    Husband of Former Manchester Woman Dies

    C. A. Edward Schmitt, a Detroit realtor for 50 years, and husband of Sara Luise Scheurer, formerly of Manchester, died Friday afternoon. He was 73.

    Surviving in addition to his wife, are five brothers, Ezra W., Milton, J. Albert, Samuel, and August of Howell; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Strobell.

    Funeral services were Monday at 11 a. m. at the Harry A. Neely Funeral home in Detroit. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Manchester, at 1 p. m.

    Milt Schmitt, Ex-Eaton Head, Dies

    Former manager of the T. Eaton Company Ltd. store here Milton Henry (Milt) Schmitt, 74, died last night of a heart attack at his home, 479 Lancaster St. West, Bridgeport.

    He was found dead today seated in a chair in front of the television set which was still on.

    Born Sept. 6, 1887, in Tavistock, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Schmitt. He spent most of his business career in Kitchener. Mr. Schmitt joined the Lang-Tracey Company one of Kitchener's pioneer retail stores in 1910 and managed the furniture department when the firm sold out to Eaton's in 1927.

    Mr. Schmitt transferred to the Eaton staff and was named manager in 1930.

    His wife, the former Maude Elizabeth Gastmeier, predeceased him Dec 1, 1958. He was a member of Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Retired Business and Professional Men's Club.

    Surviving are two sons: Donald E. G. of Noranda, Que., Murray H. of Kitchener, three brothers, J. Albert Smith of Kitchener, Samuel O. Smith of Wilsons, August Schmitt of Howell, Mich., and eight grand-children. A daughter, Doris, two brothers and two sisters also predeceased him.

    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where service will be conducted Saturday at 2 pm by Rev. F. M. Faist and Rev. G. F. Barthel. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.     Miss Adeline Schmitt died at Hamilton on Monday. Private funeral service will be held at the Ratz- Bechtel Funeral Home Thursday at two o'clock Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. The remains are resting at the funeral home.

    DORAS SCHMITT - Doras, 12 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Schmitt, who died at the home of her parents, 65 Hains? Avenue, Saturday noon, will be buried privately Tuesday afternoon. The funeral will be held from her late residence at 2: 30 o'clock and thence to Woodland Cemetery for interment. Rev. G. F. Barthel will be in charge.

    Doras had been ill one week. Blood-poisoning, resulting from a nail which pierced her foot caused her death.

    Besides her parents she is survived by two brothers, Donald and Murray Schmitt.
