SCHMIDT, Mrs. Joseph\emdashOn Friday, Feb. 20, 1981, at her home, RR 1, Linwood. She was born in East Zorra Township 88 years ago, the former Olive Magdalena Wagler. She was the daughter of the late Jacob Wagler and the late Lydia Brenneman.

Mother of John of RR 1, Wallenstein and Mrs. Mary Huot of RR 1, Lucan, Lydia and Nancy, both of RR 1, Linwood; dear sister of Solomon Wagler of Gordonville, Penn., Jonas Wagler of New Hamburg, Lydia (Mrs. Nick Schmidt) of Newton, Mrs. Dorothy Steckley of Route 2, At wood, and Veronica (Mrs. Dan Albrecht) of RR 1, Newton. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Schmidt, November 17, 1969, and also by two brothers.

Visitation at the family residence where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, Feb. 23, 1981 at 1 p.m., Bishop Amos Albrecht officiating. Interment will follow in the 7^th line Amish Mennonite cemetery, Wellesley Township.

SCHMIDT, John W. - Died peacefully at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, May 14, 2009, John of RR 1, Wallenstein (Dorking), in his 89th year. Beloved husband of 60 years to Lydia (nee Albrecht). Loving father of Eileen (Leif Nielsen) of Kitchener, Kenneth (Margaret) of Kitchener, Edith (John Dunbar) of Listowel, Floyd of RR 3, Moorefield, Gordon (Marina) of Alberta, Doris (Budd McLaughlin) of Drayton, Ronald of Cambridge, Wayne (Irene) of Milverton, Walter of Elmira, Stanley of RR 1, Moorefield and Donna Klasen and her friend Kevin Linkert of Ayr. Dear grandfather of 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Lydia Schmidt and Nancy Schmidt both of RR 1, Linwood; his brother-in-law, Rueben Albrecht (Matilda) of RR 1, Millbank; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Schmidt and Malinda Albrecht both of Newton. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Alif (nee Wagler); and his sister, Mary Lowden; brothers-in-law, Amos Albrecht, Harvey Albrecht, William Wagler, Jacob Schmidt; and sister-in-law, Edna Wagler. John was a retired farmer in the Millbank area and a retired employee of Roxton Furniture in Elmira.
