    Of Crosshill, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 1978, at. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Born in Wellesley Township 69 years ago, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob B. Jantzi. A member of the Crosshill Mennonite Church; farmed in Wellesley Township. retired to Crosshill. Beloved husband of Laura Gerber; beloved father of Melvin of Route 2, Petersburg. Orland of Route 1, Linwood, Stanley of Route 1, Millbank, Mrs. Mervin(Dorothy) Roth of Route 1, Tavistock and Esther Jantzi of Cambridge; brother of Aaron W. Jantzi of Millbank, Samuel Jantzi of Wellesley and Mrs. Irvin(Miriam) Nafziger of New Hamburg; also survived by nine grandchildren. Predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home in Wellesley where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. At noon Saturday, January 14, the remains will be removed to Maple View Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Steven Gerber will officiate. Interment to follow in the Maple View Mennonite cemetery.

    Jantzi, Elias W., son of Jacob and Magdalene (Wagler) Jantzi, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont.; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Jan. 11, 1978; aged 69 y. He was married to Laura Gerber, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons (Melvin, Orland, and Stanley), 2 daughters (Dorothy - Mrs. Mervin Roth and Esther), 2 brothers (Aaron W. and Samuel Jantzi) and one sister (Miriam Nafziger). He was a member of Crosshill Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the Maple View Mennonite Church on Jan. 14, in charge of Steve Gerber and Ervin Erb.

    JANTZI, Orland July 9, 1940 - August 30, 2012 Passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 72. Beloved husband and best friend of Eleanor of 49 years. Beloved father of Tom (Sherri) and Cynthia Clasper. Orland was a loving Grandpa and Papa to his three special grand-daughters, Candice, Jadyn and Chloe. Dear brother of Mel (Pat) Jantzi, Dorothy Roth, Esther (Mel) Harrison, Stan (Lisa) Jantzi. He is also survived by Eleanor's sisters and brothers Delphine (Mel) Zehr, Joy (Cornelius) Klassen, Kathy (Paul) Steckle, Chuck (Tanya) Erb, Marjorie Steckle, and Phil (Laurie) Erb. Predeceased by his parents Elias and Laura Jantzi, in-laws Mervin Roth, Gerald Steckle, Carol and Cyril Erb Gingerich, nephew Peter Hammer and niece Connie Steckle. Orland lived for his work as the owner and operator of Summer Breeze Heating and Air Conditioning. He enjoyed life and work to the fullest and never gave a thought to retirement. He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Kitchener. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, September 3, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 4, from 1-2 p.m. at First Mennonite Church, 800 King St. E., Kitchener. The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. at First Mennonite Church. Reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation to follow.
