Death of Thomas Robson - The death took place at Bright on Friday, Dec. 2nd, of Mr. Thomas Robson, in his 83rd year. Deceased was born on the Robson homestead adjoining Ayr, but spent much the greater part of his life on a farm near Bright. A noticeable co-incidence was the death on the same day of his sister-in-law, Mrs. (Rev.) Alex. R. Robson. Mr. Robson was a valued member of the Presbyterian Church at Chesterfield and was a worker in church circles. In politics he was a staunch Liberal, and was highly esteemed in the community as a man of sterling integrity. One son, Mr. Mack Robson, Blenheim, and four daughters survive; also a brother, Mr. Michael Robson, Vancouver, and a sister, Mrs. And. McRae, Glenmorris. The funeral; took place on Monday, when interment was made in the Chesterfield Cemetery.

Death of Walter Robson

Ayr Loses Prominent Citizen

The death occurred very suddenly on Thursday evening of Walter Robson, one of Ayr's most prominent citizens, in his 75th year. He had been bothered with asthma for many years and it was during an acute attack of this trouble that he passed away. The news of his death came as a distinct shock to the whole community and once more emphasized the old proverb, "In the midst of life we are in death." He was born just north of the village on the farm now occupied by Mrs. J. L. Robson and when a young man took u farming in the Township of Blenheim. He later moved to Washington where he resided for 10 or 15 years, coming to Ayr about 6 years ago. For the past 30 years he had been engaged in the cattle business and was successful to such an extent that he became known throughout Western Ontario as one of the Province's foremost dealers. At one time he was a heavy exporter but latterly continued his offerings to the Toronto and Buffalo markets. He was one of the first cattlemen in the Province to graze heavy export stock and subsequently each summer it had been his custom to engage from 400 to 600 acres of land on which he pastured from 200 to 600 head of cattle. In religion he was a Presbyterian, being a member of Knox United Church, and in politics a life-long Liberal. Besides his wife, whose maiden name was Helen Wakefield, he is survived by three daughters and one son, as follows: Mrs. A.Y. Hall, Toronto; Mrs. Bourchier, Windsor; Mrs. McNally, Niagara Falls and Wakefield of Ayr. The funeral took place on Sunday to the Ayr cemetery and was one of the largest ever seen here, over 65 autos being in the cortege which followed the resting place. The services were in charge of Rev. J. J. Brown and the following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: ? son, Mack. Robson, J. J. Thomson, F.E. Robinson and Murdo McRae.

Demise of Mrs. And. McRae

Her Life Devoted to Moral and Religious Influence In the Home

the people who were prominent in the social, political and religious activities of this community half a century ago are rapidly passing away, and in a few short years the scene of their life's work will know them no more - possibly not even in memory. Nevertheless, the individual whose life was characterized by good deeds and an exemplary life? will leave an influence the value of which in leavening the moral and religious atmosphere of the community may be incalculable.

Such a person was the late Mrs. And. McRae, who passed away last Sabbath, April 16th, in the home of her son at Glenmorris in her 75th year. Her maiden name was Isabella Robson, and her birthplace Ayr. Fifty years ago she married the late Andrew McRae and lived in South Dumfries up to about a year ago, her husband dying 25 yrs. ago today, April 20. The family consists of Murdo McRae, South Dumfries, Rev. J. McRae in China, Alex McRae on the homestead, S. D., Rev. And. McRae, Glenmorris, Mrs. Sheldon Stockton, S. D., and Annie of Glenmorris. One brother, Michael Robson, resides at Vancouver, B.C.

The deceased led a very quiet, unostentatious life, but was active in good works. It is not given to many mothers to have two sons in the ministry, a circumstance which in itself is an evidence of the deep spiritual training that dominated the home life. And in the years to come there are those who will rise up and ? her blessed.

The funeral took place Tuesday, when interment was made in the Ayr Cemetery, with Rev. J. J. Brown in charge of the service, and the pallbearers being Messrs. Murdo Lillco, And. Hall (Blenheim), Douglas Lillico, Morton Robson, Murdo Robson and Walter Pobson (Galt).

Death of Michel Robson - In the death of Michael Robson at New Westminster, B.C., on the 9th of October, as mentioned in last week's issue of The News, there passed away a gentleman well known in Ayr, as a most estimable citizen and active business man. Born on the Robson homestead, just west of the C.P.R. station and receiving his early education at the Ayr public school, he was considered and looked upon as an Ayr boy, and as such, always had - up to the time of his death - a warm spot for the village. Although engaged in business in other parts of Ontario, he returned early to Ayr and was among the first to operate the elevator at the station opening up and doing a large business with the farmers in this vicinity. It was here where he laid the foundation of the hardware business, which he later moved down town to its present quarters, where it is now conducted by Mr. N. H. Bennett. On relinquishing the business here, Mr. Robson went west, eventually settling in Regina, where he carried on successfully a lumber business with general building supplies. In politics Mr. Robson was a staunch Liberal, taking a prominent part in every election. It is well known he had the refusal of many offices in the gift of the government, and was finally appointed Postmaster in succession to the late John Wyllie. Though strongly Liberal, with elections once over, all opposition on the part of Mr. Robson ceased and, on his departure form Ayr, he numbered among his best friends many Conservatives of the village, some of whom found in him a warm personal friend. In municipal matters he was always prominent and, as reeve of Ayr, always had the best interests of the place at heart, particularly at the County Council where he showed his knowledge of municipal business to advantage. In religion Mr. Robson was Presbyterian and, while here, took a deep interest in ? Church. Moving? to Vancouver ? but followed in the footsteps of his sons, who now conduct a large successful lumber business in that city. The funeral, which took place on October 13th, was largely attended, interment taking place in the beautiful Ocean View Cemetery.

Thomas Robson Passes - The death occurred on Tuesday afternoon of Thomas (Packy) Robson, Jedburg, in his 57th year, after a brief illness of meningitis. Deceased was taken ill only a few days prior to his demise and his passing came as a shock to the people of this community, in which he had spent practically all his life. He was born on the farm just west of Ayr, now owned by Mr. James Welsh, and in his younger days was one of the finest athletes ever produced by this village. He played center-forward on the hockey team which was in the finals for the O. H. A. senior championship some 32 years ago, and also occupied the position of half-back on the Ayr football team which won the intermediate championship some 35 years ago. For several years he also played hockey for Waterloo and Petrolia. He was a moulder by trade and worked in the Watson foundry for many years. He was known and esteemed by a large circle of friends, who will much regret to learn of his sudden death. Besides his widow, whose maiden name was Lizzie MacMonagle, he is survived by one son, Bobbie. Two sisters and one brother alto survive, viz.: Mrs. Ronald and Miss Margaret, Ayr; and William, Hamilton. The funeral takes place this (Thursday) afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery.

Funeral Of Miss M. Robson

The funeral of the late Miss Margaret Robson, Bruce Street, whose death occurred on Sunday at 9.30 pm in her 63rd year, took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon. The services were in charge of Rev. Dr. Currie of London, in the absence of Rev. J. W. Currie on his vacation. The pallbearers were as follows: Andrew E. Laurie, James Welsh, Murdock Robson, Samuel Schrane, Clifford Bannister of Ayr and Edward Laughlin of Paris. Miss Robson had been in poor health for some considerable time, but the excessive heat was the immediate cause off her death. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Robson, she was born west of Ayr on the farm now occupied by James Welsh. She had lived in Ayr for the past 45 years and was an adherent of the United Church. The late Miss Robson was the last surviving member of her family.

Found Dead in Her Bed by Grandson on Wednesday Night

It was with something of a shock that residents of the village learned on Wednesday evening, August 3rd, that Mrs. Elizabeth Carruthers, Northumberland street, had been found dead in her bed.

Mrs. Carruthers, who was in her 86th year had not been noticed around her home by the neighbors, and about 6.00 p.m. her grandson, Joseph Wismer, Jr., and a neighbor, J. M. Hunt, forced their way into the house through a window. It was then learned that Mrs. Carruthers had passed away,

Born at Greenfield, a daughter of William Sherman and Elizabeth Robson. Mrs. Carruthers had lived in Ayr and vicinity during the whole period of her long lifetime. She attended Knox United Church and was highly esteemed by many friends and nelghbors, She had been ill with heart trouble for a number of years and was the last member of one of the early families in this community.

She is survived by the following family: Mrs. Joseph Wismer (Elizabeth), Ayr; Mrs. James Elliott (Mary), Toronto; Mrs. Joseph Faus, Jr. (Nettie,. South Dumfries; Mrs. J. R. Wood (Jean), Toronto, and John, Ayr. Her husband. Robert Carruthers, predeceased her 23 years ago.

The funeral, which was private, took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Thursday afternoon. During the absence of Rev. J. W. Currie, the services were in charge of Mr. Jackson of Wolverton. A number of friends and relatives were present from outside points, and the floral tributes were beautiful.

Death Of Wm. T. Robson

Said to be Oldest Member of Orange Lodge in Ontario

It was with deep regret that Ayr residents learned on Friday of the death in Galt Hospital of William T. Robson, in his 86thyear. Mr. Robson had been failing health for some time and was removed to the hospital several weeks ago. He was probably the oldest member of the Orange Lodge in Ontario, having joined the St. George Lodge 62 years ago. He took pride in attending the annual "walk" on July 12th, and in the long period of 62 years failed only once to be present at this outstanding Orange event of the year. Two years ago he attended the huge parade at Toronto, while last year he led the parade at the Preston celebration. Mr. Robson was a lifelong resident of this community. He was a familiar and friendly figure on the streets of our village and had a kindly word of greeting for everyone. His memory remained excellent and he was a source of Information about old-time events in and around Ayr which is now forever closed. Mr. Robson was born at Greenfield, a son of the late Thomas Robson of Morpeth, England, and Janet Knox, of Maybole, Scotland. His father died when he was a boy and he then moved to Ayr with his mother. He received his education in Ayr at the time the school house stood on the site where the rink is now located. As a young man he excelled in athletics. Following his early years in Ayr he moved to near London to live with a relative and while there was married to Mary Aim Fonger. He brought his bride back to the farm at Greenfield where he was born, and they remained there 50 years. The farm is now occupied by Thos. Robson, a relative of the deceased. Mr. Robson's wife died 12 years ago. Two years later he came to Ayr to live with his daughter, Mrs. Julius Eichler. Since coming into Ayr he had kept active and was interested in gardening. He was an adherent of Knox United Church. Three sons and five daughters survive him, viz.: Elmo P. Robson, Toronto; William Robson, Toronto; Thomas Robson, Victoria, B. C.; Mrs. M. Hedley, Toronto; Mrs. J. Element, London; Mrs. Fred Eichler and Mrs. Charles Eichler, New Hamburg, and Mrs. J. Eichler, Ayr. - The Funeral - There was a large attendance at the funeral, which took place on Sunday afternoon from the home of his son-in-law, Julius Eichler, St. Andrew's Avenue, to Ayr Cemetery. The services were .conducted by Rev. J. W. Currie, and the pallbearers were: George C. Smye, George A. Guthrie, Wm. R. Bain, John Holman, Morton Robson and Joseph Faus. During the service at the residence the choir of Knox United Church sang the selection, "Abide with Me." The floral tributes were beautiful. Persons were present from Kitchener, Detroit, New Hamburg, Galt, Toronto, and other outside points.

Mrs. John W. Maus - Death Takes Esteemed Ayr Lady on Saturday - There passed away at her home in Ayr on Saturday, April 15th, at 3 o'clock p.m., Agnes Hall, widow of the late John W. Maus who predeceased her seven years ago. Mrs. Maus was a faithful member of Knox United church and always took a deep interest in all that concerned the Church and community round about her. She was a woman of strong character and, through all the varied experiences of her life, her influence for good was felt by all who came in contact with her. She was a very devoted wife and mother, and a true friend and neighbor. Her family will have the sincere sympathy of the whole community in their sad bereavement. She is survived by one son, Jairus W., of South Dumfries, and three daughters, Janet, Laurie and Estelle, at home; also by one sister, Dr. Janet Hall, of Woodstock, and four brothers. John of Plattsville, Thomas of Harrisburg, Penn.. Dr. Alex. R. of St. Paul, Minn., and Oliver of Noranda, Quebec, a sister, Isabella, and a brother, Andrew, having predeceased her a few years. Dr. Janet Hall Passes

Widely known woman medical practitioner of Woodstock for nearly half a century, Dr. Janet Hall passed away early Sunday morning at her residence in Woodstock. She had not been in the best of health for the past year but her passing occurred unexpectedly.

Born in Blenheim township in 1872, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hall, pioneer residents of that township, she was one of a family of eight, of whom only one brother, Oliver, of Toronto still survives.

She received her early education in the township and later Woodstock and St. Catharines Collegiates, graduating in medicine from the University of Toronto. Following post graduate work in Europe, she took up practice in Woodstock where she was widely recognized for her ability both by the residents of Oxford and the Ontario medical profession. She retired from practice four years ago and was replaced by her nephew, Dr. Gordon Hall.

The late Dr. Hall is related to several of the pioneer families in Blenheim and South Dumfries.

The funeral was held from Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock, on Tuesday, with interment in the Ayr Cemetery.

Dr. Alexander R. Hall - The death occurred suddenly at his home in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Thursday, Nov. 27th, of Alexander Ritchie Hall, M.D.C.M., L.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., aged 73 years. Native of Washington Dies In Toronto on Monday

Oliver Hall, one of the most widely known and respected figures in Canadian mining, died at his home in Toronto on Monday. Feb. 15th. at the age of 74. At the time of his death Dr. Hall was consulting engineer and a director of Noranda Mines. He was also associated with a number of other well-known mines. Dr. Hall was born near Washing-ton, Ont., a son of the late Thomas Hall and Agnes Robson. He was a former member of Knox United Church. In 1904 he graduated in mining from McGill University, Montreal. He was active in the mining industry for close to half a century and in recognition of his outstanding services the degree of Doctor of Science was conferred upon him by McGill University in 1948. He is survived by his wife, the former Annie Richmond, also formerly of the Washington district, and two sons, Dr. Gordon Hall, Woodstock, and John Hall of Murdochville, Que. A third son, Squadron Leader James D. Hall, was killed in France in 1943 while serving with the R.C.A.F. J. W. Maus is a nephew and Mrs. N. H. Bennett and Misses A. L. and Janet Maus are nieces. Funeral service will be held at Knox United Church on Thursday at 2.30 p.m., with interment in the Ayr Cemetery.

Walter Hall - The death occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Kaufman, Washington, on Thursday of Walter Hall, a well-known resident of that district. Deceased had been ill for some time and death was not unexpected. Mr. Hall was a life-long resident of the Washington district formerly the owner of "Maple Bank Farm" and son of the late Stephen Hall. Death of John A. H. - Well-Known Resident of Blenheim Passes Away - Another native son of Blenheim township was called to his reward on Sunday morning at 5.30 o'clock in the person of John A. Hall, of the Eleventh Concession, in his 64th year. Deceased sustained a stroke on December 9th, from the effects of which he never recovered, and death came as a relief to his suffering. He was born and had resided all life in Blenheim, where he was regarded as one of the most progressive farmers in the district. Of a quiet and unassuming nature, he had many fine qualities of head and heart, and was highly esteemed as a good neighbor and friend. In religion he was a Presbyterian, being a member of Knox United Church. Besides his sorrowing widow, whose maiden name was Nellie Burnett, he is survived by one daughter, Nurse Jean Hall, of New York, and one son, Andrew Corbett Hall, at home. The following brothers and sisters also survive : - Andrew, 7th Con. Blenheim ; Thomas, Ayr ; Miss Mary, Ayr ; Mrs. Douglas Brown, Blenheim; and Mrs. William Lockie, Galt. The funeral took place to Ayr Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon and was largely attended, The services were in charge of Rev. J. W. Currie and the pallbearers were as follows: Messrs. Thomas Hall Passes

Former Reeve of North Dumfries Township and Warden of the County of Waterloo

In the passing of Thomas Hall at his home, Hall street, on Monday afternoon, Ayr loses a prominent and highly esteemed citizen. Mr. Hall, who had been in poor health for some time, was in his 82^nd year.

He was born on the Hall homestead, 12^th concession of Blenheim, now occupied by D. B. Mitchell, being a son of Andrew Hall and Margaret Robson, Scottish pioneers.

Following his marriage, Mr. Hall took up farming on the property now owned by Amos Shantz, North Dumfries. He later removed to the Thomas Mitchell farm, Nithvale, now occupied by Arthur Jarvis, and retired to Ayr 21 years ago, where he purchased the Charles McGeorge property, Hall street.

After coming to this village, Mr. Hall was for many years in charge of the retail store of James A. Dalzell, implement dealer, Stanley St.

While in the township, Mr. Hall was prominent in municipal politics, serving as Councillor and Reeve of the North Dumfries Council and holding the office of Warden of the County of Waterloo for a term.

Mr. Hall was also prominent in the religious life of the community. A member of the former Stanley Street Church, he affiliated with Knox United Church when union was consummated. Here he occupied a position on the Board of Managers for a considerable period and was later appointed to the Trustee Board. For many years, he held the office of treasurer of the congregation, in which capacity he continued to act until his passing.

Mr. Hall was a man of sound judgment whose opinion was much sought after, and for some years he held the position of Justice of the Peace.

Besides one daughter, Miss Marjorie, he is survived by one sister, Miss Mary Hall, Ayr. His wife, whose maiden name was Agnes Deans, predeceased him in 1929.

The funeral took place this (Wednesday) afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery.

Mary O. Hall Passes

One of Ayr's oldest citizens, Miss Mary O. Hall, Hall St., passed away at Paris Nursing Home on Thursday in her 89th year. She had been ill for some time. Born on the farm now owned by David Mitchell, RR 4, Bright, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hall. She was the last surviving member of the family. Miss Hall had lived in Ayr for many years, and was a valued member of Knox United Church. The Funeral Private funeral service was conducted at the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Saturday, with interment in Ayr Cemetery. Rev. J. W. Currie and Rev. W. J. V. Buchanan officiated. AYR - A retired farmer, Murdo (Mac) McRae Robson, 75, of RR 1, Ayr, died Monday in the K-W Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. Mr. Robson was born in Blandford Township, Oxford County. He was Presbyterian. His wife survives. Mr. Robson was born Dec. 19, 1877. Also surviving are three sons, Thomas, Charles and Donald of Ayr district and one daughter, Mrs. Emmerson (Janet) McDonald of Ayr; and four grandchildren. Rev. A. R. McRae - Prominent Minister Succumbs After Protracted Illness

After a prolonged illness, the death occurred at his home, 141 West Colborne street, Brantford, early Saturday afternoon of Rev. Andrew Robson McRae, for the last eight years minister of Balfour Street United Church, West Brantford. Rev. Mr. McRae was ordained to the Christian ministry in 1912, after being graduated from Queen's University, Kingston, and during an active and very successful career as minister in the Presbyterian and, subsequently, United Church of Canada he served in charges at, Kintyre, Ont., East Oxford and Blenheim, Glenmorris and Brantford. He became a minister of the United Church at the time of union. Rev. Mr. McRae, who was in his 51st year, was twice married, his first wife, who was formerly Miss Rachel McRuer, predeceased him in 1922. He leaves to mourn his loss his sorrowing widow, whose maiden name was Isobel McCormick; three sons, Donald, Neil and Andrew, all at, home; 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Mrs. Sheldon Stockton, Ayr; Miss Annie McRae, Ayr; Murdo McRae. Ayr; Rev. Dr. John McRae, BA., B.D.. D.D., of Toronto. formerly President of Shantung University, Tsinah, China; and Alex. McRae, Ayr. For some three or four years past Rev. Mr. McRae had not enjoyed the best of health, but had carried on his pastoral duties faithfully until a little more than a year ago, when he was compelled through illness to relinquish his more active work. He bore his suffering with characteristic patience and Christian faith. His loss will be a severe one not only to his family and congregation but to the ministerial ranks of Brantford and to the United Church, in the councils of which, particularly in the Hamilton Conference, Rev. Mr. McRae was active. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from his late residence, West Colborne street, Brantford, where a private service was held at 2 o'clock, followed by public service, at Balfour United Church. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery, where many Ayr friends and relatives had gathered to pay their list respect s. The pallbearers were fellow ministers of the Brantford Presbytery.

Alexander T. McRae Passes

A well-known and highly respected Ayr resident, Alexander Thomas McRae, passed away at Willett Hospital, Paris, on Saturday. Mr. McRae, who was 79 years of age, had been in ill health for some time. He was born on the 6th concession of South Dumfries on December 3, 1888, a son of the late Andrew McRae and Isabel Hobson McRae. He farmed the family acres until 13 years ago when he retired into Ayr, at which time the farm passed into the hands of his son Ian. Mr. McRae was a valued member of Knox United Church where, over the years, he served in many capacities including the office of elder. He was also a member of the choir for many years. Mr. McRae was a lawn bowler, and was affiliated with the local club. Surviving, besides his wife, the former Catherine Kennedy, are two sons, Murray of Denfield, Ont., and Ian of South Dumfries; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Mackie (Jessie) of Ayr, and twelve grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Tuesday from Knox United Church, conducted by Rev. D. E. Willis. Temporary entombment was made in Ayr Cemetery Chapel.

Miss Laurie Mitchell Passes

One of Ayr's senior and most respected residents, Miss Laurie Deans Mitchell passed away at the Freeport Nursing Home on Tuesday She had been in ailing health for more than a year. Born in Ayr, she was a daughter of the late John Wallace Mitchell and Catherine Robson. For some years the family resided on a farm in South Dumfries. Miss Mitchell later returned to this village, where she spent her lifetime. She was a valued member of Knox United Church and a life member of the Woman's Missionary Society. Miss Mitchell took a keen interest in community social life and was a member of Ayr Women's Institute and the bowling club. She is survived by a sister, Miss Jean Mitchell, Ayr, and several nephews and nieces. The funeral will be held from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Friday at 2.30 p.m. to the Ayr Cemetery.

Miss Jean Mitchell Passes

The death occurred early Saturday morning, March 9, one of Ayr's highly respected senior citizens, Miss Jean Mitchell, in her 87th year. Miss Mitchell had resided for some time at the home of her friend, Mrs. Lyon Findlater, St. Andrew's Ave., Ayr. She was the last of the family of the late John Mitchell and Katherine Robson, pioneers of this district, and is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mrs. John Mitchell of Paris and Mrs. Thos. Mitchell of Toronto. Miss Mitchell spent her active years employed at the University of Toronto as housekeeper and house-mother in the student dormitories. She often met, in later years, ministers whom she had known as theological students at Knox College. Miss Mitchell was a faithful member of Knox United Church and a life member of the Women's Missionary Society. She was an active member of Ayr Women's Institute, and was a staunch Liberal.

The Funeral

The funeral service was held on Monday at the W. O. Ball Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Stanley Tose, Paris (in the absence of Rev. J W. V. Buchanan). Interment was in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Geoffrey Mitchell of Burlington, William Mitchell of Toronto, Thomas Mitchell Q.C., of Chatham, Charles, Harold of Paris, nephews of Miss Mitchell, and Ian McRae and Thomas, Robson of Ayr.

Sudden Passing of Esteemed Resident is Regretted by Many Friends

A well-known and highly-esteemed native of this community passed away suddenly on Thursday morning at her home one mile south of Ayr in the person of Jessie Isobel Robson, beloved wife of John Easton, in her 64th year.

Mrs. Easton sustained a heavy stroke on Wednesday, January 23rd, followed by a second stroke the next day, which was the immediate cause of her passing.

She was born on the Robson homestead, near the C.P.R. depot, being a daughter of James Robson and Christina Gemmell.

Mr. and Mrs. Easton celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in October, 1944. Mrs. Easton was a member of Knox United Church, a member of the Kate M. Thomson Auxiliary, and a former valued member of the Women's Institute.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, James and Mary, at home; one sister, Mrs. William S. Marshall, Ayr, and two brothers, John Robson, Alsask, Sask., and Andrew Robson. Toronto.

The Funeral.

The funeral, which took place on Saturday afternoon to Ayr Cemetery was largely attended. The services were in charge of Rev. R. A. Steed assisted by Rev. J. W. Currie. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The pallbearers were: R. E. Maeder, P. L. Gourlay, J. A. Gillespie, J. A. Manson, Charles Gunn and Erle Sharp. Acting as flower-bearers were: George Gillespie, Warren Vincent, Douglas Maus and A!den Cochrane.

Andrew Robson Passes

Death Came Suddenly to Former Ayr Resident at Alsask, Sask. His many Ayr friends were deeply shocked on Thursday to of the sudden passing at Alsask, Sask., of Andrew Thomas Robson, aged 60 years, as a result of a heart attack.

He was born in Ayr, being a son of the late James Robson and Christena Gemmell, and resided here until about 20 years ago when he left for Toronto.

As a young man, "Crook," as he was familiarly known, was quite popular with many friends and acquaintances in the village.

It might here be noted that during the past eight months, three members of the Robson family have passed away, namely: Mrs. John Easton, South Dumfries, in January; John Robson, Alsask in May, and now Andrew.

He left for Alsask early in July in connection with the settling up of the estate of his brother, the late John Robson.

Surviving are his wife, whose maiden name was Mayme Morton a native of Ayr, and a sister, Mrs. William S. Marshall of Ayr. A brother, Morton Robson, passed away three years ago, and another brother, Bert, died at Alsask, Sask., some 15 years ago.

The Funeral.

The funeral took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Tuesday upon the arrival of the C.P.R. morning train from Toronto. Rev. R. A. Steed had charge of the service at the grave side and the pallbearers were: Murdo McRae, Alex McRae, David Gemell, J. C. Swan, F. R. McGrogan and Geo. H. Lawrence. There was a large attendance, including a number of relatives and friends from Toronto, Galt and Paris.

Herbert Robson is Victim of Auto Accident - The sad news was received by his mother, Mrs. James L. Robson, on Tuesday morning of the death at Alsask., Sask., of her son Herbert, who was injured in an automobile accident on Sunday morning. Deceased, who was about 35 years of age, was born here. When about 18 years old he secured employment with the Canadian Copper Company at Copper Cliff. He was later transferred by the company to Halifax. He enlisted at that point when the war broke out, and served for several years in Egypt. When in that country he contracted a severe attack of malaria fever, and, upon his arrival back home, he went west for the benefit of his health, settling at Alsask. The news of his sudden demise came as a great shock to his many friends here among whom he was held in high esteem. Besides his mother, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: John, Alsask; Morton, Ayr; Andrew, Oshawa; Mrs. John Easton, South Dumfries; Mrs. Wm. Marshall, Blenheim. The remains will be brought to Ayr for interment.
