Knechtel, Harold Lloyd - Suddenly, at his residence, on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1993. Harold Knechtel, of Kitchener, age 69 years. Harold was a longtime employee of Uniroyal Ltd. for over 40 years before retirement. Beloved husband of Shirley (Brooks), father of Gary Knechtel, Randy Brooks and his wife Marilyn; brother of Lorraine Rapake, Shirley and her husband Frank Fixter, all of Kitchener. Sadly missed by seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry Knechtel and the former Genevieve Schneider; a son, Roger Brooks and a brother in infancy. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, this evening (Thursday) from 6-9 pm and on Friday from 10 am until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 11 am with Rev. Mark Emmerson officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre.

Fixter, Gregory E. - As the result of an auto accident on Monday, in Kenora, Ont., Gregory Edward Fixter, aged 18 years; a son of Frank E. Fixter and the former Shirley Knechtel of 30 Vista Cres., Kitchener. Greg had been playing hockey with the Kenora Muskies of the Manitoba Junior League; a Grade 13 student at Beaverdale Collegiate, Kenora, and formerly attended St. Jerome's college and Forest Heights collegiate; he was a member of St. Francis RC Church. Besides his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fixter of Kitchener; brothers Paul and Ronald and a sister Paulette, all residing at 30 Vista Cres. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, where the parish rosary will be recited Wednesday, at 8 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday, at 9: 30 am, followed by funeral mass at St. Francis RC Church at 10 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society may be made as expressions of sympathy. The family will be in attendance at the funeral home from 2-4: 30 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday.
