    NEW HAMBURG, A New Hamburg resident for 30 years, William Henry (Bill) Fewkes, 60, died at his Jacob St. Home, yesterday, following a lengthy illness.He was born Aug. 16, 1893, in Leicestershire, Englandand came to Canada with his parents, 50 years ago. They settled in Hespeler and came to New Hamburg, 30 years ago. He was a veteran of the first World War, serving with the 34th battalion. Mr. Fewkes took an active interest in hockey and was secretary of local hockey clubs, for several years. He was also a member of the Frontiersmen and a member of St. George's Anglican Church. He was twice married. His first wife,Geraldine lsche, died in 1946. He married the former Alice Ham in 1949. She survives. Also surviving are his mother. Mrs. Matilda Shantz, Kitchener; three sons,three daughters and one step-son. Daws, Kitchener; Gerald, England; Reuben, Elmira; Victor Ham, Stratford; Mrs. Murray (Catherine) Linder, Kitchener; Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Wolfe, Waterloo; Mrs. Wayne (Geraldine) Bender, Tavistock and eight grandchildren.The funeral will be Wednesday, at 2 p.m., at the Futher-Omand Funeral Home, with Rev. W. A. Jones, rector of St. George's Anglican Church, in charge. Burial will be in Sebringville Cemetery.

    Died - The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fewkes passed away on Tuesday at their home on Waterloo street at the age of six months. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon to Riverside Cemetery.
