    Notes:

    Kraft.--Mary Kraft, daughter of the late Elias and Hannah (Bingeman) Snider, was born in Waterloo, Ont., April 7, 1838; died Oct. 21, 1913; aged 75 y. 6 m. 14 d. At the age of 20 years she united in matrimony with Aaron Kraft, who died 16 years ago. To this union were born 6 children, 4 of whom died in infancy. Hannah and Mrs. Lehman Shirk with 2 grandchildren remain to mourn their loss, also 8 brothers and 1 sister. Ever since the death of her husband she had her home with her daughters in Waterloo, where she received the best of care. At the age of 16 years she united with the Mennonite Church, in which faith we believe she was true to the end. She suffered greatly the last few months from that dreadful disease, cancer. She bore her affliction in Christian patience, looking forward to the land where pain is unknown. Funeral services Oct. 24, conducted at the home by Bro. Noah Stauffer and at the Waterloo Church by Bro. Noah Hunsberger from John 16: 33, and Bro. Burns of the Evangelical Church from Heb. 4: 9. Buried at the Berlin Church.

    LEARN. Mrs. Laura S. - On Thursday, Jan. 28, 1982,. at her, residence, Heritage House, St. Jacobs, Laura Learn, aged 95 years.

    She was born in Bridgeport and was first president of the Waterloo branch of the VON. Mrs. Learn. was a member of First United Church, Waterloo and the United Church Women.

    She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lehman Shirk, wife of the late Arthur Learn: mother of Robert and Mary (Mrs. James Dettweiler), both of Waterloo. Also survived by three grandchildren. Penny, Patricia and Peter and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased, by one sister.

    A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Learn in the chapel of First United Church, Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. R.H. McColl officiating. Interment Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery.

    MARY J. DETWEILER 1917 - 2009 Passed away on Tuesday, January 6 in Toronto. Mary was a member of the First United Church in Waterloo. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Learn and the beloved wife of the late James R. Detweiler who preceded her in 1997. She was also predeceased by her brother, J. Robert Learn. She is lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends are invited to share their memories of Mary with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, January 9, from 2 to 2: 45 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Doug's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-2: 45 p.m., on Saturday, September 24, 2005, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 749-8467, followed by a memorial service in the chapel of the funeral home, at 3 p.m. Cremation and inurnment has taken place in Michigan.
