    Notes:

MRS. JOHN McNAB, JR. Her maiden name was Jane Veitch. She was a bright, cheerful, happy Christian, evidently living in the light, and finding all her world in the home where God had placed her, and in living for the good of her husband and their children. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother. She had great affection for her children, and it was out of this that the great sorrow of her life came. She had a sick son, whose health never improved, and, as the sick one is the centre of the home, attracting all the attention and sympathy, and calling for all the care, he became an absorbing object of interest and concern, and when, in the providence of God, he was called away, her sense of loss was so great that she was deeply oppressed by it, and seldom did the weight lift till she went in to the haven of rest When we visited her a whole-hearted welcome always awaited us, and a real kindness ministered to our necessities ; and when we sat down to read the Word and talk of it, she was an attentive and delighted listener.

At her funeral friends were present from far and near, testifying their loving respect to the precious memory of a sweet soul, a beneficent life and a most worthy character.

Death of Mrs. James Oliver - The death occurred in Ayr on Monday morning at 5 o'clock of Mrs. James O. Oliver, in her 25th year. She had been ailing for over a year, during which time she was given every care and attention, but all efforts to improve her condition ultimately met with failure. Deceased, whose maiden name was Jean B. Veitch, was born in Ayr, being the only child of Mrs. Veitch and the late Andrew Veitch. Of a bright and amiable disposition, she made many friends who will be much grieved to learn of her untimely demise. Deceased was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a former worker in several of the Young People's organizations of the village. She was married over three years ago to James O. Oliver, who, along with her mother, Mrs. Veitch, survives her. The sorrowing relatives will receive the sympathy of the entire community in their sad loss. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon to Ayr Cemetery and was largely attended. The services were in charge of Rev. J. W. Currie, pastor of Knox United Church, assisted by Rev. Mr. Waring, rector of Christ Church. The following acted as pallbearers, viz.: Messrs. Wallace Turnbull, Charles Ball, W. A. Prentice, Wesley Ennis, Erb Clark and Robt. Bain. The floral offerings were beautiful and numerous, giving mute testimony of the esteem in which deceased was held. Among those sending tributes were the Boy Scouts, I.O.O.F., W.A. Ramsay Co., A. A. A. A., Roseville Football Team, "Friends and Neighbors," and many others from friends and relatives.
