    LOKER, Eleanor

    Lorna Eleanor age 81 of Cambridge, went to be with God, November 18, 2014, after bravely facing cancer. She was born in Kitchener on February 10, 1933 to Mabel and Lorne Kramer. She graduated from Stratford Normal School, in 1953. On June 30, 1956 she married George Ernest Loker. She is survived by her husband George, her children Gwendolyn Humfries (Douglas), Geoffrey Loker (Barbara), Janice Hamilton (Stephen), and Edward Loker and grandchildren, Trista (Shan), Brittany, Luke, Emily, Benjamin, Daniel, Alexandra and Nicholas She was a Primary School Teacher in Kitchener and Galt for 5 ½ years. She did extensive volunteer work in Joyful Service of her Lord. She was a Girl Guide Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Leader of the Mission Band, President of the Mission Circle, Secretary of the Board for Camp Hermosa for 25+ years, on the Promotion Committee for 9 years, Camp Hermosa Corporation for 60 years and Board of Directors for 10 years, Executive of Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec, Overseas Mission Board committee member now CBM, Past Moderator of the Association of Baptist Churches. She visited church shut-ins and was a prayer warrior. Eleanor and George collected Antique Pressed Glass, amassing over 1000 pieces. She loved travelling, especially enjoying the museums, Ancient Buildings throughout Canada, the U.S.A. and Europe. Degas's Little Dancer, Impressionist Painting were high-lights. Vienna, Rome, Paris and Pompeii were favorite cities. She and George loved to dance and were members of Square and Round Dance Clubs for over 35 years. She was active in Tai chi and exercise programs at the Cambridge Senior's Centres. She was avid reader and enjoyed the Opera. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Baptist Missions, Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec or Camp Hermosa. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge. The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 22nd with visitation from 1-2 p.m. and the funeral at 2 p.m., at Avenue Road Baptist Church, 465 Avenue Road, Cambridge.
