Gowing, Mrs. Emerson (Elizabeth) - On Tuesday, April 21, 1987, at St. Raphael's Nursing Home, Kitchener, Elizabeth Fleet, widow of Emerson Gowing, in her 90th year, of Glen Allan. Beloved mother of Mrs. Ernest (Aileen) Roden of RR 2, Wallenstein. She was predeceased by son, Orlen; two sisters, Annie Gowing and Mabel Ritter; three brothers, Norman, Allan and Clayton Fleet. Also survived by six grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Glen Allan United church. Visitation at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 7 pm tonight. Funeral service in the funeral chapel on Friday, April 24, at 11 am. Interment in Glen Allan Cemetery, Rev. Norman Penrose will officiate.

Mrs. Peter Ritter - by Record Correspondent - ST. JACOBS - The funeral for Mrs. Peter Ritter, 61, of St. Jacobs, who died Sunday at K-W Hospital, will be held Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church at 4: 30 p.m. Rev. Harold Brill will officiate. The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira. Mrs. Ritter, the former Mabel Fleet, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fleet. She was born in Glen Allan and was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, whom she married at Heidelberg in 1922; four sons, George and Harold of St. Jacobs, Frederick of Orillia, and Carl of Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Frances) Reger of Waterloo, Mrs. George (Jean) Adamson and Mrs. Elgin (Grace) McCandless of Elmira; three brothers, Norman of Dundas, Clayton of Bronte and Allan of Palmerston; two sisters, Mrs. Emerson Gowing and Mrs. Wilbert Goodwin of Glen Allan, and 22 grandchildren. At Harold's request, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service for family and friends at St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs, on Saturday, May 25 at 11 am, with Rev. David Hammer officiating.
