    Notes:

    HENRY JOHN NEEB 1895 - 1985 Henry John Neeb, the eldest son of the late George Neeb and Clara nee Seebach, was born in North Easthope township near Wellesley on January 18, 1895. He was baptized on April 28, 1895 by Rev. Daniel Lochner of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellesley and confirmed in the same church by Rev. H. Battenburg on April 9, 1911.

    He received his elementary schooling in North Easthope public school and then went to the Stratford Business College. He served with the Canadian Army during the First World War and was shipped overseas to England in 1918 just shortly before the war came to an end.

    After the war he went to work with the Milling Company in Wellesley and then in 1923 to the Tavistock Milling Company where he served as Secretary Treasurer until retirement in 1961. in Tavistock he was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, holding various positions on the church council including that of Treasurer for many years.

    On June 25, 1924, he was united in holy wedlock to Irene Strebel by Rev. G. E. Pranschke at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Petersburg. The Lord blessed this union with three children: Kenneth John (1927-1971), Shirley Anne (Mrs. Lloyd Wentzlaff) 1929, and Joy Elizabeth (Mrs. Earl Hebner) 1932. Upon his retirement in 1961, Henry and Irene moved to Kitchener and became members of Faith Lutheran Church in Forest Hill where he served for several years as janitor and also as a lay delegate to the Ontario District Convention. After his wife's health failed in 1975 from a series of strocks, they sold their home and built an apartment on the back of Bette and Earl Hebner's home at 37 Lichty Crescent in Kitchener. On November 15, 1976 his wife died in her sleep in her 78th year. He continued to live alone in his apartment until he was hospitalized in the middle of May.

    He was predeceased by his parents, by his wife Irene, by his son Ken, and by four sisters; Emma (Mrs. Dan Erb), Ella (Mrs. Geo. Mueller), Pearl (Mrs. Alfred Schmidt), Esther (Mrs. Alfred Cook); and ny one brother, Irvin Need. He is survived by his two daughters Shirley and Joy Elizabeth, by one daughter-in-law; Mrs. Lorraine Neeb of Mississauga, by ten grandchildren, by three great-grand-children; also by five brothers; Herbert Need of Detroit, Clemence Neeb of Kitchener, Walter Neeb of Wellesley, Harold Neeb of Shakespeare and Gordon Neeb of Kitchener.

    Early on Monday morning, June 17th, the Lord received this faithful servant to the home prepared for all those whose lives belong to their gracious Saviour. The Lord has given, the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

    Henry married Irene Elizabeth Strebel 25 Jun 1924, Petersburg, Wilmot Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Irene (daughter of Jacob Strebel and Louisa Magdalena Schaaf) was born 16 Dec 1898, Wellesley Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; died 15 Nov 1976; was buried , Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Petersburg, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada.
