    Titus L. Kolb was born in Waterloo Twp., Ont., Nov. 7, 1874; passed away at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, Oct. 2, 1949; aged 74 y. 10 m. 25 d. Death resulted from an accident. He was the last surviving member of the Jacob Z. Kolb family and was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, Ont., most of his life. He served as chorister for the church and Sunday school from the time he was sixteen. He was deeply interested in the welfare of the church and gave unstintingly of his time. On Nov. 28, 1906, he was united in marriage to Priscilla Shantz at Haysville, Ont. Surviving besides his wife are one son (J. Harvey, Kitchener, Ont.), 5 daughters (Leda and Gertrude, at home; Myrtle - Mrs. Gordon Liechty, Berne, Ind.; Charlea - Mrs. Howard Snyder, of Kitchener; and Esther - Mrs. Charles V. Hess, Goshen, Ind.), and 8 grandchildren. Funeral and burial services were conducted Oct. 5 at the First Mennonite Church in Kitchener by C. F. Derstine, assisted by S. F. Coffman, John H. Hess, and Oscar Burkholder.

    Died peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, June 2, 2003 at Freeport Health Care Centre, in her 96th year.Dear sister of Charlea Snyder of Cambridge, Esther Hess of Goshen, IN, Harvey Kolb and his wife Grace of Aylmer and Elizabeth Gertrude Edgeworth of Kitchener. Survived by 16 nieces and nephews and their spouses and many great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Titus Lyman Kolb and his wife Priscilla Shantz, one sister Myrtle Liechty and brothers-in-law Howard Snyder, Gordon Liechty,Charles Hess and Leslie Edgeworth.Cremation has taken place. Leda's family will receive relatives and friends on (date) from (time).A memorial service (time and date not confirmed as yet)will follow in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception. Interment First Mennonite Cemetery, Kitchener.As expressions of sympathy donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Arthritis Society or Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

    SNYDER, Charlea Lorraine (nee Kolb) - Passed away peacefully, on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Fairview Mennonite Home at the age of 93 years. Born September 16, 1915, Charlea was the loving wife of the late Howard Snyder of Kitchener. Beloved mother of Pat Janowski (Bob) of Kitchener, Linda Snyder of Kincardine, Bob Snyder (Louise) of Kitchener, Bill Snyder (Kathy) of Conestogo, John Snyder (Kathy Roulston) of Toronto and Marybeth Snyder of Waterloo. Predeceased by sisters, Myrtle (Kolb) Liechty of Berne Indiana, Leda Kolb of Kitchener and Gertrude (Kolb) Edgeworth of Kitchener. Survived by sister, Esther (Kolb) Hess of Goshen Indiana and brother, Harvey Kolb (Grace) of Aylmer. Grandma will be missed by Jill Reiner (Eric), Nat Snyder (Theresa), Jenny Janowski, Kirsten Wever (Steve), Nick Snyder (Kirsten), Garth Snyder and Evan Snyder. Great-grandma to Ethan and Carter Reiner, Jane Wever and Charlie Snyder. Long time member of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener. Charlea's passion for music and her love of adventure will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.     Esther K. Hess, 95, of Goshen, died Tuesday afternoon, July 29, 2014, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. She was born February 10, 1919, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada to Titus L. and Priscilla (Shantz) Kolb. On March 1, 1943 she married Charles V. Hess in Goshen. He died December 26, 1999. She is survived by three children, Janice (Jerry) Warstler of Sturgis, Michigan, Sandra K. Hess, and Jon C. Hess, both of Goshen; two grandchildren, Tonia Andrews and Todd Warstler and three great-grandchildren.


    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, Leda Kolb, Myrtle Liechty, Charlea Snyder and Gertrude Edgeworth, and a brother, J. Harvey Kolb. A 1940 graduate of Goshen College, she was a longtime, active member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the Delphians and a charter member of the Goshen chapter of American Association of University Women. Mrs. Hess taught at Jefferson High School from 1942 to 1950. She was the first director of the Goshen YWCA, retiring in 1980 after 16 years. A Friday, September 26, 2014 11 a.m., memorial service will be conducted at Goshen City Church of the Brethren. Pastor Bev Weaver will officiate. A private graveside service will be held in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen City Church of the Brethren, Heifer International or Church World Service.

    Passed away at home in Aylmer on February 2nd in his 89th year. Only son of Titus L. Kolb and Priscilla Shantz. He is survived by his beloved wife Grace (Knechtel), much loved children John and his friend Liz of Kitchener, Jim and his wife Sharon of New Hamburg and Julia and her husband Kirk of Aylmer, his adored grandchildren Jeffrey and his fiancée Lindsay, Jennifer, Jared and his friend Erika, Jane, Jill Kolb, Ellie and Libby Cook and his great-grandson, Noah Kolb-Bromley. Also survived by sister Esther Hess of Goshen, Indiana. Predeceased by his parents, sisters Leda Kolb, Myrtle Liechty, Charlea Snyder, and Gertrude Edgeworth and brothers-in-law Howard Snyder, Leslie Edgeworth, Charles Hess, and Gordon Liechty. Cremation has taken place.
