SWARTZENTRUBER, Erma Passed away peacefully from a heart attack on Friday, January 7, 2011 at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Erma was formerly of Petersburg and was born 87 years ago in Wilmot Township. She was the daughter of the late Mose and Catherine (Bast) Roth. Beloved wife of the late Lester Swartzentruber who predeceased her June 18, 1995. Loving mother of Linda and husband Brian Greer of Mannheim and Sandra Streit of Kitchener. Sadly missed and deeply loved by her grandchildren Christine (Tim) Ramseyer, Steven (Danna) Greer, Amy Greer (Rob Entz), Jeff (Amy) Streit, Tim Streit and great-grandchildren Alyssa, and Katie Ramseyer, Gabi and Gracie Greer and Dylan Streit. Also missed by her brother Elmer and wife Annie Roth of New Hamburg, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Lloyd and wife Ida Schwartzentruber and Jean Swartzentruber. Erma was predeceased by a son in infancy, sisters Elmina and husband Clayton Schwartzentruber, Luella and husband Sylvester Jacky, Selena and husband Elmer Wagler and brothers Clarence and wife Lyla Roth, Milt and wife Melinda Roth and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Edith and husband Melvin Erb, Ray Swartzentruber and Omar and wife Ada Schwartzentruber. Erma was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, walking, baking shortbread cookies, popping pop corn, volunteering and spending time with her family and friends. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and again on Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. Agatha Mennonite Church from 1: 00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2: 00 p.m. with Pastor Doug Snyder officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, St. Agatha Mennonite Church or Nithview Community.
