    MRS. RACHEL FELDPUSCH

    Mrs. Rachel Feldpusch, 90, formerly of Elmira, died Wednesday, July 6, 1960, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Tilt of Doon, due to failing health.

    Born July 21, 1869, in Woolwich Township, daughter of the late George Eisenbach and Katherine Schneider, she came to Elmira 25 years ago. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira, and the Ladies Aid.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Feldpusch, whom she married March 28, 1900, in Elmira. Surviving are one son, Oscar of Elmira; one daughter, Mrs. John (Marie) Tilt of Doon; two brothers, Henry of Elmira and Jacob of Brantford; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Morrison of Elmira; four grand-children and two great-grandchildren.

    The body was at the Keffer Funeral Home until removal was made to the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira. The service was conducted in the parlor chapel Saturday at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Frank Malinsky. Burial was in Elmira Union Cemetery.

    Rachel married Herman Feldpusch 28 Mar 1900. Herman was born 15 Apr 1861, Leusel, , Hessen, Germany; died 27 Feb 1948, Elmira, Woolwich Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; was buried , Elmira Union Cemetery, Elmira, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet]

    TILT, Marie (Feldpusch) Marie Tilt died peacefully at home in Doon, on Sunday, January 30, 2011 in her 100th year with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late John Tilt (2008). Lovingly remembered by her children Charles (Nancy), Bill (Nancy) and Margaret (Ed Schnurr); and many nieces and nephews. Dear grandmother of Michael (Kari), Leanne (Mark), Andrew (Lynette), Daniel, Whitney and Margaret; great-grandmother of Stanley. Survived by her niece, Cledas Elgie (Jim) and brother-in-law, Russell Tilt. Predeceased by her brother, Oscar Feldpusch (Edna); brother-in-law, George (Bessie); sisters-in-law, Sherrie (Don) Moore and Doris Tilt. Marie was born in Elmira. Her interest in people has been the focus of her life. She trained as a nurse in Stratford and Montreal and worked at various hospitals. She was one of the first X-ray technicians and a respected supervisor. In 1945 she married John, returning to her farming roots and supporting her husband faithfully in all his endeavours. Marie was a life member of the Doon Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid. She was also a life-long member of the New Dundee Women's Institute, achieving the position of District President. With a passion for history, Marie gave generously of her time and talents to Doon Heritage Crossroads and volunteered for several other organizations - South Waterloo Agricultural Society, Freeport Sanitorium, Pennsylvania Folklore Society, and the Waterloo Historical Society. Marie was recognized as a Woman of Achievement by the Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo in 1988. Marie was a constant in her family's life - always there, caring, quiet and strong, with a helping hand, listening ear, sustaining meal and solid devotion. Marie and John's legacy lives on in their family. Visitation will be at the Henry Walser Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 1st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and at the Doon Presbyterian Church on Wednesday February 2nd from 10-11 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Doon Presbyterian Church or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
