    Elmira --Mrs. Louis Kieffer, 85 of Elmira, formerly of Maryhill, who died Friday at Elmira Private Hospital, was born near Bloomingdale. The former Abbie Bitschy, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Bitschy. She was a member of St. Theresa's RC Church, Elmira, and the Catholic Women's League. Her husband predeceased her in 1951. Surviving are two sons, Vincent of Guelph and William of Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Drexler of Elmira; one brother, Valentine Beechey of Kitchener; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister predeceased her. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira until Monday morning when prayers will be said at 9: 15 a.m. Removal will be made to St. Boniface RC Church, Maryhill for requiem high mass at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. V. J. Pickett will officiate. The rosary will be recited at the funeral parlor Sunday at 8 p.m.

    DREXLER, Mary Catherine Passed away at Chartwell LTC Elmira, on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Mary celebrated her 100th birthday on April 17th with a wonderful party. Mary was the loving mother of Joyce (Bill) Shantz, Deanna (Don) Nimmo, Betty (Jack) Strauss, Margaret Bisch (Paul Floto), Helen (Gord) Beal, Charles (Janice) Drexler, and Robert (Bev) Drexler. She is survived by 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband Charles Drexler (1997), parents Louis and Abbie (Bitschy) Kieffer, brothers Vincent Kieffer and William Kieffer, grandson Robin Bisch, and her Drexler in-laws. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Dr., Elmira. Reception to follow in the church hall. The family wishes to thank the Chartwell staff for the care Mary received during the time she resided there.
