    Metzger, Nancy Martin, daughter of Emanuel and Rebecca (Reist) Martin, was born in St. Jacobs, Ont., Apr. 16, 1905; died on Mar. 3, 1987; aged 81 y. On Oct. 24, 1924, she was married to George Metzger, who survives. Also surviving are 10 children (Vernon, Stanley, John, Vera Martin, Emanuel, Rebecca Cressman, Erma Baker, Marie Fretz, Ernie, and Marlene Baker), 41 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers (Samuel, Emanuel, and Menno), and 2 sisters (Sarah Brubacher and Lydia Ann Martin). She was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, where funeralservices were held on Mar. 6, in charge of Richard Yordy; interment in St. Jacobs Cemetery.

    METZGER, John M. Passed away, peacefully, at the Village of Winston Park on Monday, November 22, 2010, at the age of 77. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris (nee Bast); children, Larry and Beth Metzger, Elaine and Leo Mortensen, Anita Bast and Ikenna Uche, Julie and Parry Herteis; and granddaughters, Melinda, Rachel, Valerie, Laura, Katelyn, Ashley, and Amy. Dear brother of Vernon, Stanley (deceased) and Alice, Vera and Nelson Martin, Emanuel and Mary, Rebecca Cressman, Erma and Ken Baker, Marie and Ernie Fretz, Ernie and Helen, and Marlene and Murray Baker. Predeceased by his parents, George and Nancy Metzger, sisters-in-law Dorothy and Rose Marie, and brother-in-law Curtis Cressman. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of John with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, November 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St., St. Jacobs on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Diller Harder and Pastor Kevin Derksen officiating. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Alzheimer Society of K-W.
