LICHTI, Kenneth W. Kenneth Wray Lichti, 81, of Tavistock passed away peacefully with family by his side at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born in Waterloo County on June 2, 1935 a son of the late John and Barbara (Bender) Lichti. Ken has owned and operated Ken's Barber Shop in Tavistock for 41 years; was a member of Tavistock Men's Club for over 50 years and was a Past President of the club; he had served as a member of the Council of East Zorra-Tavistock from 1974- 1980; was an authorized dealer for Electrolux Vacuums (AERUS) for 40 years; was involved in activities such as driving for the Canadian Cancer Society, delivering Meals on Wheels, floral delivery as well as being an active member of Tavistock Mennonite Church. Ken is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Ferne Gerber whom he married on October 13, 1956; six children, Bradley and wife Christine Lichti of Fullarton, Brian Lichti of Stratford, Connie and husband George Werner of Wilmot Centre, Randall and wife Sherri Lichti of Tavistock (Sebastopol), Philip Lichti of Kingston, Stephen Lichti of Mitchell; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elroy Lichti of New Hamburg, Lincoln and wife Maryann Lichti of Tavistock; one sister, Leona Bender of New Hamburg; two sisters-in-law, Emmalien Lichti and Geneva Lichti, both of Tavistock; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Anna Gerber of Wellesley along with several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by one grandson, Jay (in infancy), three brothers, Elmon Lichti, Stanley Lichti, Mervin Lichti; one sister, Helena Lichti (in infancy); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Loretta Lichti, Irma Lichti, Mervin Bender, Elsie and Harold Lichti. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Tavistock Mennonite Church on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jim Brown will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th Line. Reception following.
