CRESSMAN. - At the home of her son near New Hamburg, Ont., Annie (Martin) Cressman, widow of the late Bishop Amos Cressman. She was born on March 12, 1836; died Feb. 8, 1914; aged 77y. 10m. 27d. She leaves to mourn her departure 8 children, 31 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She had been ill only a few days, but nothing serious. She was taking her dinner and when found by her daughter-in-law life was extinct. Her desire had been that she might go home and her request had been granted. She united with the Mennonite Church in her youth and lived an exemplary Christian life to the end. Funeral Feb. 11 from her son,s residence to Geiger,s Church for services. Buried in adjoining cemetery. Services by Bro. Moses H. Shantz and at the church by Bro. Jonas Snider in German (Text, Heb. 11: 13,14) and Bro. Manasseh Hallman in English (Text, Acts 20: 24). A large concourse of people had gathered to pay the last tribute of respect to the departed one^.

Miss Mary Cressman

A lifelong and highly esteemed resident of this community passed away last Saturday evening in the person of Miss Barbara [should read Mary] Cressman at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 29 days. She had been ill for the past year and was confined to bed since last October.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Bishop and Mrs. Amos Cressman, being born on the homestead on the Southern outskirts of the village, now owned by her nephew, Joseph Cressman, and where she practically spent her whole life. The late Miss Cressman was a devoted member of Geiger's Mennonite Church and leaves a host of friends who regret her passing.

Three brothers and two sisters survive, Moses, Enos and Noah Grossman, all of Wilmot, Mrs. Eli Good, Bleam's Road, and Mrs. Christian Fretz, of Vineland. Two sisters predeceased her some years ago and one brother, Osias, with whom she made her home, died on April 2nd last.

The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon with services in Geiger's Church, followed by interment In the adjoining cemetery. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends attended to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed.

Cressman - Moses M., son the late Bishop Amos Cressman, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., March 19, 1859; after a brief illness he passed away at his home May 12, 1938, in his eightieth year. Nov. 29, 1881, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth, daughter of the late Joseph Y. Shantz with whom he lived in matrimony 56 years. At the age of 20 he accepted Christ and united with the Mennonite Church of which he remained a faithful member until death called him. In 1889 he was ordained to the office of deacon in Bean's congregation in which capacity he faithfully served. Surviving are his companion, 2 sons (Ivan of Wilmot, Addi on the homestead), 1 daughter (Effie, wife of Zenus Snider of Wilmot), 11 grandchildren, 1 brother, 2 sisters, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held May 14 from his home to the Bean's Mennonite Church. Officiating ministers were Brethren M.H. Roth, C.C. Cressman and M. Hallman. The body was laid the rest in the adjoining cemetery.

Good - Nancy, daughter of the late Bishop Amos and Anna Cressman, was born near New Hamburg, Ont., Feb. 23, 1862; died at her home near New Hamburg March 13, 1943; aged 81 y. 18 d. Oct. 9, 1883, she was united in marriage to Eli Good, who served as deacon of the Geiger congregation for 30 yrs. and was called to his reward Feb. 11, 1934. This union was blessed with 6 daughters and 7 sons, 5 of whom died in childhood and one daughter (Malinda, Mrs. Simon Brubacher) in July, 1933. Three grandchildren also preceded her. Surviving are 4 sons and 3 daughters (Amos, Jonas, and Moses near New Hamburg; Joseph and Elizabeth (Baer) of Plattsville; Mrs. Angus Eby of Drake, Sask.; Mrs. Angus Gingrich of Wilmot), 33 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother (Noah of Wilmot), 1 sister (Mrs. Chriss Fretz, of Vineland). Sister Good accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth and was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church til death. She was a kind and devoted mother whose services cannot be estimated by earthly measures. Funeral services were held March 16 from the home to the Geiger Mennonite Church, in charge of bishops M.H. Roth and M. Hallman. The body was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

Enos M., son of Bishop Amos and Ann (Martin) Cressman, was born Sept. 17, 1864; died Aug. 27, 1935; aged 70 y. 11 m. 10 d. On Feb. 1, 1887, he was united in marriage to Lovina Hallman who predeceased him Feb. 1, 1931. The Lord blessed their union with 9 children. One daughter (Clara) died in infancy. There remain 4 sons (Jacob of Petersburg, Manasseh of Strasburg, Edmund and Abner of the home community) and 4 daughters (Mrs Manasseh Shantz and Mrs. Eldon Hunsberger of Baden, Mrs. Aaron Bowman of New Hamburg and Mrs. Orphan Weber of Vineland), besides 41 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Moses and Noah) and 2 sisters (Mrs. Eli Good and Mrs. Chris Fretz). Bro Cressman had been a lifelong resident of the community around New Hamburg, Ont., and his passing removes from among us one who was widely known and respected. In his early twenties he accepted his Lord and united with the Mennonite Church, in which fellowship he lived until the Lord called him. Until about a year ago he enjoyed good health, having a strong constitution. During the last year of his life he endured periods of intense suffering through a complication of disorders and often expressed a desire to go to his reward. Although our brother keenly felt his own shortcomings, he assuringly [sic] pillowed his head in God's promises of a full and free salvation. Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at the home and at the Beihn Church. Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Brethren Moses Roth and Curtis C. Cressman had charge of the services.

Death of Enos Cressman.

Enos Cressman, well-known and highly successful farmer of this district, died on Tuesday morning at his home here following a lingering illness He was in his 71st year.

He is survived by eight children. His wife, Lavina Hallman, predeceased him four years ago.

The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon from his late residence at 2 p.m. to Bean's Mennonite Church for services, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Death of Mr. Osias Cressman

A well-known and highly esteemed resident of this community passed away at the Kitchener-Waterloo hospital early on Monday morning in the person of Osias Cressman at the age of 66 years. Mr. Cressman had been ill with stomach trouble and submitted to an operation at the hospital last Wednesday. Other complications set in which caused his unexpected demise. The deceased was a son of the late Bishop and Mrs. Amos Cressman, and was born on the homestead on the southern outskirts of this village where he spent his whole earthly career. He was a devout adherent of the Mennonite faith and for many years, and up to his death, was a preacher at Geiger's Church on Bleams road. He leaves in deep bereavement his widow and a family of two daughters and four sons, namely, Elmina at home Mrs. S. Shantz, Haysville, Joseph on the homestead, Amos, of East Zorra, Omar of Wilmot and Simeon in Waterloo. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, Moses, Noah and Menno Cressman, Mrs. Good of Wilmot, Mrs. Fretz of Vineland and Miss Mary Cressman on the homestead. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon to Geigers' Church and cemetery. .A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends from near and far, assembled to attend the funeral service, which .was conducted by Bishop Manassah Hallman.

Cressman, Noah M., son of Amos and Anna (Martin) Cressman, passed to this reward Oct. 2, 1954, after a lingering illness; in his 85th year. He was preceded by his companion, Mary Anne (Snyder), and 2 sons (Lloyd as a young man and Orland in infancy). He became a Christian in early maturity and served his Lord the rest of his days as a member of the Biehn congregation, New Hamburg, Ont. Surviving are 3 sons (Melvin ,Merriton, Ont.; Zenas and Elam, New Hamburg, Ont.). On Oct. 5 he was laid to rest in the Biehn Cemetery after services at the Biehn Church in charge of M. H. Roth and C. C. Cressman.

These gentlemen possess individually those qualities that seem to complement each other and thus render their partnership a pronounced commercial success. They conduct a general store and their good judgment and level headed business methods have won for them a generous slice of trade. It is about a dozen years since Mr. Noah Cressman, then a prosperous merchant in an adjacent village, came to New Hamburg and joined hands with Mr. Jacob Ernst, who for over a score of years had been prominent in New Hamburg commercial life. Their stock of dry goods, groceries and crockery is always carefully selected and this fact, with fair prices and square dealing, has gained for them the confidence of the buying public. "It is a good store," say those who know. Mr. Ernst is a member of the Public School Board, having been secretary since 1888 and Treasurer since 1901.

Noah M. Cressman By Record Correspondent

SOUTHWEST WILMOT-Noah M. Cressman, 84, died at his home, RR 1. New Hamburg, today. A native of Wilmot township, he was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Amos Cressman. He had lived on the farm where he died for over 50 years. Mr. Cressman was a member of Biehn Mennonite Church and of SS No. 4 school board. His wife, the former Mary Anne Snyder, died in 1934.

Surviving are three sons, Elam on the home farm; Zenas, RR 1, New Hamburg, and Melvin, St. Catharines; one sister, Mrs. Christian Fretz. Vineland; 16 grandchildren and six great-grand- children. One son, Lloyd, predeceased him in 1942 and also one son in infancy.

The body will be at the Futher- Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg, until 11 a.m. Sunday when removal will be made to the residence where a short service will be held Tuesday followed by memorial service in. Biehn Mennonite Church at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Curtis Cressman will be in charge of the service.

Cressman.- Ivan S., son of Moses and Elizabeth (Shantz) Cressman, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Mar. 3, 1884; died at the K-W Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Nov. 10, 1967; aged 83 y. 8 m. 7 d. On Sept. 22, 1909, he was married to Clara Shantz, who died Sept. 29, 1959. Surviving are one daughter (Myrtle), one brother (Addison S.), and one sister (Mrs. Effie Snyder). He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held Nov. 13, with Robert N. Johnson officiating.

Brubacher - Malinda, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Good, was born Nov. 20, 1884, at New Hamburg, Ont.; died July 8, 1933, near Heidelberg, Ont.; aged 48 y. 7 m. 18 d. On March 8, 1911, she was married to Simon M. Brubacher. This union was blessed with 4 children: Wilbert, Beulah (died in infancy), Anna, and Leonard. She had failed in health for some time, but patiently bore it all without complaint. She united with the Mennoite Church in early youth and remained a faithful member till death. She was of a quiet disposition and will be missed by all who knew her.

"Then let us wipe our tears away, and let us trust in God's dear Son;
Oh! Father help us all to say, not ours, but Thy will be done."

Funeral services July 11 at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church conducted by Oliver Snider and C.F. Derstine.

Mrs. Simon Brubacher.

There passed away on Saturday afternoon Mrs. Simon Brubacher in her 49th year. She was ailing since February. She was taken seriously ill only a few days with a heart attack which was the immediate cause of death.

Besides her husband she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Good of New Hamburg, two sons, Wilbert and Leonard and one daughter Anna, all at home. Four brothers Amos, Jonas, Joseph and Moses, all of Wilmot township and three sisters, Lizzie, Mrs. Ezra Baer, Wilmot township, Anna, Mrs. Angus Eby, Drake, Sask., Elmeda, Mrs. Angus Gingrich North Woolwich, also survive. One daughter predeceased her in infancy.

The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon with private services at her late home, two miles east of Heidelberg and thence to St. Jacobs Mennonite Church for public services, followed by interment in Martin's cemetery.

Good.- Amos C., son of Eli and Nancy (Cressman) Good, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Feb. 25, 1888; died at Freeport Hospital, --- Ont., Oct. 18, 1972; aged 84 y. 7 m. 23 d. In November 1917, he was married to Melinda Martin, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Edward and Walter), 4 daughters (Elma-Mrs. Gladwin Bender, Nina-Mrs. Oren Gimbel, Martha, and Pearl Good), 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (Moses and Joseph Good), and 2 sisters (Annie-Mrs. Allen Cressman and Almeta-Mrs. Angus Gingrich). One son and one daughter died in infancy. He was a member of the Biehn Mennonite Church, New Hamburg, Ont., where funeral services were held on Oct. 21, in charge of Irvin Cressman; interment in Biehn Mennonite Cemetery.

Jonas C. Good

Jonas C. Good of 65 Weber St., New Hamburg, died on Wednesday of last week at the Kitchener- Waterloo Hospital at the age of 78.

Born in Wilmot Township June 5, 1890, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eli Good.

He farmed for a number of years in Wilmot Township before moving to New Hamburg and was a member of Steinman Mennonite Church.

Mr. Good is survived by his wife, the former Edna Gingerich; three brothers, Amos of New Hamburg, Joseph of New Dundee and Moses of RR 2, New Hamburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Allan (Annie) Cressman of Saskatchewan and Mrs. Angus (Alineta) Gingrich of New Hamburg.

He was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral service was held at Steinman Mennonite Church on Saturday, Rev. Elmer Schwartzentruber officiating.

Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.

The Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mannasseh Shantz

Mrs. Mannasseh Shantz, 73, of RR 2, Baden, died at K-W Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 17, 1889 in Wilmot Township she was a member of Shantz Mennonite Church, Baden and a member of the Women's Missionary Service Auxiliary.

A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Enos Cressman, she is survived by her husband Mannasseh, to whom she was married Jan. 22, 1913, in Wilmot Township; eight sons, Howard, Nyal, Robert, Arley, all of Baden; Wilfred of St. Agatha, Armand of Wellesley, Ion of Millbank and Mahlon of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Etta) Shantz, Mrs. Lloyd (Ida) Schwartzentruber and Mrs. Aaron (Esther) Enns, all of Waterloo; four brothers, Jacob and Mannasseh of Kitchener, Edmund and Abner of New Hamburg, three sisters, Mrs. Aaron Bowman of New Hamburg, Mrs. Mary Hunsberger of Baden and Mrs. Orphen Weber of Kitchener, and 28 grandchildren.

The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Thursday when it will be removed to Shantz Mennonite Church, Baden, where Rev. Leslie Witmer will conduct a service at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Shantz Mennonite Cemetery. Donations to the Mennonite Mission Board will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

Also surviving are 3 sons (Marvin, Walter, and Glen), 5 daughters (Olive - Mrs. Clayton Wilhelm, Erlene - Mrs. Melvin Burkhardt, Marcella - Mrs. Leland Siebert, Verneda - Mrs. Gerald Smith, and Kathleen - Mrs. Ronald Fast), 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one brother (Abner), and 2 sisters (Mary - Mrs. Eldon Hunsberger and Katie - Mrs. Orphen Weber). HUNSBERGER, Mrs. Mary (Cressman) On Thursday, April 2, 1992, at her residence, Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, Mrs. Mary Hunsberger, aged 92 years.

She was the last surviving member of her family and was formerly of RR 2, Baden. She was born April 1, 1900 in Wilmot township, a daughter of the late Enos Cressman and the former Lavina Hallman. She was a member of Shantz Mennonite Church, RR 2 Baden, where she had been an active participant in the congregation as well as in the WMSC in here earlier years.

Mary was the beloved wife of Eldon Hunsberger who predeceased her in 1953. Dear mother of Enos and his wife Ruth and Ken, all of RR 2, Baden, Amy, Elsie and her husband Glen Shantz, all of Kitchener, Floyd and his wife Catherine of New Dundee, Erma and her husband John Stutzman of Normal, Ill. and Mary and her husband George Schiedel of Elmira.

She was predeceased by a son Willis and his wife Shirley and a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Hunsberger. She is lovingly remembered by 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Lucinda (Abner) Cressman of Cambridge and Olive (Manasseh) Cressman of Kitchener. She was predeceased by four brothers, Jacob, Manasseh, Edmund and Abner and three sisters, Louida (Mrs. Manasseh Shantz), Selinda (Mrs. Aaron Bowman) and Catherine (Mrs. Orphen Weber).

Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. this evening (Friday) and until 1 p.m. Sunday, April 5, when transfer will be made to Shantz Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden where the service will be conducted at 3 p.m., with Pastor Doris Gascho and Pastor Jim Loepp -Thiessen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Shantz Mennonite Church (Lift Fund) or the Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada. Family will be in attendance at the funeral home this evening (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.

Cressman.- Amos Cressman, son of the late Osias and Anna (Gingerich) Cressman, was born near New Hamburg, Ont., May 6, 1893; died at his home near Haysville, Ont., Jan. 20, 1944, in his fiftyfirst year. He became a Christian in his youth and united with the Mennonite Church and enjoyed his Christian life. On Feb. 16, 1921, he was married to Clarcie Stager, the union being blest with 3 children. In his passing he leaves his sorrowing companion and 2 sons, Lester and Irvin, and one daughter, Vera, all at home. He is also survived by his aged mother, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. They are: Mrs. Simeon Shantz, New Hamburg; Omar, Plattsville; Joseph, New Hamburg; Simeon, Preston; and Mrs. Willis Wideman, Stouffville. Bro. Cressman was of a quiet retiring disposition, a man of few words, kindly and sympathetic in his attitudes. Although the Lord has called him home and we shall miss him our loss is his eternal gain. Funeral services were held at his late home on Jan. 22, 1944, followed by a service at the Biehn Church where interment was made. The brethren Moses Roth and Curtis C. Cressman had charge of the services.

CRESSMAN, Omar -- Of 790 Concession Rd., Cambridge(P), Monday, June 30, 1980, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 86th year, Omar Cressman, beloved Husband of the late Mary Ann Shantz. Cressman. - Lloyd S., son of Noah M. and Mary Ann (Snider) Cressman, was born near New Hamburg, Ont., Aug. 2, 1896; died Oct. 7, 1942, at his home in New Hamburg, following a severe heart attack two days previously. He accepted the Lord Jesus as his Saviour in his early youth and became a member of the Biehn congregation, remaining faithful to the Mennonite Church until the Lord called him to Himself. Aug. 2, 1939, he was united in mar-riage to Gladys Snider. This union was blessed with 3 children (Mary Enid, Ruth Evelyn, and David Lloyd). These with his sorrowing com-panion survive his early passing. His aged father and 3 brothers also survive. His mother and 1 brother predeceased him. Why the Lord should call from our midst one we felt was so much needed, both in the home and in the Church, we cannot know here; but we will be resigned to Him who in His love and wisdom has taken our brother to Himself. At the time of his death he served as superintendent of the junior department of the Sunday school and helped pioneer the summer Bible school movement from its beginning in this section, having served as a teacher continuously. He also had the general interests of the Church at heart, having an intelligent and sympathetic under-standing of her problems. He gave unstintingly of his time and effort on several conference committees, and served credibly in this work. He also was much concerned about the spiritually neglected rural fields of Ontario, his business giving him wide acquaintance through the province. Natural ties have been broken, and we sorrow but not as those who have no hope, for Brother Lloyd had assurance of eternal life and our memories of him will ever be an encouragement to us. The funeral services were held Oct. 10 from his late residence in New Hamburg, with a service at the Biehn Mennonite Church, where interment was made in the cemetery beside the church where he had worshiped and served. Bros. M. H. Roth, C. F. Derstine, and C. C. Cressman assisted in the service.

SOUTHWEST WILMOT - Melvin Cressman, 57, of Sault Ste Marie, died suddenly at his home Friday. He had suffered a heart attack two week ago. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs., Noah Cressman. He was born near New Hamburg. He lived for many years at Thorold, more recently to Sault Ste Marie. He was a member of Thorold United Church. Surviving are his wife the former Edith Shantz, whom he married in 1923: four sons; Gerald and Elwood of St. Catharines, Herbert of Thorold and Robert of Sydney, N S. Two daughters, Doris of St. Catharines and Rita of West Germany: two brothers, Zenas and Elam of RR1 New Hamburg. There also are 12 grandchildren. The funeral will he conducted Monday afternoon at a Thorold Funeral Home. Burial will be in ThoroId.

New Hamburg - Elam S. Cressman, 57, of RR 1, New Hamburg, died Tuesday night of a heart attack. He was born May 2, 1910, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noah Cressman. He operated the farm where he was born all his life. He was a member of the Biehn Mennonite Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Alvina Roth; one son, James, at home; two daughters, Grace at home, and Doreen of Kitchener, and one brother, Zenas of RR 1, New Hamburg. He was predeceased by two brothers. The body will be at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home until noon Friday when removal will be made to the Biehn Mennonite Church for the funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. Irvin Cressman will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Mabel is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Miss Cressman was born in New Hamburg and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Mabel was known for her music and crocheting, she also was an avid reader. NYDER, Erma Born March 31, 1922 in New Hamburg and died January 27, 2011 at Fairview Mennonite Home in Cambridge. Erma was the daughter of the late Addis and Lizzie May Erb Cressman. She was predeceased by her sister Mabel Cressman, her brother Harold and brother-in-law Zenus Cressman. Erma worked at Fairview Mennonite Home in the kitchen where she met widower Orlan Snyder who she married on July 9, 1977. She became step-mother to Aden (Verna) Snyder, the late Hettie (Carl) Sleeper, the late Melinda Utz and her late husband Michael, Mervin (Irene), the late Eileen Snyder, Vera (Stanley) Cressman, the late Cleason (Beatrice) Snyder, the late Laverne (Elisha) Snyder and the late Verna White and her late husband Bill. Orlan and Erma moved into a cottage at Fairview, were able to travel and Erma enjoyed gardening and photography. Erma and Orlan had 9 years together and after his death Erma moved into the apartment tower in Fairview where she was active in the Fairview choir and made many friends. In 2006 when her mobility deteriorated even more, Erma moved into the LTC section of Fairview. Her kind spirit will be missed by many staff who cared for her. Erma will be greatly missed by surviving siblings Eloise Cressman, Willard (Beulah), sister-in-law Lois Cressman and many nieces and nephews and their families. Also lovingly missed by surviving Snyder step-children Aden, Mervin and Vera, 40 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Brubacher, 54, was born at RR 1, Waterloo, a son of Simon Brubacher of Preston and the late Mrs. Brubacher, He was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church.

Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, the former Hetti Wideman; three sons, Glen of RR I, Waterloo, Elverne of Waterford and Marvin of Toronto three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Lorene) Snider of RR I, St. Jacobs, Mrs. Richard (Grace) Rodriquez of Vancouver and Miss Adell Brubacher at home; a brother Leonard Brubacher of RR 1, Elora; a sister, Mrs. Anna Shantz of RR 1, Waterloo; and four grandchildren.

Pearl Good, 93, of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020. She was born Oct. 3, 1927, in New Hamburg, Ontario, to Amos and Melinda Good.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Elma, Nina, Edward, Martha, Walter, Vernon and Mary.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, who she adored. She is also survived by many friends and her church family at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, where she sang in the choir for many decades.

Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at First Presbyterian Church with a second service to be held in Ontario this spring.

BAER, Morgan Nyle Morgan passed away peacefully at Nithview Community in New Hamburg on June 16, 2014 at the age of 93.

He was born on March 17, 1921 near Bright, Ontario.

His father passed away when he was 14 years old, making it hard for his mother to support her young family of six children. As a result, Morgan as a teenager left school after grade 8 and worked for neighbouring farmers, bringing all his wages home until he reached the age of 21.

After he and Mae were married in 1949, they purchased a farm near Guelph which is currently covered over by the water of the Guelph Lake Conservation Area.

While farming part-time, Morgan earned his income during those years by working at a foundry. In 1959, he and Mae purchased the farm on Carmel-Koch Road near Baden, which he farmed until his "retirement" in 1986. After that, he and Mae spent 3 years doing volunteer work for MCC in Alberta and Pennsylvania. Subsequently, they lived in Wellesley until 2008, when they moved to a garden home in the Nithview retirement community.

Since August, 2013, Morgan has been in long-term care. Morgan and Mae worshipped faithfully at Shantz Mennonite Church since 1959. Morgan will be remembered as a strong, hard worker who was always willing to share what he had with others. He had a beautiful tenor voice and he loved four-part harmony. In his younger years he played the piano, guitar and piano accordion.

Even until very recently he would enjoy spending hours singing hymns and accompanying himself on the organ. He also enjoyed working in the woodlot, and operated a chain saw until only a few years ago. After he gave up driving his car, he purchased an electric bicycle which he used almost every day until the age of 92. He used to take great pleasure in writing humourous birthday cards for many of the children at church. Even until his very last days, his smile, his sense of humour and his gentle good nature were appreciated by everyone who came in contact with him.

Morgan was predeceased by his parents Ezra Baer and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Good), his four younger brothers: Elmer, Curtis, Orval and Wayne; his brother-in-law Roy Meadows and his sister-in-law, Jean Shantz.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Mae (Shantz) and his sister Erma Meadows, sisters-in-law, Pauline and Rose Baer, and the Shantz family, Alice Gascho (Norman), Lowell (Lorene), Norma and Helen McDonald (Arnold) as well as many nieces and nephews.

His children are Dwight, Stewart, Dennis and Dale; and his foster sons are Mike and Ron Roulleau. Dwight's family includes his wife Jennifer Ostic-Baer, his children Janna, Luke and Amelia, and their mother Erna Millar.

Stewart's family includes his partner Peggy Cosman, his sons Kyle and Ryan, and their mother Dawn Bellmore. Dennis's family includes his children Melissa, Laura, Daniel and Katie, and their mother Mary Lou Shantz. Dale's family includes his wife Sue (Scott), and their children Matt and Sarah. Visitation will be at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday June 20, 2014 at Shantz Mennonite Church, 2473 Erb's Road, Baden, Ontario at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations to MCC Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

He was born December 30, 1928 in Wilmot Township youngest son of the late Ezra and Elizabeth (Good) Baer.

Wayne was a member of Avon Mennonite Church, Stratford. He enjoyed farm work for many years and more recently volunteered as a groundskeeper at Greenwood Court. Wayne is lovingly remembered by brother Morgan and his wife Mae of New Hamburg, by sister Erma Meadows of Stratford, by sisters-in-law Pauline Baer of Moorefield, and Rose Baer of Abbotsford, British Columbia, and by a number of nieces and nephews and their families.

Wayne was predeceased by brothers Elmer, Curtis, and Orval and by brother-in-law Roy Meadows.

Passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022, at the Huron Hospice Residence located in Clinton, Ontario. Floyd was born 90 years ago in Plattsville, Ontario, a son of the late Joseph C. and Naomi (Shantz) Good.

Loving father of Gwen Good and Lyle Haney, Terry Good and wife Kim and Murray Good and wife Chantelle. Devoted grandfather of Mitch (Samantha), Marcus (RuthAnne), Evan and Aidan. Proud great-grandfather of Beau. Floyd will be missed by Lyle Haney's children & grandchildren, by his many foster children, and by many nieces and nephews.

Floyd will be missed by his siblings, Mervin Good, Paul and wife Beth good, Marilyn and husband Dow Phillips and Elroy and wife Joan Good. Predeceased and now reunited with his beloved wife Wilma (Erb) Good who predeceased him on April 29, 2022, by his twin daughters, and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Good.

Floyd was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church and volunteered his time with his beloved wife at the Mennonite Relief Sale. Floyd was a passionate farmer who taught his children and grandchildren the importance of agriculture and farming. He passed on his values to his 3 children and grandchildren who still to this day farm in some way or another. CARS… those who knew Floyd knew his passion for cars and enjoying a cruise on a lovely day. Floyd's car was driven in a manor that items placed strategically on the dash never moved, and if they did he sure knew how the car was driven. He was known for his clean vehicles, even after driving the dirt roads. As some would state, Floyd was a "Legend". Floyd and Wilma opened their home to many friends, and many foster children over the years. The kindness and generosity shown will live on forever.

Cremation has taken place. All are welcome to join the family at the Blenheim Mennonite Cemetery for a time of committal on Wednesday, August 24 at 11:00. The memorial service will follow at 11:30 in the Blenheim Retreat Centre with Pastor Brent Kipfer officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held following the service.

BADEN --A couple who will live in Steinbach, Man., were married here Saturday at Shantz Mennonite Church. Rev. Leslie Witmer officiated at the cere- mony for Esther Shantz and Mr. Aron Enns. Gladioli, mums and ferns formed the setting. Mr. and Mrs. Manasseh Shantz, RR 2, Baden, are the bride's parents and the bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Aron Enns and the late Mr. Enns. The bride's formal gown was styled with a high neckline edged with seed pearls, a net yoke and a lace bodice with lilypoint sleeves. The bouffant net skirt was appliqued with lace panels. A seed pearl headdress held her fingertip veil and she carried a cascade of red roses and mums..


GREEN GOWNS WORN


Mrs. Lloyd Schwartzentruber of Waterloo was matron of honor for her sister in an emerald green crystal charm waltz gown with a bowed empire bodice and bouffant skirt. She wore a matching headdress and gloves and carried a cascade of roses adn mums. Bridesmaids Mrs. Warren MacPherson of Kitchener and Miss Carolyn Shantz of Waterloo, a niece of the bride, wore similar ensembles. Another niece of the bride Gail Schwartzentruber, was flower girl in a tangerine crystal charm dress with a round neckline, front bow and full skirt. She carried a basket of roses and mums. Mr. Schwartzentruber was best man. Ushers were Mr. Arley Shantz of Baden, a brother of the bride, and Mr. John Cornies of Blythiswood, Ont., a cousin of the bridegroom.

BRIDE ENTERTAINED

A dinner at the Hacienda, Waterloo, was followed by a reception at the home of the bride's parents. The couple travelled to northern Ontario and Ottawa. Among those who entertained the bride before her marriage were Miss Erma Hunsberger and Miss Mary Hunsberger of Baden who held a linen shower. Bridesmaid Mrs. MacPherson held a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Sylvester Kennedy of Kitchener. Passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Pearl was born 89 years ago in Wilmot Township, a daughter of the late Edmund and May (Hunsberger) Cressman.

Pearl is reunited with her beloved husband Lloyd Yantzi whom she married on June 18, 1977 and predeceased her on December 2, 1999. Pearl will be missed by stepdaughter LeEtta Erb, step grandchildren; Rod (Lisa), Roland (Janice), Royce (Dana), Russell (Joyelle) and Roger and by her 11 great-grandchildren. Cherished sister of Orval Cressman (Jeannette), Verna Gingerich, sister-in-law of Elaine Cressman and fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Pearl is predeceased by her brother Leonard Cressman, sisters; Mildred (John Nafziger), Gladys (Howard Cressman), a sister, Mary Eileen in infancy, brother-in-law Edgar Gingerich and by her Yantzi in-laws.

Pearl was a devoted member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church and a member of the Haysville Sunshine Club. Pearl was a participator and was actively involved n all activities brought to her attention. She quilted many quilts that made perfect gifts for family and friends, enjoyed sewing, baking cookies for the Mennonite relief sale, and worked for many years at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Kitchener. Pearl especially enjoyed camping and travelling with those she loved. She was a special Aunt to many.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 1:30 \endash 2:30 p.m. A Funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 2:45 p.m. Pastors Jan Steckley and Kevin Peters-Unrau to officiate. AMY L. HUNSBERGER 1927 -2009 Amy Hunsberger died peacefully at Lisaard House in Cambridge on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. She lived in Kitchener for many years, but had resided at Parkwood Suites in Waterloo since last November. Amy is survived by Enos and Ruth Hunsberger, Elsie and Glen Shantz, Erma and John Stutzman, Mary and George Schiedel, Ken Hunsberger and sister-in-law Catherine Hunsberger. She was a special aunt to a number of nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and nephews. Amy also had many good friends. She was predeceased by her parents Eldon and Mary Hunsberger, and two brothers Willis and Floyd and sisters-in-law Marjorie Hunsberger, and Shirley Hunsberger. Amy was a social worker who had served as an assistant dean of women at Goshen College in Indiana She worked for many years at Children and Family Services in Kitchener. She had many interests and hobbies such as making pottery, and interior decorating. Amy was an active member of Shantz Mennonite Church. Willis W. Hunsberger, 39, of RR 2, Baden, died Monday at K-W Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Hunsberger, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hunsberger of RR 2, Baden, was born in Baden Jan. 5, 1929.

He lived and farmed at RR 2, Baden. He was a member of Shantz Mennonite Church and a church trustee. He was a former chairman of the Wilmot township public school board.

Surviving, besides his mother, are his wife, the former Shirley Ramseyer, whom he married Oct. 2, 1954; five sons, David, Stephen, Kevin, Jeffrey and Kieth, all at home; two daughters, Debrah and Kathryn at home; three brothers, Enos and Kenneth, RR 2 Baden, and Floyd, Baden; four sisters, Amy, RR 2, Baden; Mrs. Glen (Elsie) Shantz, Waterloo; Erma, London, England; Mary, Kitchener.

The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today until noon Friday when removal will be made to Shantz Mennonite Church for service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Leslie Witmer and Lester Kehl officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

WATERLOO, Ontario - With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Erma Kathryn (Hunsberger) Stutzman, 87, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Cook Family Residence, Waterloo Regional Hospice, Waterloo, Ontario, after suffering a stroke.

Born at home on Donel Farm near Baden, Ontario, she was the third daughter of Eldon and Mary Hunsberger and was happiest spending time with her seven siblings at home on the farm. Extended family get-togethers and connecting with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews were a highlight for Erma and a common thread throughout her life. Education was a significant pillar in Erma's life. She attended Rockway Mennonite School in Kitchener and Teacher's College in Stratford and the friendships she made there, lasted throughout her lifetime. Erma's sense of adventure, independence and curiosity for life was admired by her nieces and nephews. It was during her time as an MCC volunteer teaching at Grenfell School in St. Anthony, Newfoundland that she sparked a friendship with Dr. John Stutzman. Erma and John were married at Conrad Grebel Chapel in 1972, 15 years after they met and then created a life together in Bloomington, IL. The roads between Waterloo and Bloomington, Siesta Key and Rainbow Rock were well-travelled by family who loved spending time with Aunt Erma and Uncle John. In December 2018, Erma and John moved back to Waterloo to be close to family. Erma's adored husband John passed away August 2019 and last summer Erma moved to Parkwood Mennonite Homes so that she could live close to her beloved sister, Mary.

Erma is survived by sisters, Elsie and her husband, Glen Shantz and Mary Schiedel; brother, Ken Hunsberger and sisters-in-law Ruth Hunsberger and Catherine Hunsberger.

She is predeceased by her mother, Mary; father, Eldon; brothers: Enos, Willis and Floyd and sister, Amy.
Erma was dearly loved by: Sunny, Hannah and Sophie to whom she was always known as Auntie! While Erma and John had no children, their deep love for their nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews was evident and strong. When leaving a conversation with Aunt Erma we would often say, "Good-bye. I love you" and she would say, "Good-bye, I love you more!"

A private memorial service will be held at Waterloo North Mennonite Church on Saturday July 3, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern time zone).
The family suggests donations to Mennonite Central Committee.

At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, with family by her side, Carol Marie (Cressman) Steinman passed away peacefully, after a brief heart related illness, on Sunday, December 9th in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of Gerry Steinman of Cambridge with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage. Her memory will be cherished by her children, Randy Steinman and Sheryl Plouffe of Kitchener, Lynne Steinman and Mark Dalpiaz of Powell River, B.C., Mike and Carolyn Steinman of Cambridge and Tammy and Chris Standfast of Rice Lake. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Melissa (Andrew), Brian, Brooke, Levi, Gabe, Lucy, Ailish, Brody, and Kyler. Also fondly remembered by her brother Ron Cressman, his wife Pauline, Gerry's sister Mary Roth, and her nieces and nephews. Her surviving aunts Alice (Walter) Brubacher, and Alice (Curtis) Brubacher will miss her wonderful sense of humour. She was predeceased by her parents, Abner and Lucinda (Brubacher) Cressman. Carol is fondly remembered for teaching kindergarten throughout Cambridge, for several decades. She was an active member of Preston Mennonite Church and enjoyed reading, sewing and quilting. Carol loved spending time with her many friends and relatives in Waterloo Region, at the cottage at Chesley Lake and at the condo in Gulf Shores. Carol's family will greet visitors from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12th and 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 13th at Preston Mennonite Church. A memorial service will be held at Preston Mennonite Church, 791 Concession Rd. Cambridge, on Friday, December 14th at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Hagey Cemetery at a later date.

Peacefully, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at her residence, Nithview Home, New Hamburg.

Irene and Orton had farmed at RR 2, New Hamburg and resided on Riverside Drive.

Irene was born 83 years ago in Wilmot township and was the daughter of the late Simon Shantz and the former Celina Cressman.

Irene was a lifelong member of Wilmot Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden, where she had been an active participant of the WMSC,

Irene enjoyed throughout her lifetime quilting, gardening, sharing her love of music with others, and being a host family for 14 international MCC trainees.

Her greatest joy was being with her family.

Beloved wife of Orton Koch with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Sadly missed by Doreen (Jim) Houston of Penticton, B.C. and their children Rob (Monica), Tom, Dorothy; Enid (Glenn) Slabaugh of Goshen, Ind. and their children Sonya (Larry) and son Adam, Dana; Lloyd (Erla) of Wingham and their children Angela, Cindy, Jamie; Phyllis (Barry) Bishop of Waterloo and their children David, Danny, Jonathan; Rhoda (Dale) Gingerich of Tavistock and their children Greg and Cheri.

MILLER, Vera It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our wife, mother and grandmother, Vera Ellen Miller (nee Cressman) in her 81st year, peacefully, on Friday, July 22, 2011. Vera will be greatly missed by her husband and best friend Mike Miller. They stood side by side with over 52 years of happiness, raising their family and living their life. Predeceased by her brothers Lester Cressman and Irvin Cressman. Vera was born in East Zorra Township on August 25, 1930. Vera is also survived by her children, Michael and his wife Nancy of London, Ross and his wife Krysta of Waterloo, Carol Ann and her husband Philip Jefkins of Wellesley and John and his good friend Linda Walsh of Waterloo. Vera's legacy will continue in her nine grandchildren, Scott, Brent, Joey, Brooke, Alicia, Michael, Samantha, Erica and Ben. We love you Grandma M. Never at a loss for words, always quick to give directions, Vera's life was simple, full and always entertaining. Her every action was selfless as she was more concerned with the well-being of others more than herself. Vera devoted much of her time and energy to her family. As the kids grew up her need to see to others found her taking on the role as a school crossing guard and a Red Cross homemaker. Still wanting to do more, Vera spent countless hours with the Twin City Spinners, gaining the nickname, "Ma Spinner." She was inducted into the Spinners Hall of Fame in 2009. She also enjoyed socializing and playing cards at the Breithaupt Centre. Vera was a devoted member TOPS, and proudly attained the title of KOP! Cressman, Arnold W. (1928 - 1998)

Arnold W. Cressman, church leader, visionary and entrepreneur, b. 11 September, 1928 to Joseph and Ida (Gingrich) Cressman on the New Hamburg, Ont., Cressman homestead, built by his great-grandfather, Amos and grandfather, Osiah, both Mennonite ministers. Arnold, the second child, had one younger brother and two sisters. He died on July 8, 1998 at the Latrobe, Pennsylvania hospital.

At age 14, Arnold left school to work on the farm where his entrepreneurial spirit expressed itself in building things from scrap metal, wood or machine parts and experimenting with new ideas in agricultural.

Arnold was baptized at the Geiger Mennonite Church in his teens. He studied at Ontario Mennonite Bible School and Institute in Kitchener, Ont. There he met Rhoda Garber, daughter of John F. and Anna Mae (Wenger) Garber, whom he married on July 13, 1956 in Burton, Ohio. They lived near New Dundee, Ont. .

In 1951, Arnold graduated from OMBI and was ordained to the ministry at the small, rural Blenheim Mennonite Church which granted him several leaves to study at Eastern Mennonite College. He earned BA degrees there in Bible and English Literature (1956) and a BA from Western University, London, Ont. (1960).

Arnold was pastor at Blenheim (1951-61) and at Baden (1959-61). Despite his youth, he gained respect for conciliatory efforts during a conflict which saw two bishops and several pastors leave the conference in 1960. In 1990, Arnold returned to Ontario to be interim pastor at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church for fifteen months. Alongside early ministry, Arnold taught at OMBI, edited Evangel, a monthly conference magazine, served on committees, did carpentry work and designed and built an innovative, cost-effective and environmentally friendly house for his family.

In 1961, the Cressmans moved to Scottdale, Pa. where Arnold worked for the Mennonite Publishing House and as Field Secretary for the binational Mennonite Church's Commission for Christian Education until 1970. He shaped and promoted Christian education across North America and wrote curriculum and worship material. He articulated his vision for the church in numerous published pieces, including his weekly "Nurture Lookout" column in Gospel Herald and in vanguard magazines like Festival Quarterly.

In 1962, Arnold and Rhoda purchased a small, rural property "with possibilities" but no amenities. Over three decades, they upgraded the cottage for the family - daughter Jenny and sons Eric and Jon Robert - gouged out several spring-fed ponds, planted a forest of 10,000 trees, a small orchard and garden, all in tune with a fundamental philosophy: taking care of God's earth.

In 1968, Arnold was named executive director of Laurelville Mennonite Church Center while still carrying his Scottdale jobs. His dreams, visions, well-honed practical skills and risk-taking transformed Laurelville. Association membership doubled, old buildings were redesigned and new ones added. Innovative programs trained youth and addressed critical issues in the church, business, society, the arts and families. Arnold proposed long-term goals but also kept Laurelville flexible to respond to immediate challenges. "Aiming at a moving target" was his style. Ill health forced his resignation as director in 1977, but he assisted with programming for ten more years.

Arnold's passion for Anabaptist faith and history permeated Laurelville's program and resulted in the founding of TourMagination in 1970 by Arnold, Rhoda and Jan and Barbara Gleysteen. On European tours the Cressmans led, hundreds of North Americans discovered their Anabaptist roots and renewed their faith. Gradually tours to six continents were added, connecting thousands of members of global Anabaptist-related churches. When Arnold's transplanted kidney quit functioning in 1993, he and Rhoda left TourMagination.

Arnold served on the EMC & S (seminary) Board of Trustees (1977 - 84), the Mennonite Publication Board (1979-87) and in numerous positions at Scottdale Mennonite Church where he was a member for 37 years.

Arnold's life was like a tapestry, its separate segments woven together by common threads of creativity, passion, faith and a desire for shalom. Never hobbled by the obvious, always striving for what might be, he encouraged others "to join him in new expressions of faithfulness to Jesus Christ."

Mrs. Bruce Jutzi

Mrs. Bruce Jutzi of Hong Kong, formerly of New Hamburg, died Tuesday of last week at the age of 27.

The former Ruth Cressman, she was born May 21, 1941, and was a daughter of Mrs. Gladys Grove of RR 2, Markham and the late Lloyd Cressman.

She was a member of the Steinman Mennonite Church. Baden, and had been working in Hong Kong for the Mennonite Central Committee, relief and services section, with her husband since July, 1967.

Besides her husband and mother. she is survived by one brother. David of RR l, New Dundee and one sister, Mrs. Harley (Mary) Snyder of Kitchener.

A memorial service was held last Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Steinman Mennonite Church in Baden.

Rev. Albert Zehr and Rev. Irvin Cressman officiated. The cremated remains were buried in the church cemetery.

BRUBACHER, Vernon Snyder Passed away at Innisfree House in Kitchener on January 23, 2019, age 90 years. Vernon was born in Wilmot Township on January 27, 1928, the son of Abner and Arminta (Snyder) Brubacher. He is survived by his wife Eva, whom he married on August 2, 1956, their three children, Jeff Brubacher (Sandi Li) of Vancouver, BC; Doug Brubacher (Pamela Power) of Ottawa, ON; and Jan Brubacher (John Francois Beylard) of Tofino, BC; and their six grandchildren, Jasmine, Julian, Jennifer, Kate, Neil and Lucie. Also surviving are his siblings, Marjorie Jackson (Joe), Lewis (Lois), Lloyd (Edelene), Eva Good (Jim) and one step-sibling, Hugh Honsberger (Zoe). He was predeceased by his parents Abner Brubacher (d. 1942) and Arminta (Brubacher) Honsberger (d. 1996), his sisters Agnes (d. 1930), Eileen (d. 1936), Mary (d. 1986), Dorothy Snyder (d. 2013), his stepfather Ralph Honsberger (d. 1996) and step-siblings Charlotte Romagnoli, Madeline Thomson, Keith Honsberger, Joan (Liz) Jahncke, and Margaret Chester. After graduation from grade eight, Vernon worked at home on the farm where he was born. In 1945, some two years after his father's death, the family moved to Vineland Station where, for five years, Vernon worked in a greenhouse operation to provide income and housing for the family. In 1952, after his mother married Ralph Honsberger, Vernon went back to school. He graduated from Rockway Mennonite Collegiate in 1953 and from Waterloo College (now Wilfrid Laurier University) in 1957. Vernon entered the teaching profession that year. He taught at Rockway Mennonite Collegiate for five years; then studied at Goshen Biblical Seminary, Indiana from which he graduated in 1965. Then Vernon returned to Ontario and taught at Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School until his retirement in 1987. He was actively involved in church and community, serving on various boards and committees including Wilmot Seniors Woodworking & Craft Club, New Hamburg Thrift Centre Board, Mennonite Historical Society of Ontario, Conrad Grebel University College, Mennonite Central Committee Canada, Rockway Mennonite Collegiate, and Mennonite Historical Society of Canada. Vernon was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church in New Hamburg, where he served as assistant pastor (1965-1968). He also served as interim pastor at Hunta Mennonite Church, Hunta, ON for two years (1990-1992). Vernon had a love of travel, a characteristic that he passed on to his children. When their children were young Vernon and his wife Eva took them on numerous camping trips in Ontario, the Maritimes, northeastern United States and the west coast. Following retirement, Vernon and Eva travelled to India and Nepal, Europe, the Middle East, Haiti and to communities across Labrador. They often travelled to visit their children and grandchildren in Ottawa, ON, and in Vancouver and Tofino, BC. Visitation will be at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 1 - 3 and 6 - 8 p.m. A funeral service and reception will be held at Hillcrest Mennonite Church on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment service will be held at Nith Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery. BRUBACHER. Agnes Lorene, only daughter of Abner and Arminta Snyder Brubacher, was born near New Hamburg, Ont., July 5, 1929; died Jan. 13, 1930. She leaves besides her parents, one brother (Vernon), 3 uncles, 7 aunts, 2 grandfathers, and 1 grandmother. One grandmother (Lavina Snyder) preceded her in death. She suffered only a few days from grippe. Funeral services were held at the house by Osias Cressman and at Biehn's church by Curtis Cressman. Text, II Sam. 12: 23. Interment in adjoining cemetery.

Died - Mr. and Mrs. Abner Brubacher have the sympathy of the community in the death of their 6 months old daughter, Agnes, who died on Sunday last after a few days illness from an attack of pneumonia. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from their residence in Wilmot to Bean's Church and Cemetery.

BRUBACHER, Mary Anna, daughter of Abner Brubacher and Arminta Brubacher Honsberger, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Jan. 26, 1932; died at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Ont., May 27, 1986; aged 54 y. Surviving are her mother, her stepfather (Ralph Honsberger), 3 sisters (Dorothy Snyder, Marjorie Jackson, and Eva Good), and 3 brothers (Vernon, Lewis, and Lloyd). She was a member of Warden Woods Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on May 30, in charge of Connie Zehr and John H. Hess; interment in Nith Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery, New Hamburg, Ont.

Brubacher.-- Ada Eileen, daughter of Abner and Arminta (Snyder) Brubacher, died June 15, 1936; aged 11 months. Death was due to complications following whooping cough. She leaves sorrowing parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, 1 sister having predeceased her six years ago. Our hearts are made sad since the Lord claimed this jewel but we are resigned to His will. Funeral services on June 18 at her parents' home near New Hamburg, Ont., and at the Beihn Mennonite Church, conducted by Brethren M. H. Roth and Curtis C. Cressman.
