    Bender, Allan Y., son of Daniel Bender and Magdalena Yantzi, was born in East Zorra Township, Ont., on July 26, 1899; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont. of a heart ailment on Oct. 2, 1972; aged 73 y. 2 m. 6 d. On June 4, 1918, he was married to Veronica Lichty, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Delmar), 3 daughters (Madeline - Mrs. Alvin Roth, Jean, Grace - Mrs. Oliver Brunk), 9 grandchildren, and one sister (Elizabeth - Mrs. Nicholas Kuepfer). He was preceded in death by one son (Vernon), one brother, 3 sisters, and one grandchild. He was ordained minister on Apr. 27, 1952, of the Wellesley Mapleview Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Oct. 5, in charge of Alvin Leis and Jacob Roes; interment in adjoining cemetery.

    Bender, Rev. Allen Y. - of 141 Queen St. West, Wellesley, passed away suddenly, on Monday, Oct. 2, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, born in East Zorra Township, 73 years ago, husband of Veronica Lichti; dear father of Delmar, Route 2, Wellesley, Mrs. Alvin (Madeline) Roth of London, Jean of Elkhardt, Ind., and Mrs. Oliver (Grace) Brunk of Tavistock; brother of Mrs. Nicholas (Elizabeth) Kuepfer of Brunner; also survived by nine grandchildren. He was an ordained minister of the Maple View Mennonite Church, April 27, 1952, former Sunday school superintendent; predeceased by one son, Vernon, one brother, three sisters and one grandchild. The family will receive friends at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley, this evening from 7 till 9, and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 till 9. At noon, Thursday, the body will be removed to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the service at 2: 30. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Rev. Alvin Leis and Rev. Jacob Roes will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be shown by contributions to the Western Ontario Mennonite Mission Board or the Gideons.
