    MRS. CLAIR BEGGS

    Mrs. Clair Beggs, 48, of RR 1, Linwood died suddenly Saturday at the K-W Hospital. She was the former Cornelia Mewhinney, born July 17, 1911, near Macton, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mewhinney. Mrs. was a member of Linwood United Church. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Robert, Neil and Garry, at home, and three brothers, Carson Mewhinney of RR 1, Wallenstein, Melvin of Millbank and Irvine of Vineland. A daughter, two sisters and a brother predeceased her. The body was at the family home until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when removal was made to Linwood United Church for memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Rev. C. R. Forrest officiated, and burial was in the United Church Cemetery.

    Beloved husband of Ella Miller; son of Mrs. Emma Gies and the late Charles Gies; dear father of Murray of Elmira and Virginia of Don Mills; brother of Laval of Kitchener and Wilbert of London, Ont.; grandfather of Heather and Stacy; predeceased by one daughter Judy and one brother Alvin.

    A memorial service was held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, on Monday, Jan. 12, at 2 pm.

    Friends called at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Saturday morning at 10 am when a committal service was held in the chapel. Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Heidelberg.

    Funeral service for Alvin G. Gies, 31 Hugo Cres., who died at St. Mary's Hospital Tuesday, will be held at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Friday at 3 p.m.

    Rev. A.J. Baetz will officiate.

    Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Waterloo. Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation or the building fund of the church may be made as expressions of sympathy.

    Mr. Gies was born in Macton; a son of Mrs. Emma Gies of Kitchener and the late Charles W. Gies, who died in 1963.
    He is also survived by his wife, the former Anne Padkova; two sons, Douglas of Kitchener, Robert, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Stewart (Carol) Rank, Milverton; Sandra at home; three brothers, Harold, St. Jacobs; Wilbert, London, Ont., and Laval of Doon, and three grandchildren.

    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Friday when removal will be made to the church.

    BABY VIVIAN BEGGS

    The seven-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clare Beggs, Vivian Gwen Beggs, 13th line of Wellesley died on Thursday last, Oct. 31, following an illness of two weeks. She was born March 17, of this year

    In addition to her parents, there survive two brothers, Bobby and Neil. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, at 3 p. m. at the family residence. Burial was made in Linwood Union cemetery. Rev. W. O. Mather officiated.

    HEIDELBERG, July 25. - A week's illness terminated this morning in the death of five-year-old Judy Gertrude Gies, daughter of Mr. and Mars. Harold Gies, at her home in Heidelberg.

    Surviving, besides her parents, are her brother, Murray, at home, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gies of Kitchener.

    The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon from her residence in Heidelberg at 2:30 p.m. to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, for service. Burial will take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Heidelberg, with Rev. Henry Nuhn officiating. The remains are resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel, Elmira, until 11 a.m. tomorrow, when removal will be made to the home.
