    Mrs. Regina Magnus

    MARYHILL- Mrs. Regina Magnus, 94, died at her home at RR 1. Ariss, Friday.

    Born near Maryhill, Sept. 28, 1866, she was a daughter of the ate Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Weiler. Her husband, Jacob Magnus, predeceased her Dec. 31,-1939.

    She was a life-long member of St. Boniface RC Church, Maryhill, and a honorary member of the Christian Mothers Catholic Women's League.

    Surviving are two sons, Jacob of Perryvale, Alta., and Anthony of RR 1, Ariss; five daughters, Miss Anna Magnus of RR 1. Ariss, Mrs. Pauline Wright of Ariss, Mrs. Edward (Regina) Schultz and Mrs. Alphonse Elizabeth) Lehman of Kitchener and Mrs. Samuel (Cecilia) Airdrie of Bridgeport; one brother, Stephan of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Victoria Fagel of Guelph and Mrs. Magdelina Elchert of Kitchener, 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

    One son and two daughters predeceased her.

    The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, where prayers will be said Monday at 9:30 a.m.

    Requiem high mass will be e solemnized at St. Boniface Church, Maryhill, at 10:30. Bur ial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Vincent Pickett will officiate. The rosary will be recited at the funeral parlor Sunday at 8 p.m.

    ANDREW WEILER

    Andrew Weiler, 88, of RR 1, Ariss, died at his home Wednesday, October 22, after a short illness.

    A native of Maryhill, he had farmed in this district all his life.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Rumig, whom he married in 1905, three sons, Leo and Jerome at home, Simon of Kitchener, four daughters, Miss Henriette, Mrs. Frank (Alberta) Groetz, Mrs. Charles (Rita) Stoesser, all of Waterloo, and Mrs. Howard (Patricia) Conrad of Kitchener.

    Also surviving are 11 grand-children, one brother, Stephen of Detroit, and three sisters. Mrs. Regina Magnus of Ariss, Mrs. Victoria Fagel of Guelph and Mrs. Magdalena Elchert of Kitchener.

    The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor. The rosary was recited Friday at 8 p.m. and prayers were said at 9:15 a.m. Saturday before removal to St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Mary-hill, for requiem mass at 10 a.m. Rev Jerome Fisher officiated. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

    Andrew Magnus

    Andrew Lawrence Magnus, 67, of RR 1, Ariss, died Saturday at his home after a lengthy illness.

    Born hear Ariss Nov. 30, 1892, he was a son of Mrs. Regina Magnus and the late Jacob Magnus.

    He farmed in the area and was also a carpenter until retiring a year ago. He was a member of St. Boniface RC Church, Maryhill.

    Survivors include his wife, the former Wilhelmina Bruder; his mother, one son, Donald of RR 1, West Montrose; two brothers, Jacob and Alberta, Anthony of RR 1, Ariss; five sisters, Mrs. Pauline Wright of RR 2, Ariss, Mrs. Edward Schultz and Mrs. Alfred Lehman of Kitchener, Mrs. Samuel Airdrie of Bridgeport, Miss Annie of RR 1, Ariss, and two grandchildren. Two sisters predeceased him.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, where prayers were recited Monday before removal to the church for requiem high mass at 10 o'clock. Rev. Jerome Fischer officiated. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

    On Tuesday, November 28, at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus, as a result of a burning accident, age 74 years, Tony Magnus of Route 1, Ariss.

    A member of St. Boniface RC Church and a farmer of the area all his life. Son of the late Jacob Magnus and Regina Weiler.

    Surviving is one brother, Jacob of Crescent, B.C., four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Wright of Route 2, Ariss, Anna, Mrs. Elizabeth Lehman, and Cecilia (Mrs. Samuel Aidrie), all of Kitchener. Predeceased by three sisters and one brother.

    Visitation at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Parish rosary Thursday, at 8:30 pm. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home, on Friday, December 1, at 9 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Boniface RC Church, Maryhill, at 10 a.m., Rev. J. Lawless officiating. Interment to follow in St. Boniface RC cemetery.

    Donations to the building fund of St. Jerome's and St. Mary's schools would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

    Harold's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Harold will take place Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m.

    A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa's Roman Catholic Church (44 Leonard St., Kitchener) on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 11a.m. Interment, at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
