    Mrs. John B. Schweitzer Dead

    The news of the sudden death of Mrs. Catharine Schweitzer, relict of the late John B. Schweitzer, of Jerusalem Section, came as a shock on Friday morning. Deceased was quite bright and well when she retired on Thursday evening, and was found dead in her bed by the family on Friday morning. She had reached the age of 69 years, 7 months and 11 days, and leaves to mourn the loss, 3 sons, John, near the old home, Martin C., with whom she lived on the old homestead, and Louis, who lately moved onto the farm he recently purchased from Mr. Wm. Klinck, and one daughter, Ida (Mrs. William Klinck), of Elmira. She also leaves 4 brothers and 2 sisters. A large number of friends attended the funeral, which was held on Monday afternoon, from her late home to the Conestogo Lutheran Church and cemetery. The bereaved have the sympathy of the community.

    Elmer Schweitzer

    Funeral service was held today (Tuesday) in Erbsville for Elmer Schweitzer, of RR3 Waterloo. He died November 15, 1986, at K-W hospital. He was 73.

    He was the husband of Versie Schaefer; father of Janice (Mrs. Paul Hill), of Carnydale; brother of Hilda (Mrs. Arthur Hahn), of Heidelberg, Reta (Mrs. Harry Bott), and Harold Schweitzer, all of Elmira; also survived by five grandchildren: Christopher, Jeremy, Matthew, Nancy and Justin; predeceased by his parents, Martin and Isabella Schweitzer, one son in infancy, and one sister, Erla Beisel.
    Burial was in St. Matthew's Lutheran cemetery, Conestogo.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at St. James Lutheran Church, 60 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Cherished grandfather of 9 wonderful grandchildren: Alison, Christopher, Jonathan, Caden, Rebecca, Bill ( Nicole ), Daniel and Robert. Resting at the Huntingville Community Church, Campbell Ave. Huntingville, where friends may call on Saturday, April 9th 2005 from 7 to 9pm and on Sunday, April 10th from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm, and on Monday, April 11th from 1 to 2pm.     Passed away peacefully, on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at the age of 94 years. Norma, of Elmira, formerly of RR 2, Elmira, was the dear wife of the late, Wesley Snyder (1980). Beloved mother of David and his wife Jane, and Paul and his wife Linda. Loving grandmother of Nathan (Tanya), Andrea (Brian Bauman), Michelle, and Christine (Jeremy McCullough). Sweet great-grandmother (Grandma Cookies) of Ava and Beckett Wadel, Kaden Snyder, and Jordan Mahoney. Lovingly remembered by her sister, Mildred Heller and brother-in-law, George Ritter. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as her good friends. Predeceased by her daughter, Janie (1994), sisters, Vera and Ruth, several sisters and brothers-in-law, and many friends, including her former roommate, Mary Brown. Dear mother of Diane Brown of St. Jacobs and the late Blair Brown, Carol Czarny and her husband Grant of Woodstock, Bonnie Horst and her husband Peter of St. Jacobs. Loving grandmother to Amanda (Mark) Rudniski, Jessica (Nate) Vogel, Matthew (Anna) Horst, and Carly (Blake) Horst. Great-grand- mother of Sophie Vogel, Edson Rudniski and Devin Vogel. Dear sister of Norma Snyder, Ruth (George) Ritter, and Mildred Heller. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Louis and Violet (Durst) Schweitzer and two sons, twin brothers Mark and Dale. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. A private family service will take place followed by interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, St. Jacobs.
