    COOK, William Wilson -- Of 62 Dorset St., Waterloo, and formerly of Wellesley, passed away this morning at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ezra Kneisel. He was born in North Easthope Township 87 years ago, a son of the late Levi Cook and the late Emma Wismer. He had farmed in North Easthope Township, retiring to Wellesley 23 years ago. Beloved father of Stanley of Route 1, New Hamburg, Mervin and Allister, both of Route 1, Stratford. Russell of Route 4, Stratford, Kenneth of Harmony, Ivy (Mrs. Louis Mohr) of New Hamburg, Dorothy (Mrs. Vernon Beam) of Route 1, Fort Erie, Mae (Mrs. Roy Morenz) of Grand Bend, Eileen (Mrs. Walter Roth) of Route 1, Gadshill and Annie (Mrs. Ezra Kneisel) of Waterloo; dear brother of Levi of Stratford, Roy of Tavistock. Also survived by 35 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, the former Ethel Walpole. Nov. 12, 1975, and also two brothers and two sisters. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley, after 7 p.m. this evening. At noon Sunday the remains will be removed to the North Easthope Reformed Mennonite Church for the funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. Robert Beehler and Rev. Aaron Yost officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    VICTOR JAMES COOK

    Victor J. Cook, a former area resident, died Thursday in hospital at Kitchener.

    Born March 15, 1898, In North Easthope Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Cook. He moved to Kitchener in 1950, and was employed as a securlty guard at Marsland Engineering Ltd., Waterloo, for four years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

    He married Clara Mae Gray on May 23, 1942. She survives with two sons, Earl Cook of Galt and Michael at home; two stepsons, Howard Gray In Paris and Clarence of Kitchener; four brothers, Edward and Levi, both of Stratford, William of Wellesley and Roy of Tavistock; a sister, Mrs. Emma Schlegel of Waterloo; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    The service was conducted Saturday afternoon at the Gruhn Funeral Home, Kitchener with Rev. J.W. Opperman officiating. Burial was In St. James cemetery, North Easthope.

    Victor James Cook

    Victor James Cook, 70, of 913 Queens Blvd. died today at St. Mary's Hospital.

    Born March 15, 1898, in North Easthope Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Cook. He moved to Kitchener in 1950, and was employed as a security guard at Marsland Engineering Ltd., Waterloo, for four years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

    MOHR, Ivy Jane Passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013, at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. She was born 98 years ago in North Easthope Township and was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Walpole) Cook. Beloved wife of the late Louis Mohr who predeceased her July 4, 2001. Loving mother of Sandra Mohr, Jane and Bruce Leis all of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Derek and Danielle Leis of Woodstock and Carrie and Steve Leskew of Barrie and great-grandchildren Ava, Adalyn, John and Meia. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Russell and Rita Cook of Stratford; Annie Kneisel of Kitchener; Kenneth Cook of St. Marys; and Helen Cook of Stratford. Ivy was predeceased by her brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Stanley and Alice Cook, Mervin and Aletha Cook, Dorothy and Vernon Beam, Mae and Roy Morenz, Eileen and Walter Roth, Allister Cook, Ezra Kneisel, Colleen Cook, Ezra and Aggie Mohr, Gordon and Annie Mohr, Norman Mohr, Herbert and Mary Mohr, Elizabeth Mohr, Luella and Jack Wilson. Ivy was a member of New Hamburg Fellowship Bible Church and also the Wellesley Women's Institute. She taught school in the area for many years and did income tax for local families for over 50 years. She loved spending her winters at her home in Sunnybreeze, Florida. Family and friends will be received at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Irwin and Pastor Shawn Symon officiating. Interment at a later date in Rush's Cemetery, Wellesley Township. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Aldaview Services, Nithview Community or New Hamburg Fellowship Bible Church.     Kathryn Cook, nine-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley H. Cook of RR 1, Plattsville, died at her home last Friday.

    Surviving, besides her parents, are two brothers, Ross of Kitchener and Owen at home, two sisters, Jean and Hazel, both at home.

    Funeral services were conducted at the Hostetler Mennonite Church, Wilmot Township, last Sunday, Rev. Aaron Yost officiating.

    Burial took place in the church cemetery.

    The Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg, was in charge of arrangements.

    Sandra passed peacefully surrounded by family and caregivers on Wednesday at her residence, Nithview Community, New Hamburg.

    Survived by her sister Jane Leis (Bruce) of New Hamburg. Special aunt of Derek Leis (Danielle) of Woodstock, and Carrie Leskew (Steve) of Minesing, Ontario. "Huggy Bear" to John, Meia, Ava and Adalyn.

    Predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Ivy and Louis Mohr. Also remembered by a number of aunts, an uncle and many cousins.

    Sandra faced her challenges in life head on and did not let Downs Syndrome hold her back. Bowling, swimming, t-ball, Special Olympics, Friendship Club and even horseback riding kept Sandra busy. Sandra worked in the kitchen at Nithview Community, New Hamburg for many years and then volunteered at the New Hamburg Thrift Store for eight years, keeping the other volunteers entertained with her stories and antics. She made many lifelong friends and if you met her, you were likely her "favourite person" or may have been adopted as her "cousin".

    Sandra was supported for many years by the wonderful staff of Aldaview Services, New Hamburg and found new independence with a move to Riehl Group Home in 2011 and then to Suite 22, Nithview Community where she spent her last two years, supported by her amazing caregivers and her loving Aldaview family of Steve, Rodney and Dianne. Sandra received excellent loving care from the Paramed staff who became like family. Sandra attended church at Nithview and formerly attended at New Hamburg Fellowship Bible Church.

    Family and friends were received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday November 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A family interment took place on Saturday November 5, 2016 prior to the funeral service at Rushes Cemetery, Wellesley Township. The celebration of Sandra's life was held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sheri Martin Carmen officiating.

    Passed away peacefully at Cobble Creek Residence on Monday, November 21, 2022 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Larry Kron (2013). Loving mother of David (Wanda), Susan (Greg Schierholtz), Peter (Karen) and Larry (Laurie). Proud grandmother of Carl (Emma), Jason (Sarah), Ryan (Robin), Curtis (Val), Brian (Jeannette), Brent (Kristin) and Brittany (Jeremy). Great-grandmother of Lily, Mia, Madelyn, Benjamin, Louisa, Reid, Paige, Lucas, Zachary and Hailey. Dear sister of Carol (Peter) Marcynuk, Glen Wahl, and Bruce (Nina) Wahl. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Dalphine Wahl and sister-in-law Madeleine Wahl. Joan will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Joan was a longtime member of Bethany Missionary Church. Joan's family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 and from 12-12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
