    BENDER, Nelson Suddenly, at Wellesley, on January 21, 1982, Nelson Christian Bender, of RR1, Tavistock, age 53 years. Beloved husband of Geoline Brenneman; dear brother of Delton of RR 1 Tavistock, Ivan of Tavistock, and Armand of RR 2, Tavistock. A member of East Zorra Mennonite Church. Predeceased by his parents, Noah Bender and Magdalena Steinman and one brother. Friends may call at the Robert Krug Funeral Home, Tavistock after 2 p.m. Saturday and until noon on Sunday, when transfer will be made to East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th Line, for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Homer Yutzy will officiate. Those desiring are asked to consider Mennonite Central Committee or Canadian Bible Society as expressions of sympathy.

    Heart attack killed driver, autopsy reveals

    An autopsy has revealed that Nelson Bender, 53, of RR1, Tavistock, died of a heart attack while sitting at the steering wheel of his one-ton truck near Wellesley last Thursday. Firemen, called to a truck burning in a ditch just south of the village, said the smoke was so thick they didn't realize there was a person in the cab. Fire Chief Harold Leis said something overheated in the truck because the dashboard area was "burned right out". Bender, who had worked for Tavistock coal merchant Robert Rudy for about 12 years, had just delivered a load of coal to a customer near Wellesley.

    Heart attack blamed for death

    WELLESLEY - An autopsy has shown an RR 1 Tavistock man died of hypersensitive cardio-vascular disease in his truck near hear Thursday.
    Nelson Bender, 53, was found dead in a burning truck at about 12: 45 p.m. just south of Wellesley. Waterloo Regional Police are investigating cause of the blaze. However, police had earlier said the engine was running after the accident had occurred.
