Schultz, Annie, daughter of David and Magdalena (Swartzendruber) Leis, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont., Feb. 23, 1890; died at her home, Wellesley, Ont., Jan. 22, 1964; aged 73 y. 10 m. 30 d. On Jan. 18, 1901, she was married to Samuel L. Schultz, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Beatrice - Mrs. Samuel N. Schultz), 4 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 5 sisters. She was a member of the Maple View A.M. Church, where her husband is bishop, and she faithfully shared the cares and labors of the church with him. Memorial services were held Jan. 25, in charge of Christian Streicher and Alvin Leis.

Erb, Moses O., son of John L. and Barbara (Oesch) Erb, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont., Apr. 13, 1889; died of heart complications at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., May 4, 1973; aged 84 y. 21 d. On Mar. 10, 1918, he was married to Mary Steinman, who preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 1969. Surviving are 3 sons (Alvin, Milton, and Harold), 3 daughters (Liona - Mrs. Earl Paddington, Eva - Mrs. Milton Kuepfer, and Wilma - Mrs. Norman Kuepfer), 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers (Daniel, David, and Norman), and one sister (Mattie - Mrs. Allan Gingerich). Surviving are his bereaved companion, one son (Arlan, at home), 5 brothers (Moses, Daniel, Christian, and Norman, all of Wellesley Twp.; and David, of Wilmot Twp.) and 2 sisters (Magdlena-Mrs. Allan Gingerich and Katherine-Mrs. Daniel Steinman, both of Wilmot Twp.). He passed away while at his desk preparing a sermon. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Valentine Nafziger and at the Maple View Church by Peter Nafziger and Earl J. Maust. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

BISHOP ERB, Wellesley, dies at 70

Wellesley - Bishop Christian O. Erb, of 19 David St., Wellesley, of the Maple View Mennonite Church here, died today at Stratford Hospital after a brief illness. He was 70. He was ordained bishop of the church Aug. 27, 1967, after being deacon from April 27, 1952, to April 24, 1960, when he was ordained a minister. Born in Wellesley Township, Oct. 5, 1900, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John L. Erb. Besides his church work, he farmed on the Third line of the township until retiring in April 1963. One brother and one sister predeceased him. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Gingerich whom he married Oct. 28, 1925, in Wilmot Township; four brothers, Moses of Wellesley, Daniel of Kitchener, David of RR 2, Petersburg, and Norman of RR 2, Wellesley, and one sister, Mrs. Allen (Mattie) Gingerich of Baden. The body will be at the Erb home from 2 p.m. Thursday until Saturday at 11 a.m. when removal will be made to the church for a service at 2 p.m. Rev. Alvin Leis and Rev. Jacob Rose will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple View Mennonite cemetery. Contributions to the Western Ontario Mennonite Mission Board will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

Mattie was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church where she was a member of the WMSC. She was a member of the Especially For Seniors, Baden and enjoyed quilting and flowers as her hobby. Beloved wife of Allan B. Gingerich who predeceased her in 1972. Loving mother of Reta and her husband Anson Bender of Baden, Ralph Gingerich and his wife Louise of RR#1, St. Agatha, Marjorie and her husband Ken Jantzi of New Hamburg. Ever remembered by 9 grandchildren, 18 grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law Annie Erb of New Hamburg, Clara Erb of Wellesley, Violet Steinman of RR #2 New Hamburg and a brother-in-law Joel Jantzi and his wife Irene of New Hamburg. Mattie was predeceased by a great-grandson Nicholas Jantzi, six brothers Mose, Daniel, Samuel, Christian, David and Norman and one sister Catherine (Mrs. Daniel Steinmann). Of Route 2, Petersburg, passed away at his residence, May 10, 1976, age 71 years. He was born December 8, 1904 in Wellesley Township, and had resided most of his life in Wilmot Township area. He was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church; a son of the late John L. Erb and Barbra Oesch. Surviving is his wife the former Annie Gerber; one son, Carl of Route 2, Petersburg; five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Florence) Steinman of Route 2, New Hamburg, Mrs.Vernon (June) Schwartzentruber of Route 2, Baden, Mrs. Elroy (Hilda) Gingerich of Route 2, Petersburg, Mrs. Laverne (Marjorie) Schwartzentruber of Baden, Mrs. Harold (Darlene) Culp of Route 1, Atwood; two brothers, Daniel O. Erb of Kitchener, Norman O. Erb of Wellesley; one sister, Mrs. Allan (Mattie) Gingerich of Baden; 26 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Erb. - William O. Erb, son of Christian L. and Elizabeth Erb, was born in Wellesley, Ont., Oct. 11, 1898; passed away Dec. 11, 1928; aged 30 y. 2 m. He came to Michigan in 1918. On Dec. 14, 1921, he was united in marriage to Alice Wideman. To this union was born one daughter, Anna Mae. He leaves his sorrowing wife, daughter, father, mother, 2 brothers, 6 sisters, and many other relatives and friends. He had been failing in health for the last two years, but his case was not thought serious until the last few weeks of his life. He gave himself fully into the hands of the Lord and said, "Thy will be done." In 1913 he accepted his Lord and united with the Maple View A. M. Church, Wellesley, Ont. When he came to Michigan he united with the Berne Mennonite Church and remained faithful until the end. He will be greatly missed at church services, for he was always present when health permitted. Funeral services were held at the Berne Mennonite Church on Dec. 14 by Bros. Chris Schrag, Zurich, Ont., and S. J. Miller. Text, Heb. 9: 27. Interment in the Mennonite Cemetery.

Leona PADINGTON - Mrs. Leona Padington, 83, of the Queensway Retirement Home, Hensall, passed away, peacefully, at her residence, on Monday, Dec. 9, 2002.She was born on the family farm near Wellesley, October 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Moses and Mary (Steinman) Erb. Mrs. Padington has worked as a nursing assistant and later in the Wardrobe Department at the Festival Theatre for many years until her retirement. She was an active member for many years with St. John's Ambulance and was active with her church in Stratford, Shakespeare and Tobermory. She was a member of the Knox Church Mary and Martha, was a youth advisor for the Presbyterian Young Peoples Society and was active at the Presbytery Level with the Women's Missionary Society. Beloved wife of the late Earl Padington who predeceased her November 3, 1988. Loving mother of Myrann and husband Neal Nickles, Goderich; grandmother of Derek Nickles and wife Charlene, Ottawa, Jana and husband Marc Cousineau, Aylmer, Quebec, Andrea Nickles, Goderich; great-grandmother of Marieve and Timothy Cousineau; dear sister of Harold Erb and wife Violet, Wellesley, Milt Erb and wife Marjorie, Wellesley, Eva and husband Milt Kuepfer, Crosshill, Wilma and husband Norm Kuepfer, Linwood. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Annie Erb, Hampstead and many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Alvin Erb. Family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford, on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Rev. James Perrie will officiate. Reception will follow. Private family burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph. Eva was an active and founding member of Crosshill Mennonite Church, involved in missions ministry of many kinds, and taught Vacation Bible School. Milt and Eva travelled extensively and explored the world together in their camper van. As a hobby, he spent many hours doing wood carving and sold many at the ABC and Blyth Festivals. Our homes are filled with his carvings and will serve as a memory of dad. NAFZIGER, Emerson - Emerson Nafziger. of RR1, Tavistock, passed away in Woodstock General Hospital, on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, his 86th birthday.

He. was born in Wilmot township, Waterloo County on January 7, 1919 a son of the late Daniel Nafziger and the former Nancy Erb. He had worked for Canada Steamship Lines, was a cheesemaker at the Wellesley Cheese Factory prior to 1956 when he moved to his. farm in East Zorra township. Emerson was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sebastopol and in his leisure time enjoyed bowling and playing games. .

He is survived by his wife; the former Delphine Heinbuch, whom he married at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sebastopol on October 15, 1955; his daughter, Twyla Nafziger of Mississauga; two brothers, Floyd and wife Erma Nafziger of Kitchener, Leonard and wife Joyce Nafziger of Waterloo; three sisters, Vera Wismer of New Hamburg, Edna Zehr of Tavistock, Betty Steffler of Waterloo and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Elmer Nafziger and wife Ann, Vernon Nafziger and wife Elda; three sisters, Dorothy Martin, Erma Coverett and husband Lyle, Alice Nafziger (in infancy); brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Laverne Zehr, Gerald Stater, Harold Wismer, Delton and Lavele Bender.

At Marmora Caressant Care Nursing Home, Floyd, aged 94, passed peacefully, Wednesday morning, February 22. Son of the late Daniel and Nancy (Erb) Nafziger. Beloved husband of Erma (Lemp) Nafziger. It is also with great sadness to report Erma, aged 89, passed away Monday afternoon, February 27, 2017. Daughter of the late Wilfred and Clara (Wagner) Lemp. Floyd: Predeceased by his son Jeffery Nafziger and his brothers Emerson, Elmer, Vernon and by his sisters, Alice (in infancy), Erma Coverette, Dorothy Martin, Vera Wismer, Edna Zehr and Betty Steffler and will be missed by his dear brother, Leonard (Joyce) Nafziger. Erma: Predeceased by her son Jeffery, her brothers Hilbert, Eldon and Carl (Lemp) and sister Verda Lipskie and will be missed by her dear brother Alfred (Mary) Lemp and loving sisters Mildred Faulkner and Gertrude Kukor. Floyd and Erma were married just short of 65 years and were very proud to have raised such a large family of sons and daughters. They are survived by and dearly missed by the rest of their children: David, Larry (Debbie), Ross (Terese), Ralph (Toni), Thomas, Timothy (Dianne), Kathryn and Susan (Joe) Gerber. Also survived by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Tim and Dianne Nafziger, for the loving care they provided for their parents, over the past five years. She was an amazing cook and her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of her home cooking. Special thanks to the staff at Winston Park for their compassionate and loving care of our mother. Special thanks to Dr. Bryant and Dr. Cruickshank , to the head of nursing Chris-Anne Preston and to the nurses Elsie, Breanna, Tala, Shauna, Lois and Sandra. Florence was a woman of strong faith, whose huge heart left a lasting impression with all those she came in contact with, especially children.
