AITKEN, MARGARET (Nee Neilson)

On Wednesday night, [January 11, 1922], at her residence on the 4^th concession of Puslinch, at the age of 68 years. Relict of Andrew Aitken. Mr. Aitken had been ill only a few days. She was born in Esquesing Township, Halton County and came with husband to Puslinch thirty-eight years ago. She was highly respected by all who knew her. A few days ago, she took a paralytic stroke, from which she never rallied. Mrs. Aiken had a loveable disposition and made many friends among her neighbours and among the townspeople as well. She was a devoted member of St. Andrew's Church. Mr. Aiken passed away only last March and a daughter, Mrs. Richardson lost a little boy, so that the family have been greatly bereaved during the past year. A family of five survive: Mrs. A. S. Murray of Weston; Mrs. Charles Richardson of Gourock; Mrs. Charles Austin of Eramosa; Mrs. John Erhardt of Puslinch; and Thomas, at home. The funeral was held on Friday at 2 from her residence. Interment at Hespeler Cemetery.

Margaret married Andrew Aitken 23 Dec 1874, Esquesing, Halton Co., Ontario. Andrew was born CALC 26 Oct 1844, Esquesing, Halton Co., Ontario; died 1 Mar 1921; was buried , New Hope Cemetery, Hespeler (Cambridge), Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet]

In Galt Hospital, on Thursday, [July 3, 1919], in her 31^st year. Daughter of Andrew and Margaret Aitken. Funeral at the residence of her parents, lot 6, concession 4 in Puslinch on Sun. , July 6 at 3, thence to Hespeler Cemetery. It was largely attended. Service was conducted by Rev. Small, pastor of the Presbyterian Church.

Mother of Margaret (Mrs. George Lynch) of Cambridge; Viola (Mrs. Lloyd Herridge) and Becky (Mrs. Charles Bums) of Mississauga; Joyce (Mrs. Donald Pentelow) of Guelph; and the late Helen. Also survived by fifteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. Skinner and Middlebrook Ltd. Funeral Home, 128 Lakeshore Rd. East in Port Credit. Service at the Clarkson Road Presbyterian Church, 1338 Clarkson Rd. North in Clarkson, ON at 3 on Monday. Interment New Hope Cemetery, Cambridge (H).

EHRHARDT, HELEN MAY

About 5: 30 on Sunday afternoon, July 22, 1928, at her home in Puslinch Township, 15 years of age, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ehrhardt. She had been ill for several months and bore her suffering patiently. She was a lifelong resident of this district and was well known and held in the highest esteem. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and also of the junior girls' choir of that church. Besides her parents, she is survived by her grandfather, William Ehrhardt; three sisters, Margaret, Viola and Rebecca, all at home. The funeral was held from her home on Tuesday at 2, interment being made in Hespeler Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. F. E. Williams of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Hespeler and Rev. J. J. Lowe of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Galt. Pallbearers: Charles Austin and Alex Austin of Rockwood; Andrew Richardson of Gourock; Kenneth Murray and William Erhardt of Puslinch; and Karl Ehrhardt of Clearview.
