Cornelius Erb of Millbank, Joseph and his wife Deborah Zehr of Millbank; ever remembered by a daughter-in-law, Erma Zehr of Brunner; sister-in-law of Mary (Mrs. John Zehr) of RR 1, Wellesley and Katie (Mrs. Ezra Steckly) of Wellesley and Emma (Mrs. Amos Steckly) of RR 1, Brunner; lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.

    Predeceased by her husband Amos Zehr, August 6, 1991; and by one son, Mervin Zehr in 1967 also by five brothers, Peter, Aaron, Ezra, Amos, and one infant brother and by five sisters, Mattie Kuepfer, Sarah Jantzi, Elizabeth Gerber, Katie and Mary Steckly.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry Street, Wellesley, where family and friends will be received today (Monday) from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Family service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m. to be followed by funeral service at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church at 2 p.m., Bishop Arthur Gerber will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Master International Ministries, would be appreciated.

    WELLESLEY - Mrs. Rudy Jantzi died suddenly at her home at RR 1, Wellesley, Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack. She was 59.

    Mrs. Jantzi was the former Sarah Steckly and was born in Wilmot Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Steckly. A member of Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, Wellesley, she had lived with her husband on a Wilmot Township farm since their marriage Jan. 15, 1931.

    Surviving are her husband; three sons, Melvin and Jacob of RR 1, Wellesley, and Murray, at home; three daughters, Mrs. John (Ella Mae) Wagler of RR 1, Wellesley, Mrs. Mahlon (Mary) Gerber of RR 1, Millbank, and Alice at home; three brothers, Aaron of RR 1, Wellesley, Ezra of RR 1, Bamburg, and Amos of Wellesley; three sisters, Mrs. Aaron (Mattie) Kuepfer of RR 1, Newton, Mrs. Amos (Nancy) Zehr of RR 1, Bamburg, and Mrs. Emanuel (Elizabeth) Gerber of RR 1, Millbank, and 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

    The body will be at the family home after 8 p.m. today. A family service will be held at the home at 1 p.m. Saturday, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. Bishop Samuel Roth will officiate. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Gerber of RR 1, Millbank; dear mother of Enos and his wife Rita Gerber of Milverton, Marie and her husband Ivan Jantzi of RR 1, Brunner, Kathryn and her husband Willis Kuepfer of RR 1, Newton, Arthur and his wife Laurene Gerber of RR 1, Gads Hill, Amy and her husband Melvin Kuepfer of RR 1, Newton, Nicholas and his wife Emma Gerber of RR 3, Wellesley, Stanley and his wife Erma Gerber of Brunner, Margaret and her husband Raymond Wagler of Wellesley, Shirley and her husband Larry Gerber of RR 1, Millbank, David and his wife Marilyn Gerber of RR 1, Millbank; dear sister of Nancy and her husband Amos Zehr of Millbank; dear sister-in-law of Ida Steckly of Corfu, N.Y., Mary Zehr of RR 1, Wellesley, Katie Steckly of Wellesley and Emma Steckly of RR 1, Brunner. She is lovingly remembered by 37 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.

    She was predeceased by one son, Gordon, October 20, 1963; also by one grandson and one great-granddaughter, four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The family service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, at 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church at 2 p.m.. Rev. Mahlon Gerber will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    Memorials to the Christian Missions to the Communist World would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

    STECKLEY, Aaron - Of Route 1, Wellesley, died suddenly Tuesday, October 25, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. He was born in Wilmot Township 65 years ago.

    Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Steckley. He farmed in Wilmot Township, retiring April 1, 1975. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church.

    PEREZ, Elaine (nee Steckley) Of Devon, Alberta, passed away in hospital on September 15, 2012, at the age of 63. She was formerly of Kitchener and of Wellesley, Ontario. Beloved wife of Manuel Perez and dear mother of Natalie Perez of Devon. Predeceased by her parents Amos and Esther Steckley, and stepmother Emma Steckley. Remembered by her brother Ralph and Maryann Steckley of Wellesley. Stepsisters and brothers Doris and the late Wayne Dotzert of Wellesley, Raymond and the late Deborah Gerber of R.R. #1, Brunner, Mary Ellen and Arnold Yantzi of R.R. #1, Milverton, Lynda and Wesley Kuepfer of Milverton. A memorial service will be held on September 25th at the Alliance Church, Devon, Alberta. Cremation has taken place. Those wishing may make donations in Elaine's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Box 1224, Stn K, Toronto, Ontario M4P 9Z9.
