    GIDEON REIST

    Ill for weeks, Gideon Reist, 69, of I Krug street, died at K-W Hospital, early Sunday. Deceased, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reist and was born in Kossuth on Oct. 11, 1869. He was a life-long member of the Mennonite Brethren in Christ Church. Mr. Reist's first wife predeceased him 13 years ago. He was later married to Mrs.Ella Hallman. Surviving are five sons and three step sons, Lanson and Elgin of New Dundee, Luman of Kitchener, Gilbert of Red Deer, Alta., Leonard of Preston, Frank Hallman of Sudbury, Harold and Reginald Hallman of Kitchener, one daughter, Mrs. Roy Karcher of Centreville, one brother, Theodore of Didsbury, Alta. and 14 grandchildren. One daughter, Myrtle Reim and one step daughter, Grace Hallman, predeceased him. Funeral services will be private from the home on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock to Bethany Mennonite Brethren in Christ church at 2 pm., for public services with interment in Blenheim Cemetery. Rev. C. N. Good will officiate. Remains will be at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 4 p.m. Tuesday.

    Gideon Reist

    The death occurred at the K.-W. Hospital, early Sunday morning, of Gideon Reist, 1 Krug street, Kitchener, in his 70th year. Deceased was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Toman, 13 years ago.

    Surviving are his second wife, five sons, Lanson, New Dundee, Luman, Kitchener, Elgin, New Dundee, Gilbert, Red Deer, Alta., Leonard, Preston; one daughter, Mrs. R. Karcher, Centreville, three step-sons, Frank Hallman, Sudbury, Harold and Reginald, of Kitchener; one brother, Theo. Reist, Didsbury, Alta. He was predeceased by two daughters.

    A private funeral service will be held at the residence on Wednesday afternoon, following by a public, service at Bethany M.B.C. Church at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in Blenheim cemetery.

    At the K-W Hospital on Saturday, August 30, 1975, suddenly following a heart attack, Lanson Reist, formerly of 89 Ross Ave., Kitchener, aged 80 years. A member of Bethany Missionary Church; son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gideon Reist; husband of the late Amy Diefenbacher who predeceased him in 1974; father of Elmer, Waterloo, Kenneth, St. Charles, Ill., Elaine (Mrs. OrIan Srigley), St. Catharines; brother of Elgin, New Dundee, Luman, Kitchener, Leonard, Cambridge and Ella (Mrs. Roy Karcher), Kitchener; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive; he was predeceased by one brother, Gilbert and one sister, Myrtle. Funeral service was held today at Bethany Missionary Church with Rev. C. E. Hunking officiating. Interment was in Memory Gardens.

    Beloved father of Lester and his wife Marjorie of Waterloo, Irvin and his wife Marilyn of New Dundee, Armintha and her husband Elroy Belbeck of Owen Sound and Joanne and her husband Reynold Kipfer of Kitchener; brother of Leonard and Mrs. Ella Karcher, both of Kitchener; grandfather of Glen Belbeck of Calgary, Alta., Kevin Belbeck of Collingwood, John Belbeck of Virginia, U.S.A. Brent and Lori Anne Reist of Waterloo, Sharon and Sheila Kipfer of Kitchener, Tanya, Deanne and Jason Reist, all of New Dundee; great-grandfather of Denver and Dallas Belbeck of Calgary.

    Predeceased by his parents, Gideon Reist and the former Nancy Toman: his wife, the former Hilda Rosenberger; three brothers, Lanson, Luman and Gilbert and one sister, Myrtle.
