Of 140 Royal Oak Rd., Cambridge, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1986, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Mary Huber; dear father of Bert and his wife Carol of Kitchener, Marg (Mrs. Jim Peterman) of Cambridge (G), Rita (Mrs. Bob Rittenhouse) of Kitchener; brother of Hilbert of Kitchener, Clarence of Wellesley, Eleanor Dietrich of Kitchener, Rose Drussell of Maryland, USA. Also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one daughter, Mary Anne Cater; four brothers and five sisters. Mr. Straus was born in Bamberg, Ont.; a resident of Cambridge (P) for 44 years. Employed by Canadian Office and School Furniture for a number of years, retiring from Beaver Furniture. A member of St. Clement's RC Church, the Knights of Columbus, Preston Horticultural Society, the Galt Horticultural Society and the Hespeler Horticultural Society, Kitchener Senior Citizens Club. Friends will be received at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St Clement's RC Church, Duke Street, Cambridge, Friday, Oct. 31, 1986, at 10 a.m. Interment at Parklawn cemetery.
