Walter A. Barrie Passes
Death came to Walter Alexander Barrie, Northumberland Street, on Sunday while visiting at the home of his son, Walter Jr., in Paris. The late Mr. Barrie, who was in his 74th year, had been in ailing health for several months. He was born at Brussels, Ont., and came to farm in this district at the age of 19 years. He operated farms in South Dumfries and on the 11th concession of Blenheim, and in 1925 took over the farm on the 10th concession now owned by his son, Richard. Two years ago he retired into Ayr, where he purchased a residence on Northumberland Street. He was a popular member of the Blenheim farming community, where he was noted for his casual wit and kindly personality. He was a member of Knox United Church. Surviving are three sons, Walter, Paris; Richard, Blenheim, and Douglas, R.C.A.F. One brother, James, of Blyth, also survives. His wife, the former Bessie Davidson, predeceased him in 1929
The Funeral
Funeral service was held from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. W. D. Goodger. Interment was made in the Ayr Cemetery. The pallbearers were: David Hogarth, Wallace Dance, Irvin Campbell, Rufus Davidson, David Brown and Robert Barrie.

The Late Charles Lillico Barrie - In the passing of Charles Lillico Barrie on April 30th, the township of Blenheim loses one of its most popular young men. The deceased, who was in his 32nd year, had been in declining health for nearly five years. He was born in Huron County, near Brussels, but bad resided in Blenheim for about 20 years. His mother, three brothers and a sister survive. The brothers and sister are: Walter and James in Blenheim; George in the West, and Mrs. Thos. Hannay at Lloydminster, Alta. The funeral on Friday to Ayr cemetery was very largely attended.

Walter (Chub) Barrie of Park Lane Nursing Home, Paris passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Thursday, June 7, 1984. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Taverner; dear father of Mrs. Rod (Elizabeth) Conway of Brantford; stepfather of Donald and Robert Mason; brother of Richard and Douglas Barrie; predeceased by his stepdaughter Barbara Langs. Funeral service was held at the chapel of Beckett-Glaves Funeral Home, Brantford on Saturday, June 8th with Rev. L. Tweedie officiating. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
