    PETER SCHWARTZENTRUBER

    Peter Schwartzentruber, 97 of Ottawa, died September 4 in Ottawa.

    The deceased was born near Milverton and spent his carly years in this area, operating at one time the general store at Poole.

    Prior to retiring to Ottawa where he resided with his son Gordon, the late Mr. Schwartzentruber was employed in Elmira and Kitchener.
    He was married to the former Ellen Engel, also of the Poole area. She predeceased him.

    Funeral services were held Friday, September 6 from the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, with a graveside service at St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Poole.

    Rev. Ronald Reisdorf of Elmira officiated.

    The deceased is survived by his son, Gordon and three granddaughters.

    Peter S. Kuepfer of R.R. 1 Millbank died Thursday, Mar. 30 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener. He was born in Mornington Township, in 1890, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kuepfer and farmed on the fifth line of Wellesley Township, retiring in 1965.

    He was predeceased by his wife, the former Veronica Herrford in 1965. Surviving are three sons, Solomon of R.R. 2 Milverton, Daniel and Amos both of R.R. 1 Millbank, three daughters, Mrs. Joseph N. (Lydia) Jantzi of Millbank, Mrs. Gideon (Annie) Streicher of R.R. 1 Milverton and Mrs. Michael (Esther) Streicher of R.R. 1 Newton; four brothers, David and Samuel, both of Millbank, Solomon, R.R. 1 Milverton and John of R.R. 1 Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Christ (Nancy) Kuepfer of Millbank and Mrs. John (Leah) Zehr of R.R. 1 Newton; 50 grandchildren and 86 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, three sisters, two brothers, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    The body is at his home, fifth line of Wellesley Township, where the funeral service took place on Monday at 1 p.m. Burial followed in the seventh line Amish Mennonite cemetery in Wellesley township.

    She was born in Wellesley Township 79 years ago, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John S. Kuepfer.

    Beloved mother of Earl, Joseph and Noah, all of Route 1, Millbank and Mrs. Eric (Lena) Smith of Route 2 Atwood and Mrs. Allan (Emma) Horst of Route 4, Listowel; sister of Solomon Kuepfer of Route 1, Milverton.

    Also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

    Predeceased by her husband Christian K. Kipfer, November 12, 1944, and also by two sons, Samuel and Aaron and by eight brothers and six sisters.

    Friends may call at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Kipfer, where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 28, at 1 p.m. Bishop Joseph K. Jantzi officiating.

    Burial will follow in the 7th Line Amish Mennonite cemetery , Wellesley Township.

    Mrs. Soloman Schmidt, 85, of Millbank, died Friday, February 14th at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.

    She was the former Lena Kuepfer and was born in Mornington Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John G. Kuepfer.
    Surviving are: brothers, Eli, of Millbank; Allan and Benjamin, both of RR 1 Millbank; sisters, Mrs. Aaron (Clara) Ebersol, of Milverton; Mrs. Joseph (Nancy) Steckley, of RR 1 Milverton.

    She was predeceased by her husband 17 years ago and by five brothers.

    The body was at the family residence in Millbank where the funeral service was held Monday at 1 p.m.

    Biship Joseph K. Jantzi officiated.

    Burial followed in the Seventh Line Amish Mennonite cemetery in Wellesley Township.

    The funeral arrangements were made by Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley.

Grandfather of 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandson, Brian; one stillborn grand-daughter and one great-granddaughter, Angela. Loving father of Alvin and his wife Doris of Toronto, Paul of Waterloo, Miriam and her husband Dale Bauman of Elmira, Mark and his wife Linda of Milverton, Phil and his wife Bev of Waterloo and Rhoda and her husband Elroy Cober of Ottawa. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jason, Jeffrey, Kerri, Sara, Rachel, Hannah, Nicholas and James. Dear brother of Joseph and his wife Fannie, and Noah, all of RR 1, Milverton, and Sam of RR 1, Newton. Also remembered by a brother-in-law, Ivan Kuepfer of Millbank.     Friends and visitors were received at his late residence Wednesday at 2 p.m. Funeral services were conducted Friday at 1 p.m. by Bishop Clarence Kuepfer.

    Burial followed in the Amish Mennonite cemetery, 7th line, Mornington Township.

    Beloved husband of Clara Steckly whom he married February 28, 1935.     The last of her generation in both Kuepfer and Streicher families, she is survived by her 8 children, Henry (Helen), Ervin (Ella), Raymond (Velma), Eunice (Robert), Michael, Ruth, Robert (Beverly) and Deborah (Bernard), 12 grandchildren, Craig, Donovan, Anita, Susan, Trevor, Karen, Lelia, Garret, Stephanie, Ellen, Shawn and Michael. She is survived by 11 great grandchildren Dawson, Cassidy, Teagan, Rohen, Clara-Joy, Evelyn, Annabelle, Gwendolyn, Forest, Eden and Ivy Freda Esther. Her latest great granddaughter was born 6 days before her passing and carries her name.

    Esther was predeceased by husband Michael in 1996 and granddaughter Jolene in 2001, also by parents Veronica (Herrfort) and Peter S. Kuepfer, siblings Lydia (Joseph) Jantzi, Simeon (Katie) Kuepfer, Solomon (Clara) Kuepfer, Annie (Gideon) Streicher, John (infancy), Daniel (Clara) Kuepfer, and Amos (Lena) Kuepfer.

    Her family will treasure memories of her steadfast faith in God, the abundant flower and vegetable gardens she kept in her earlier days, the pure joy in seeing her grandchildren, her skill and love of quilting, and the keen talent she displayed playing Dominos and Dutch Blitz.

    They resided at RR 1, Linwood. Aaron was born 67 years ago in Wellesley township and was the son of the late Sam. S. Kuepfer and the former Lydia Schwartz. Muriel was born 62 years ago in Mornington township and was the daughter of the late Daniel R. Albrecht. Both were members of the old Order Amish Faith. Aaron and Muriel were married November 25, 1954.


    Loving parents of Kathleen and her husband John J. Kuepfer of RR 1, Newton, Paul and his wife Mary Kuepfer, Laureen and her husband Peter K. Kuepfer, all of RR 1 Millbank, Bertha and her husband Peter S. Kuepfer of RR 1 Newton, Elsie and her husband David Ebersol of RR 2, Milverton, Irma and her husband Lloyd Zehr of RR 1, Linwood, Perry and his friend Judy Albrecht, at home, Veronica and her husband Mosie Kuepfer of RR 1, Linwood. Sadly missed by their 26 grandchildren. Also missed by Muriel's mother, Veronica (nee Wagler) Albrecht of RR 1, Newton. Also remembered by Aaron's family, Sarah and her husband David N. Jantzi of RR 1, Milverton, Katie and her husband Menno Wagler of RR 1, Newton, Elizabeth and her husband Joe K. Zehr of RR 4, Alymer and Muriel's family Sarah and her husband Sam Kuepfer, Esther and her husband Ken Kuepfer of RR 1, Almeda and her husband Harold Kuepfer , all of RR 1, Newton, Kathleen and her husband John R. Kuepfer of RR 1, Atwood. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kipfer of Milverton.
    They were predeceased by a daughter, Lavina in infancy; a grandson, Murray Kuepfer; Aaron's brother, David S. Kuepfer and Muriel's sister in infancy.


    Family and friends may call at the family residence, Lot 18, Concession 9 of Mornington township until Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996 when the service will take place at the house at 12:30 p.m., with Bishop Joe A. Kuepfer officiating. Burial to follow in the 7th Line Amish Cemetery, Wellesley township.

    David S. Kuepfer, Jr., 44 of Lot 14, Con. 8 Mornington Twp., died Sunday, December 29, 1974 at the Listowel Memorial Hospital.
    Born in Wellesley Twp., November 21, 1930, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kuepfer, Millbank.

    Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife the former Dorothy Wagler; a son, Herbert and a daughter, Ellen, born at home; a brother, Aaron Kuepfer; sisters, Mrs. David N. (Sarah) Jantzi, Mrs. Menno (Katie) Wagler, Mrs. Joe K. (Elizabeth) Zehr.

    The funeral service was held January 1, 1975 at the home of Aaron Kuepfer, R.R. 1 Linwood with Bishop Clarence Kuepfer officiating. Burial was in the 7th line Amish-Mennonite cemetery, Wellesley Twp. Arrangements were by the Heubner Funeral Home, Milverton.

Dear father of Emmanuel and his wife Mary of Newton, Verna and her husband LeRoy Kuepfer of RR 1, Milverton, Eileen and her husband Solomon Jantzi of RR 1, Millbank, Viola and her husband Menno Streicher of Millbank, Barbara and her husband Harvey J. Jantzi of RR 1, Milverton. Sadly missed by three sisters, Tena (Mrs. Joel Kuepfer) of Millbank, Katie (Mrs. Harvey N. Jantzi) of RR 1, Milverton and Sarah (Mrs. Joe Albrecht) of RR 1, Newton.
