    The family of John Edward Last is sad to announce his sudden passing, on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, with his wife and daughter at his side. John was anticipating his anniversary celebration of 66 years of marriage, on November 4, 2016. John was the beloved husband of Shirley (nee Dyer) and loving father of Timothy (Maureen) of Tallahassee, Florida and Cynthia Gigg of Cambridge, Ontario and the proud grandfather of David Last, Karen Last, and Stephanie Gigg. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Bernice Last and Marion Maynard (John), brother-in-law Robert W. Dyer (Jane), many wonderful nieces and nephews and his special loyal cat Benjamin Kingsley. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward "Toots" Last and Mabel Last, sister Doris Last and brother, Robert Last, father-in-law, Norman Dyer, mother-in-law, Hulda Dyer, brother-in-law, Norman Dyer (Ella), Don Dyer Sr. (Nellie), and sister-in-law, Betty Peace (Leonard). John was a metal pattern maker and a successful real estate salesman. He excelled in sports, especially hockey, softball, and bowling. He was a member of Galt Legion Branch 121 and a member of the Navy Veteran's Club. For many years, he was a member of the Seminole Fishing Club. Friends and relatives will be received at T. Little Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (223 Main St. Cambridge, ON., on Friday, October 7, 2016, from 1: 00 p.m. to 4: 00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at T. Little Funeral Home on Saturday, October 8th at 2: 00 p.m.
