HAMILTON - A native of Philipsburg, John F. Schmidt, 419 Bay St., Hamilton, died at his home yesterday. He was 73. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hamilton, he was also a member and past master of No. 2 Lodge AF and AN, Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Roselawn and Strathcona Bowling Club and the anniversary club of St. Paul's Church. His wife, the former Mary Poure, predeceased him in 1939. Surviving are three sons, Harry and Roy of Hamilton, and George of Coniston, Ontario; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoerle, Philipsburg; and five grandchildren. The body will be at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home, Kitchener, after Wednesday at 7 p.m. and the funeral will be held here Thursday at 3: 30 with Rev. F.C. Mueller of St. Paul's Church, Hamilton officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Truscott Funeral Home, Barton St., Hamilton on Wednesday at 3: 30 p.m.
