    ., son of Eli and Nancy (Cressman) Good, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Feb. 25, 1888; died at Freeport Hospital, --- Ont., Oct. 18, 1972; aged 84 y. 7 m. 23 d. In November 1917, he was married to Melinda Martin, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Edward and Walter), 4 daughters (Elma-Mrs. Gladwin Bender, Nina-Mrs. Oren Gimbel, Martha, and Pearl Good), 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (Moses and Joseph Good), and 2 sisters (Annie-Mrs. Allen Cressman and Almeta-Mrs. Angus Gingrich). One son and one daughter died in infancy. He was a member of the Biehn Mennonite Church, New Hamburg, Ont., where funeral services were held on Oct. 21, in charge of Irvin Cressman; interment in Biehn Mennonite Cemetery.

    BENDER, Elma Elma passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014 with family at her side. She resided at Nithview Community, New Hamburg. She was born 95 years ago in Wilmot Township, the oldest daughter of the late Amos C. and Melinda (Martin) Good. Beloved wife of the late Gladwin Bender who predeceased her October 12, 2008. Loving mother of Bertha and husband Ray Gingerich of Kingston, Arnie and wife Barbara Bender of Wellesley, Maynard and wife Lila Bender of Conestogo, Sharon Gingerich of Kitchener. Sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Remembered by her brother Walter and wife Martha Good of R.R. # 2 Gowanstown, sisters Nina Gimbel of Cambridge, Martha Good of New Hamburg, Pearl Good of Arkansas, sister-in-law Ina Bender of Tavistock and Jim Gingerich of Kitchener. Elma was predeceased by brothers Edward and wife Olive Good, Vernon Good, sister Mary Good and brother-in-law Oren Gimbel. Elma was a member of Nith Valley Mennonite Church, New Hamburg where she was a member of the WMSC and a former member of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener WMSC. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers and volunteering at the House of Friendship Live and Learn Program. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A public interment will take place prior to the service on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Nith Valley Mennonite Cemetery. The funeral service to celebrate Elma's life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Nith Valley Mennonite Church with Pastors Matthew and Hendrike Isert Bender officiating.     Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Fairview Mennonite Home, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Oren (2001). Loving mother of Ruby (Dave) Rorke, Ross (Jayne) Gimbel and Kathryn (Bruce) Martin. Cherished grandmother of Janice Nesbitt, Joel (Janine) Rorke, Larry Scotchmer, Trevor (Donna) Gimbel, Lisa Scotchmer, Tracy McEachern, Darren Martin and Kari Martin and great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren. Survived by sister Pearl Good of Arkansas, brother-in-law Howard Gimbel and sister-in-law Isabel Gimbel. Predeceased by siblings; Elma (Gladwin) Bender, Edward (Olive) Good, Martha Good, Walter (Martha) Good, Mary and Vernon in infancy and in-laws Helen (Urias) Martin, Verda Gimbel, Carol Gimbel, Ruth (Rex) Weber and Ken Gimbel. She was a longtime member of Preston Mennonite Church and a dedicated volunteer at Fairview Mennonite Home. Nina was also a member of the Preston Horticultural Society, where she won many awards for baking, sewing and gardening. Nina's family will receive relatives and friends from 2: 00 - 4: 00 p.m. and 7: 00 - 9: 00 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the HENRY WALSER FUNERAL HOME , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Preston Mennonite Church (791 Concession Rd., Cambridge) from 1: 00 - 1: 45 p.m. A service will take place in the church at 2: 00 p.m. Reception will follow in the church hall after the service. A family burial will take place at Hagey Cemetery, in the spring.

    GOOD, Edward -- On Friday , June 13, 1980, at Toronto General Hospital, Mr. Edward Good of 295 Hamilton St., New Hamburg, age 57 years. He was a member of the Nith Valley Mennonite Church, Waterloo County road 3; he was a salesman for World Book Childcraft International for the past twenty years after retiring from the farm; he was a director of the Mennonite Mutual Aid and past co-ordinator of the Mennonite Disaster service; he was a past president of the Ontario Safety Council. Beloved husband of the former Olive Axt, whom he married April 25, 1945; dear father of Merlyn and his wife Laurene of Hanover, Linford at home and Bernadine of Toronto. He was predeceased by a son Duane in 1971. Also surviving is one grandson Garrot Good of Hanover; one brother Walter Good of RR 2, Wroxeter, and four sisters, Elma (Mrs. Gladwin Bender) of Kitchener, Nina (Mrs. Oran Gimbel) of Cambridge(P), Martha Good of Kitchener and Pearl Good of Fort Smith, Ark. He was predeceased by his parents the late Amos Good and the former Melinda Martin. The late Mr. Good is resting at the Mark-Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg Chapel, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg after 7 p.m. tonight and until noon Monday, June 16, when removal will be made to Nith Valley Mennonite Church for the service at 3 p.m., with Rev, Amzie Brubacher officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

She was only sick a few days. She leaves father, mother, one brother (Edward), and three sisters (Martha, Nina, and Elma). Funeral services were conducted Feb. 6 at the home by Bro.     Pearl Good, 93, of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020. She was born Oct. 3, 1927, in New Hamburg, Ontario, to Amos and Melinda Good.

    She was preceded in death by her siblings, Elma, Nina, Edward, Martha, Walter, Vernon and Mary.

    She is survived by many nieces and nephews, who she adored. She is also survived by many friends and her church family at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, where she sang in the choir for many decades.

    Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at First Presbyterian Church with a second service to be held in Ontario this spring.

    Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

    GOOD, Walter M. Passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton, on July 10, 2017 two days before his 87th birthday. Walter M. Good was the beloved husband of Martha (Huber) Good who predeceased him on May 27, 2017. Dear father of Richard of Lethbridge, AB, Wanda (Paul) Gingrich of Gowanstown, and Marlin (Becky) of Tiverton. Grandfather of ten grand- children and twelve great-grand- children. Predeceased by his parents, Amos and Melinda (Martin) Good, daughter Margaret Martin, grandson Jeff Martin, sisters Elma (Gladwin) Bender, Mary (in infancy) and Martha, brothers Edward (Olive) and Vernon (in infancy), brothers-in-law George Huber, Laurie Riehl, and sisters-in-law Elizabeth (John) Burkholder, Gertrude (Ernest) DeLacy and Lois Huber (in infancy). Walter was a member of Zion Mennonite Fellowship, Cranbrook. He loved the Lord and was true to his convictions despite the changes that came, leading his family in paths that reflected those beliefs. He excelled in his farming vocation and provided well for his family. Relatives and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer St., Milverton on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A public interment will take place on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, St. Clements.     A funeral will be held in memory of Chad at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020, at West Fairview Mennonite Church, rural Beaver Crossing, for his family and close relatives and friends. For those who cannot attend, they can call 712-432-3990, get the conference ID (68405#) and be able to listen to the service live. (Remember to mute your phone while listening to the service) Burial is in the church cemetery. A Public Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the West Fairview Fellowship Hall. Memorials have been established to the family for future designation.

    Chad David Martin entered this world on January 3, 1977, in Listowel, Ontario to Melvin and Margaret (Good) Martin, the oldest of two sons and passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 43.

    Nearly 3 years later he became a big brother when Jeff arrived. Many birthday celebrations were shared with his cousins, Shawn and Lavon, as they were each born 6 weeks apart. Over the years, the family enjoyed many camping trips together. As a young boy, Chad attended Mornington Central Elementary School and later graduated from Listowel District Secondary School with the class of 1995. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Woodlawn Mennonite Fellowship on October 3, 1993. Chad was employed with a John Deere Dealership in Elmira, Ontario, later worked for Paul and Mirium Martin on their dairy farm. He also was employed for Brian Brubacher as delivery driver. He moved to Nebraska in 1999 where he was later united in marriage Marilyn Schweitzer and to this union four children were born: Brandon, Marci, Jessica and Erica. Together they lived west of Milford where he worked at NIFCO Mechanical where he installed fire sprinklers for almost 21 years. He was a member of the West Fairview Mennonite Church where he gladly led the congregation in singing. Chad was often seen working on his tractors or mowing. Chad was a hard-worker, had a great sense of humor, was a conscientious man who lived what he believed and loved his family with all his heart.

    Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, children, Brandon, Marci, Jessica and Erica, father, Melvin Martin, Millbank, ON, his now mom, Sharon Martin, also of Millbank, parents-in-law, Kevin and Charleen Schweitzer, Milford, sisters-in-law, Carol (Shane) Bennett, Richland Center, WI, Anita (Peter) Burkey, Beaver Crossing, brother-in-law, Nevin Schweitzer, Fort Collins, CO, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Martin, a step-mother, Lucy Martin, and a brother, Jeff Martin.

    MARTIN, Jeffrey Lee Passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home R.R. #1, Newton. He was born 36 years ago in Listowel. Beloved son of Melvin Martin and his wife Sharon of R.R. #1 Newton. Dear brother of Chad and Marilyn Martin of Milford, Nebraska. Sadly missed by his nephew Brandon and his nieces Marci, Jessica and Erica. Loving grandson of Walter and Martha Good of Milverton, Moses Bauman of Wallenstein, Glenn and Joyce Schwartzentruber of Poole. Remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousin and friends. Jeffrey was predeceased by his mother Margaret Ann (Good) Martin, stepmother Lucinda Martin and grandparents Joseph and Lydia Martin, Barbara Bauman. Jeffrey was a member of Woodlawn Mennonite Fellowship. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and again Saturday from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship Church, Hawkesville with the Ministry from Woodlawn officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clements. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Woodlawn Mennonite Fellowship Church Building Fund.
