Mabel passed peacefully with family around her on March 11, 2015. She has gone to reunite with her beloved husband, Wilson, who predeceased her 25 years ago. She was also predeceased by her dad and mom, Clarence and Elmedia Schmitt, her sister, Ilene and all her in-laws. She will be sorely missed by her son, Robert, her daughter, Marilyn Girodat (Bob) and her "special" daughter, Connie Holmes (Jim). She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren and their spouses, Nicole (Brad) and Todd Girodat (Aimee). "GG" will be lovingly remembered by her great grandchildren, who were the joy of her life - Cole, Carter, Max and Carys. She will also be missed by her nephew, Grant (Jeanne), her niece, Sue Ann (Owen), her nephew, Gil and many other nieces and nephews and all of their families. Mabel was "Mom and Grandma" to a large extended family who will also deeply mourn her loss. Her 4 legged angel, "Dougie" will be lonesome without her. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Erinn Owens for the wonderful, loving care she gave to Mom. She was amazing. Thank you also to Dr. Fielder and the 5th floor crew at St. Mary's Hospital for being so kind and considerate to Mom in her stays. We are thankful also for the wonderful care she received from CCAC, from her case managers to her PSWs, to her OTs and PTs, from both Red Cross and Paramed over the years. Thank you as well to the Palliative Team for their kindness and consideration through a very difficult time. Sarah, thank you for your kindness, your caring and your prayers. A special thank you from us and "Mama" to her "Guardian Angel," Kristine. You always took such special care of her. Mom was a very wonderful lady who was always there when you needed her. She always saw the good in everyone and everything.
