    BENNETT, Ethel Ellen Marea - At the K-W Hospital, on Friday, Jan. 11, 1980, Ethel Ellen Marea Nicholls, of 355 Regina St. N., Apt. 109, Waterloo, aged 73 years.

    She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; a missionary for the Church in Washington, D.C., she also served in the air force in the Second World War.

    Mother of William Bignell of Kitchener, Thomas Bennett of Kingston, Duveen (Mrs. Romeo Carriere) of Windsor, Grace (Mrs. William Weinstein) of Waterloo. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, two sisters and one grandson.

    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. today, until noon Monday, when transfer will be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lorraine Ave., Kitchener, for funeral service at 2 p.m., with Bishop Rene Seaborne officiating. Interment Memory Gardens.

    Donations as expressions of sympathy, may be made to the Ontario Heart Foundation.

    BIGNELL, William Frederick 'Bill'- Passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Florida, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Judy. Cherished father of Jim (Carol), Bill Jr.(Nancy), Michael (Linda), Debi, Bob (Sheila), and Shelley. Step-father of Alan (Becca) and Doug. Grandfather (Papa) of Scott, Dana, Bill, Meghan, Jen, Chris, Corrie, Wes, Kristin, Stephanie, Matthew, Joshua, Kaitlin, and Connor. Great-grandfather of Teagan. Brother of Grace and Tom. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his first wife, Mary Margaret (1981); son, John (1961); father, Stanley (1969); mother Ethel (1980); and sister Duveen (2007). Bill served in the U.S Army and was a long term employee of H & O Centerless Grinding and Chicopee Manufacturing. He was a member of the Pioneer Sportsmen Club, the American Legion, Faith Missionary Church, and the New Hope Lodge No. 279, Masonic Temple. Bill's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service to celebrate Bill's life will take place on Friday, July 17, 2009 in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pioneer Sportsmen Club or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
